Throughout my stay, I was treated with respect by the staff, who were always cheerful and friendly. The centre was cleaned regularly and the food was excellent. The facilities were first class, especially the gym, which was always open for use.
I could not have wished for a better place to spend my rehabilitation. Every single person who works at Marbrook have helped me get back on my feet and made a difference. A truly wonderful place that has exceeded all expectations.
Team work! From the moment you walk in the receptionist has a warm smile, there are fresh flowers, coffee and cake.
All the staff talk to each other so the needs of the patient are known to everyone concerned. All rooms, bathrooms and shared space are immaculate. They take the time to listen to any requests and will always say Hi or a cheery wave as they pass. The facilities for rehabilitation are great and the staff well trained and eager to help and often go the extra mile.
My partner was a resident for 3 1/2 months during which time all the staff worked extremely hard to rehabilitate him.
Since my son incurred his horrific injury, he's been on a year-long journey which has taken him from Sweden - 4 hospitals. How appropriate and fitting that his 5th and final port of call was Marbrooke. The journey finishes on a high! My wife and I will miss the lovely people we've got to know. Marbrook is a truly wonderful place, full of professional caring people. Everything, just everything about this care home has been first class. i can't sing your praises highly enough. You will all be missed.
Our daughter was admitted to The Marbrook Centre - Cambridge and arrived on a stretcher following a car accident in August 2017. When she left The Marbrook Centre - Cambridge she was able to walk out of the door. This was due to the dedication and expertise of all the staff and we cannot thank them enough. The quality of the care is second to none and we felt we were part of a large family.
My husband has been a patient at Marbrook after a stroke in May. The staff have been wonderful and he was walking within two days on his own. I cannot fault the Centre in any way and it would be highly recommended to anyone in need.
My brother was in Marbrook for 19 months and he has just moved on into his own property. The whole team, especially Therapy have been amazing to bring my brother to the point he has achieved now. A big big thank you for being there and supporting the whole family too.
The staff were excellent, so friendly and helpful. They made us feel so welcome and at home. They did an amazing job in assisting my partner's recovery. The centre itself is lovely, clean and has lovely gardens to be able to sit in. The food was excellent. Can't say a bad word about our experience 10/10.
It was especially helpful to us that dogs were welcome to visit. The only reason that my husband asked to be discharged early was that communal living was making him too anxious.

I am now back home after being in hospitals for nearly five months.
The Marbrook Centre - Cambridge and its wonderful staff completely turned things around for my father.
He has now returned home with optimism, confidence and mobility.

The service and care provided by Marbrook was outstanding on all fronts, I could not have wished for a better place for my Dad to have his rehabilitation.
My experience has been great. Staff are friendly, always greet family and friends with a smile and go the extra mile to provide a good service. At times understaffed carer wise, however, the staff do a fantastic job even though at times re rushed off their feet. Food is lush, compliments to chef: Need to diet now.
If you are in need of any kind of rehabilitation you could not choose a finer place than The Marbrook Centre. Excellent buildings and facilities, first-class therapists, wonderful and smiling nurses, carers and laundry personnel and also the receptionists. You cannot do better.
Fantastic rehabilitation unit - wonderful physio and occupational therapist. I had a stoke and they taught me to live again, I can now walk with help.

I’m a registered nurse and bring a wealth of experience in nursing management, service development and specialist palliative care.
Likes: Spending time with friends and family

Having worked in the care sector as a registered nurse for over 14 years, I have gained experience in numerous nursing homes including a primary care setting.
I am extremely passionate about delivering high standards of care to residents living with a long term neurological condition, a spinal cord injury or dementia.
Leading by example with a hands-on approach, I aspire to demonstrate great skill and compassion with residents whilst exemplifying integrity with my team.
I started my career in health and social care at the tender age of 17 and have since worked in a range of settings including supporting those living with dementia, mental health issues, neurological impairments, autism and learning disabilities. Person-centred care is at the heart of all that I do and I’m passionate about my team promoting quality of life for all residents here at The Marbrook Centre. I know that there is no single approach that is the right way for every individual, I firmly believe in the ethos ‘no decision about me, without me’ and I embed this into the core of any decisions made.
After qualifying as a nurse in 1999, I worked in Critical Care before starting at Marbrook as a Senior nurse in 2016. I am passionate about providing the best care experience for our residents at Marbrook.
I bring twenty years of experience providing medical input to rehabilitation Multi-Disciplinary Teams, treating people with neurological disabilities and limb loss.
Being able to play a role in improving someone’s quality of life is why I love my job.
I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2007 and since then have worked in a variety of settings including large teaching hospital and a specialist rehabilitation center.
I enjoy building relationships with individuals and their families and really getting to know the person, what is important to them and what it is that they want from their rehab here at Marbrook.
My role as the Therapy Lead is to support staff, individuals and their families to ensure the provision of high quality person centered rehabilitation.
I love my job! In a nutshell, I am here to look after everyone and to ensure Team Marbrook has the best tools to do their jobs. So, what are these tools? Well, in the toolbox is good training and support, a nice environment, the best equipment, clear leadership and the remaining space in the toolbox is filled with care and compassion.
I’m a nurse by training, albeit a moderately old one, having qualified in 1985! Since I qualified I have followed the management, rather than the clinical path. I also spent 5 years as a care home inspector in the 90s where I saw the good, the bad and the ugliest of care services!
So, back to why I love my job. I see people every day who have experienced life changing injuries and health challenges. They and their families are truly extraordinary people; their strength, optimism and motivation to be the best they possibly can be, is an amazing thing to share in. This is a constant reminder to me to make every day count, value what I have and not to complain or worry about things I don’t! The icing on the cake is to witness Team Marbrook supporting people on these difficult and challenging journeys with such care and compassion. I am one happy bunny.
I have lots of experience of building new services and care partnerships in the NHS, Charity and Private sectors. My role is to enable all those who could benefit from our rehabilitation skills, a clear care pathway to us.
I have been a qualified nurse for over 20 years. I love supporting individuals to achieve their full potential in life. I am at my happiest knowing that residents are safe and experiencing good quality care. I enjoy working as part of a team and ensuring that systems and processes are in place to allow our residents to flourish.
