Kiwi House Care Home

Very kind staff - 10/10.

My grandma came to Kiwi for 4 weeks of respite in June 2022. We were extremely happy with the care she received during her stay. There was also an abundance of activities for her to get involved in and she attended at least one activity every day. She thoroughly enjoyed the summer fayre and cinema afternoons. She loved getting her hair done in the salon as well as getting her nails painted. We are now looking at a permanent placement for her at Kiwi, as we were very happy and she made friends there.

After needing immediate temporary care for my mum, we found Kiwi Care Home on a website. After a quick call, Mum was assessed the same day by a member of staff, and got a place the next day after they had created her care plan. She came weighing less than 7 stone. After 6 weeks of their loving care she now looks healthy and, in fact, loves it so much that she now wants to stay permanently. The rooms are lovely with en suite and kept clean. The staff are outstanding here and the interaction is welcomed by clients. Food is lovely and Mum's now put weight on again.

Two issues I have are that it was advertised as having physiotherapy available which Mum desperately needs and was a huge factor in my decision to choose Kiwi, however, after 6 weeks we’re still waiting. I’ve recently found out this is via referral and not on-site. Second is the spa bath, in the photos as a selling point, no one uses it as there seems to be no staff trained to use it.

I placed my mother and father in this beautiful care home, they had a wonderful time after struggling and just coping at home. This place had it all and you do not need to worry as they received excellent care, healthy meals, support in all areas for their mental well-being, and medication reviews. Fabulous Xmases and New Years and top knotch entertainment, beautiful rooms and areas to go to ie pub, gardens, hair dresses etc. And most of all, credit to all staff, their dedication is second to none. Nothing was ever too much trouble. So I would recommend this truly wonderful home. Thank you Kiwi House for all that you did for my parents.

In my opinion, finding a good care home for a family member is difficult. Thank goodness we found Kiwi House. From the moment we entered the building, we knew it would be perfect for my mother-in-law. This place is an absolute gem. The standard of care is outstanding, and nothing is too much trouble. This is evident in the improvement in my relative's health and well-being.

I was really struggling to find a care home for my relative. Other homes promised home visits or to get the manager to call me, but no one ever did. On emailing Kiwi House, within 2 hours the manager was giving me a call and arranging a viewing. We have been so impressed with the welcome we received, the cleanliness and the quality of the food. The moving in process went really smoothly and as a family we are so pleased we chose Kiwi House.

We had no idea how he would get on and we were very nervous that he would want to come home, he never asked. I spoke to a member of staff daily and got updates on his day and spoke to my father each night. He had a full day of activities and enjoyed the food. The staff are truly amazing and we are very grateful that my mother could have a rest from caring for my father. Highly recommend.

Had a wonderful visit today; we chatted and laughed and enjoyed each others company. Can't wait to give her a hug.

I am really pleased with the care received at Kiwi House. My dad is well looked after, and I’m able to see him in the cabin, which works great. The hosts are pleasant, and the staff are extremely friendly. My dad complements the food and activity staff and is really happy there.

My gran is staying at Kiwi House for respite care. She is really enjoying being there, she said it was like "home from home". We get to have regular visits and FaceTime calls, which is great for us and the family. The rooms look luxurious, and the staff are very helpful and pleasant.

Kiwi staff have always looked after my mum with dignity and care. They have helped her through some very difficult times. Their support has been appreciated by the whole family. There have been a few problems along the way; these have always been addressed and resolved.

The staff are lovely and go out of their way to make both my parents and myself comfortable and at ease. Each time I visit I'm made comfy, offered a drink and witness all the staff and how they treat the residents and visitors alike. They are very caring, professional and go out of their way to accommodate everyone. I won't hesitate to recommend the home to all my friends and family. The fact that I have both my parents in the home shows my confidence in the home.

Kiwi House always gives an outstanding quality of care, the staff are friendly and are always willing to help. Kiwi House has great facilities, a pub, cinema and hairdressers. Kiwi House is a lovely, friendly home and service users happiness and wellbeing is always a priority.

During these difficult times, it’s been really lovely that they have introduced Skype calls and also pod visits to still enable us to see and speak to loved ones. All staff have been helpful in passing items over to my grandma safely, ensuring me that the items were placed in isolation before being passed on.

I have spoken with my granny on the phone last week after moving in, and this week to see how she’s settled. She loves living at Kiwi House. She always said she didn’t want to go in a care home, but now she’s living in one, she realised that care home are like hotels now. I can’t wait to come in and see her and her new home, as it’s so nice to know she’s happy and well looked after, thank you to everyone at Kiwi House for helping my granny settle.

Kiwi is a beautiful home, the staff have always been warm and welcoming when we could visit, and have always helped my gran keep her independence, they do a fantastic job, it was truly amazing to see them help my gran use the iPad so we could have a video call.

I came into Kiwi House due to feeling alone - following the loss at my husband. I have had a very warm and kind reception to both Kiwi House and my stay. My family brought me here and I have become comfortable, safe and secure.

My Gran is in the care home and is very happy. The staff are kind, caring and go out of their way to ensure my Gran is taken care of. They keep you fully informed of health needs, and if there are any changes, they contact you once the doctor has been with updates. Me and my family are always made to feel welcome.
