The atmosphere at Ty Llandaff is so positive and friendly and every member of staff has made such a huge effort to make Mum feel welcome. From the beginning, they have also been very supportive to us as a family and have worked with us to make sure that they understand Mum's needs, so that she can have
the very best care. Nothing has been too much trouble.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and relaxing and the en-suite bathrooms are luxurious. The communal rooms are elegant and welcoming, they all have large windows.
Residents can choose from many activities and there are opportunities for socialising, however, they can also enjoy quiet time in their room. The ethos of the staff is that this is the resident's home and they are visitors who come in to help and support. We feel very lucky that Mum can enjoy such a lovely home and that we can come and visit and be made so welcome.

When my auntie received the sad news she was terminally ill, myself and my brother were given the details of Ty Llandaff.
After a lovely meeting and a walk around the home, she went there for her palliative care end of life.
What can I say? The home helped us support her through this time and she
built relationships with staff and residents that helped her get through.
Thank you again for your support before, during and at the end of her life, couldn’t have done it without you all.

Ever since we came to Ty Llandaff it was a wonderful experience. The staff were really nice. The rooms were very clean like a hotel and when Auntie came there, although dubious at first, really came to love the place and the staff and cared for her in the best possible way until she sadly passed away.
I would just like to say that the staff here are extremely professional, discreet and friendly at all times and I would always recommend Ty Llandaff. Finally, I’d like to thank them all very much for their exceptional care services.

I cannot praise highly enough the level of care my terminally ill mum received from the staff at Ty Llandaff Care Home during the period from late January to mid-April 2024. Ty Llandaff is well appointed with all the amenities one might expect with, importantly in my view, essential medical support
on hand at all times. Without exception, the friendly and welcoming manner of the staff, aligned with a positive attitude and caring approach made me feel Mum was being looked after as a much-loved member of a large but close family. I will always be grateful that my mum was able to spend her final days in such an environment.

Mum moved to Ty Llandaff for palliative care during the last few months of her life. Ty Llandaff made the move from the hospice so easy, and Mum was treated with dignity and respect from the very first. Nothing was too much trouble for her and also for my brothers and me - we were treated like part
of the Ty Llandaff family by all the staff who were, without exception, exceptional.
The facilities were marvellous, and Mum couldn't have been better treated or made more comfortable at all times. In fact, the home became a 'home from home' for our visits, and in that way, it will be missed after having been a large part of our lives too.
Even when Mum finally passed away, the staff couldn't have been more caring to her and us, and their support at the time was invaluable. Thank you so much to everyone.

I thought I would write a follow-up review as my Mother has been in Ty Llandaff since the beginning of January. The menu is excellent with a wide range of choices and is not repetitive. The entertainment is very frequent and varied. The staff takes the time to draw on the strengths of each resident
and there is always plenty of laughter. I am treated as a member of their family and the staff certainly makes time for us also. They look after me if my Mother is having a bad day. This is my happy place and I am certain my Mother would not receive better care elsewhere.

I cannot thank Ty Llandaff Care Home enough for all they have done for my husband during his three-month stay. They provided exceptional care for him. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism by all members of staff. The facility itself was clean, well-maintained and
an effort had obviously been made to make it feel like a comfortable home. The staff at Ty Llandaff went above and beyond to ensure his needs were met with compassion and expertise. They provided personalised care tailored to his specific requirements. Throughout his stay, the staff communicated effectively with both him and me, keeping us informed about his progress and the changes needed in his care plan. Please accept my gratitude to all these staff for their outstanding care and support, not only for my husband but for me too. This is an exceptional care home.

Living abroad makes it an emotional journey when looking after my mum. I visited Ty Llandaff Care Home where they accommodated my visit at the drop of a hat at a point of crisis. The receptionist showed me around the home and introduced me to a very friendly staff team before settling me in with a "cwtch"
with some homemade refreshments. The home manager and office manager came and met me and put me at ease whilst my Mum enjoyed a complimentary haircut and blow-dry. To say that my Mum moved in 3 days later with support, and love on her journey has been for us has been an absolute relief.

We feel that the flexible and responsive approach, from our dad's assessment in the hospital to his transition to Ty Llandaff, was exceptional. Lead staff were communicative, proactive, personable, and informative. As a family, we appreciate the warmth, friendliness, humour, care and genuine desire

My in-laws came into Ty Llandaffin January 2024 after being apart for six weeks due to hospitalisation. At 96 and 97 they hadn't previously been separated so the team at the care home ensured they had adjacent rooms until my father-in-law passed on the 10th of February 2024 leaving behind his wife of
63 years. They could not have done more to support her or care for her, particularly on the day of his death and then funeral. Truly caring, loving, and supportive. Thank you.

I'd like to thank everyone who is caring for my 96-year-old mother, especially since the passing of her 97-year-old husband. A special thank you goes to a wonderful care worker who came in early on the day of the funeral to help dress my mum in her funeral clothes. She didn't have to do that, but her
example of care was above and beyond and it put my mum at ease. Huge thanks for such professionalism and care.

Our mum is in respite care in Ty Llandaff Care Home. we have all been made to feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. What a caring and friendly environment. You are all working wonders. The home has recently been refurbished to a high standard and the facilities are wonderful. I sleep better

My mum came into Ty Llandaff for respite care after Christmas. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel extremely welcome. They were keen to know all about my mum so that they could do the best for her. Her health and well-being have both improved since she arrived, which is wonderful. The staff
are fantastic - nothing is too much trouble for them - they even got her hearing aids working again! The Office Manager was a great help and is always a friendly face at the home.

My brother has been a resident of Ty Llandaff since June 2023, and he settled in immediately. On my visits, I have always been impressed by the care given to my brother by all the staff, and by the many activities laid on for the residents. I have also always been impressed by the level of cleanliness
maintained throughout the home, and by the help given to me personally when I visit. I, and my family, are very happy in the knowledge that my brother is being looked after so well at Ty Llandaff.

Our relative has been here for just over 2 months and we can’t tell you how pleased we are with everything! The whole building is absolutely immaculate, the food is beautiful and presented perfectly but most importantly, the staff are always going above and beyond. It really comforts us as a family
to know that our relative is surrounded by staff who actually care about the residents and treat them with the dignity and respect that they all deserve.


It’s also a bonus that we’re able to take our dogs in, who are even treated like royalty as soon as they step in the building being offered treats at reception! Unfortunately, our relative was in a different home prior to here, which was horrific, so I can’t explain how relieved we all feel knowing that Ty Llandaff is worlds apart and that our relative is finally able to be treated with dignity and live in the luxury that he very much deserves. We can’t thank the staff enough for what they’ve done in such a short space of time.

My husband has been in Ty Llandaff for the past 6 weeks. Myself and our family are extremely pleased with Ty Llandaff. The home manager and all the staff are wonderful, very kind and caring to my husband and also to our family. They are all very attentive and nothing is ever too much trouble, everything
they do is done with kindness and compassion. The menu at Ty Llandaff is nutritious and constantly changing. The furnishings are excellent and the home has a lovely atmosphere and is very welcoming.
The added bonus of the cinema room is very welcome indeed. We are very pleased with everything, as is my husband who seems very happy and content, which is a joy to see.

I visited the home on 2 occasions, on one occasion, I was invited to a resident birthday 'party'. I had a lovely time, was welcomed warmly by the staff and thoroughly enjoyed myself also briefly meeting other residents. The following day I visited on 'spur of the moment'. Again plenty of parking, welcomed
at reception, found my resident, was welcomed into the kitchen area, was made a cup of tea, chatted with the man and met some of the other residents, all very congenial.

Ty Llandaff is in a gorgeous area of Cardiff with coffee shops, bistros and parks within walking distance which my mum and I enjoy visiting. The home is elegant, scrupulously
clean and very well appointed, there are high-quality activities happening regularly but above all, it is genuinely homely. Living overseas I am reliant on the staff to help with things like video calls, shopping and even birthday celebrations and, as many of the other reviewers have also stated, absolutely nothing is too much trouble. The managers are very much a part of day-to-day living for both the residents and the visitors. In summary, all the staff are genuinely amazing and have made the emotional process of moving into a home, smoother than I thought possible. Thank you Ty Llandaff.

I have worked in the care industry for over 30 years and have extensive experience across the sector. My career to date has been working with local authorities, charity and the private sector, in residential and Nursing Home settings, Day Services and Supported Living. It has been a privilege to care for our elderly and I have had the pleasure of a lifetime of stories and memories in my journey.


I strive for excellence, my door is always open, the values of the Care Concern Group and what I am committed to delivering, care of the highest standard, the basic principles of care I very much respect, and dignity is of the highest priority.


I am a very passionate carer, and endeavour to drive quality in the service for those in our care, with the combined support from staff, families, local authority commissioning teams, health care professionals and regulators.

Sue is an avid reader of any genre except horror and loves to spend time with her four beautiful dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys going away with her partner in their caravan all around the country – her favourite places are Ceredigion and Cornwall.

My name is James Newing, I have over twenty years of catering experience.


I trained at the Celtic Manor resort gaining my qualifications in NVQ 1,2,3 and 4. I worked my way up to the level of Sous chef during my time and helped cater for such events as the NATO summit and Ryder cup.


I took on my first head chef role for Brains working at the Ty Mawr in Lisvane for two years.


I left then to become a Catering Manager at St Joseph’s Hospital in Newport.


I then became Head chef of Pentwyn house care home in Marshfield until I became Head chef here at Ty Llandaff.
I’m very passionate about food and have taken on an allotment which I and my young children enjoy spending time at, it’s very important for me to teach them to respect food and know where it comes from and how it is grown.


I find my work at Ty Llandaff very rewarding and it’s a pleasure to provide healthy, nutritious meals for the residents.
