My mum has been a resident at Ty Llandaff for over a year now and although the move was understandably difficult at first, the staff worked tirelessly to make her feel at ease. She enjoys participating in all the activities, particularly music events and we have had the recent pleasure of joining my mum for a meal with her whole family. Covid was a tough time for the whole care industry and there were some inevitable bad effects but throughout, there have been some key members of staff who have continued to provide excellent care for my mum. My mum is safe, healthy and above all else, very happy so we are very happy that we chose Ty Llandaff.
Thank you so much for your review. I am delighted to hear that your mum is doing so well. I had the pleasure of meeting Mum again on my recent visit. I agree that staff have been extremely dedicated and extremely hard working to ensure people living at Ty Llandaff are cared for so well. I will of...
Mum has been in care at Ty Llandaff for the last twelve weeks. May I say I cannot thank the staff and management enough for the care and kindness they have shown to Mum. When she was accepted into Ty Llandaff, she was only given a matter of weeks to live. Thanks to the staff, she is still with us and believe me, they do go the extra mile for all their residents. All I can say is I am very grateful to all the management and especially the staff that look after Mum.
Thank you for taking the time to give feedback. I am delighted to hear of how well your Mum is doing. I know the staff have worked very hard to ensure she is made comfortable. I will certainly ensure the staff receive the feedback given as I know they will be delighted to hear how happy you are with the care provided. We hope Mum continues to enjoy her stay at Ty Llandaff.
I was welcomed warmly and settled in quickly. My needs are well met and the staff are kind and responsive. Meals are delicious and service is commendale in every respect.
We are delighted you are enjoying your stay at Ty Llandaff and it is a real pleasure to have you with us. I really enjoyed our conversation last week and the feedback you gave me in relation to your stay. I will ensure the staff receive your feedback. I look forward to seeing more of you over the next couple of weeks.
Through recommendation, our Mother has been at Ty LLandaff since the 3rd May, she initially went in for respite, she is now a permanent resident and this is something we thought we would never have to do. Due to the excellent care and support Mum has received from housekeeping, carers, maintenance and office staff we decided this was the best place for her. At first, Mum was reluctant to sit with other residents when there was any entertainment going on, but now after having a little bit of gentle persuasion she is now happy to join in and is seen singing along. Anybody visiting the home is greeted by friendly receptionists who are always happy to help with any queries. Tea/smile often offered. Mum's brother visited recently who she hasn’t seen for 2 years due to Covid etc, this was a surprise for her. The staff couldn’t do enough. Lunch was laid on for 4 in the celebration room and they all had a fabulous time. Mum is happy and relaxed, the best we have seen her in a long time. So thank you.
Thank you so much for such a beautiful review. I have seen first hand how well your Mum has settled into her new home. The staff really enjoy caring for your Mum. It has been so wonderful seeing your Mum doing activities and sharing experiences with other people in the home. I am very pleased to...
My sister initially went to the home for a few weeks respite in May, after coming out of hospital. Having had the last of three strokes, her three daughters, with the aid of carers, had tried to give her 24/7 care but this had started to impact on her daughters' health, so after looking around at several care homes and a recommendation, all four of them visited Ty Llandaff, which after the visit, all four thought it would be suitable. Now eight-plus weeks later, she is still at the home, looking and feeling much better (her words). This is mainly from having the 24/7 professional care she needs and where her daughters, my elder brother and myself and my wife know she is safe. For our own part, my wife and I have found all the staff at Ty Llandaff to be courteous and very helpful and would be more than happy to recommend Ty Llandaff care home to anyone.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We are so pleased to hear that your sister is doing so well. As a family, you must be very relieved to see how well the staff care for your sister and we will ensure they receive the feedback. Really appreciated.
I only wish I found you sooner.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. We will ensure the staff receive the feedback. We appreciate you taking the time to submit and we thank you for choosing Ty Llandaff care to look after your loved one.
My friend moved into Ty Llandaff Care Home a few weeks ago and all I have is praise for the hard working, dedicated team. From the housekeeping team to the care team! They know my friend on a personal level and treat her as part of their family. As I have joined her for lunch there, I know that the food is delicious and well presented. She has been able to personalise her bedroom by bringing some of her own furniture which has made her moving into Ty Llandaff Care Home a lot easier. She loves spending time in the cinema watching films and very much enjoys the entertainment the home organises. She initially only moved into the home for a few weeks, but has enjoyed it so much that she has decided to stay!
Dear Tony, thank you so much for your lovely comments. We really appreciate hearing how well your friend has settled and are delighted to hear of the decision to stay. The staff really pride themselves on providing wonderful care to people living in Ty Llandaff. We will ensure they receive the...
My grandad was a resident at Ty Llandaff Care Home for three years, with the first six months of care being fantastic. The staff really looked after him and would know very early on if he was becoming unwell (he was prone to aspiration). For the last two and a half years, the staff turnover was extremely high with a lot of agency use - this would mean they did not know my grandad and his triggers for illness, subsequently putting my grandad in a dangerously unwell state more than a handful of times. Yes, the facilities are nice, the building is modern and the rooms are too, with the use of a cinema, etc, but all of that means nothing if residents with more complex levels of care are stuck in their rooms. Myself/Sister were frequent visitors and our hearts would break seeing him in the state he was left in at times. In my opinion, the quality and standard of care fell well below what I would expect for any vulnerable elderly adult, let alone for our loved one.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review and we are sorry for the experience that your Grandad had at Ty Llandaff. We do take all comments seriously and have been working in partnership with our Regulatory Authority and Local Authorities and have made many positive changes at the home...
Such a fantastic home for my Aunty! I am not able to visit often due to me living so far away but I visited last year and attended an outdoor tea party for residents and their families and I visited again this week and I couldn’t be happier with how my Aunty is treated and the care and facilities for her. The staff are amazing and nothing is ever too much trouble and they truly care, communication is good and the management are always accessible and happy to answer any questions, even the senior and area manager who I had the pleasure of meeting as they were pouring tea for the residents at the tea party. It feels like every member of staff, no matter what level, class the residents as family and it’s so nice to see. The home is spotless and the food looks amazing and my Aunty is always full of praise for the staff, who look happy too. I drive home from here feeling happy because I can see how happy and content my Aunty is and this hasn’t always been the case with other care homes.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are delighted to hear your kind words and we're glad that you and your family member are receiving the excellent service we strive to provide.
To all the wonderful staff who looked after our mum. Although Mum was only with you for a short time before she passed away, it was such a positive experience for her and so reassuring for us as a family that she was being cared for by the lovely staff in Ty Llandaff. Mum had nothing but praise for the kindness of everyone. We know that each and every one of you went over and above to help her feel welcome and settle in, for which we will be eternally grateful. Please keep up your amazing work. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you again.
Thank you for your recent review of Ty Llandaff Care Home. We loved having Mum stay with us and she will be sadly missed by all the staff at Ty Llandaff. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this time.
Due to the recent hard work of the new manager, supported by the staff, the standard and discipline in the home have improved dramatically, across the board. The staff now seem happier and the general aura in the home has now improved noticeably. The food has improved of late and my mum likes the new menu system. I would like to place on record, my thanks to the reception staff, who have been really supportive, through what has been a difficult time for me. I would also like to thank all the staff for their support and kindness to my mother.
We would like to thank you for your lovely feedback and comments. Thank you from us all at Ty Llandaff.
My mum was transferred Ty Llandaff for the final two weeks of her life, as the local hospice were not able to provide care for her. Though Mum was only there for a short time, we were so pleased she was there. As it was end-of-life care we were able to visit her at any time we wanted and in between times could call any time for an update on how she was. Due to her dementia, Mum was frequently confused and distressed, which sometimes led to challenging behaviours. As a family, we were all in awe of the compassion and patience the staff showed her. Ty Llandaff is a lovely place; the room was spacious and comfortable and the food (little of it though she ate) was lovely. (The little touches, such as bringing tea in a pot, with cups and saucers, made all the difference.) However, it was the staff that made the biggest difference to Mum's final days. Every single person was so kind and caring. We are so grateful. We will never forget them.
From all the team at Ty Llandaff, we all wish you our deepest condolences and we will miss Mum very much. I will make sure the team see this review. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review at such a hard time. We are so privileged that we were able to meet and help to make the transition easier for Mum and your family. Sending big hugs from all the team at Ty Llandaff.
My grandad was a resident at Ty Llandaff Care Home for three years. This came to an abrupt end in June 2021 after the quality of care had decreased to a point where it was dangerous for him to be a resident. High turnover of staff, care plans not followed and high-risk residents were put at risk regularly - this was acknowledged by the management team in place. Facilities such as the cinema and gym are great but sadly are hardly used by residents, particularly those who need more complex levels of care. Often, less mobile residents are left in their rooms and not encouraged to take place in activities. As stated already, the facilities are good but overall the quality of care delivered falls way below the standard one would expect for their loved one.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review and we are sorry for the experience that your Grandad had at Ty Llandaff. We do take all comments seriously and have been working in partnership with our Regulatory Authority and Local Authorities and have made many positive changes at the home...
Dad moved to Ty Llandaff after a long stay in hospital in March 2020, a week before covid hit. For the last two years I can't fault the care at Ty Llandaff given the circumstances, the food was always excellent, the staff attentive and the place was always clean. Dad made some real friends amongst the staff and residents.
Thank you for your lovely comments, this will be passed onto the team. Your Dad is dearly missed by us all. Thank you from Ty Llandaff Team.
More recently, we have found the current management team very approachable and understanding. We are so glad that we moved our mother to T? Llandaff.
Mum has been a resident for over a year. She has settled in so well and appears to be very much at home here. Staff are very friendly and attentive.
Since my grandmother moved into Ty Llandaff in August 2018 the carers and staff have treated her with dignity, compassion and as an individual. I have enjoyed dining here with my grandmother. The food here is second to none. The communication between the home and relatives has certainly improved since the employment of a family liaison officer. The new visitors' room and easy booking system have made such a difference to our family. Thank you Ty Llandaff for being so welcoming, always.
Thank you for your comments, we look forward to the time we can welcome you back into the home and say thank you for your support during these strange times. Thank you again from the TY Llandaff Team.
The staff are extremely attentive to the residents they never seem to be kept waiting at all - very patient and sincere. It feels more like a hotel than a care home. Warm and welcoming whenever I visit. My father is extremely happy here and is encouraged to participate with all the goings-on! He's a new man since arriving here - talking better and a more upbeat approach to his life.
Thank you for your kind comments.
