The staff and management were brilliant to my mother-in-law, who needed urgent respite care following a flood. They organised care and room very quickly considering the issues. The room is spacious and well equipped, and the food and treats are amazing.

I cannot rate Seccombe Court highly enough. They have gone above and beyond for my mother and welcomed her and the whole family so warmly. They are all so friendly and caring, and my mother is happy here.
If I could rate them 10-stars, I would.

All staff, no matter their role, take the time to talk to us when visiting, and they show such an interest in my mother's life before coming to reside at Seccombe.

There is consistency in staffing, which is reassuring to deal with the same people each visit - for family and for my mother, who has dementia. Calm atmosphere, good communication, prompt response to queries raised. Lovely outdoor area, which could probably be used more than it has been, on mild days. So impressed by the level of care and concern of the home's manager - true compassion and commitment to the wellbeing of residents. Superb activities coordinator. Welcoming reception staff.

Since the first lockdown last March the staff at Gracewell of Adderbury have done the most amazing job in keeping all their residents, including my mum, safe and Covid free. Due to Government restrictions visiting has been difficult but the home has done all it can to enable Covid safe ways of communicating and visiting for us all. I believe that all the staff have done everything they can to keep all residents safe, well looked after, and where possible with lockdown restrictions, active and entertained. My mum really has been in the best possible place since she first moved in at the start of February 2019. A big thank you to everyone at Gracewell of Adderbury - keep up the good work and we look forward to the time when we can all meet again face to face.

Overall Experience
My mother has been a resident of Gracewell of Adderbury since it first opened. From the first point of contact with this care home, I have been impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of all staff. My mother has dementia and, as the condition has progressed, has become difficult for the staff to handle at times. They have always been patient and caring and have done their best to suggest strategies to avoid her becoming distressed.

Whilst she seems to understand little of what is going on and is often reluctant to mix with other residents, the staff make an effort to include her in various activities. I was so pleased the first time I visited to find her engaged in creating bird feeders with the lovely lady who runs the activity programme, quite the opposite of her previous home which was more show than substance. The staff at Gracewell of Adderbury have been amazing during the pandemic and there has been a constant flow of information which has been very reassuring.

This is our first experience of a care home and it was entirely my mother's decision to move. Following our initial approach, admissions manager was very helpful in providing all the information we needed. Resident for a day did not happen due to sickness, but admissions manager instead spent over two hours talking with and showing my mother around. Good understanding of needs in providing a good-sized room with plenty of natural light. A few hiccups since moving in (on some mornings no night staff available to shower Mum before breakfast, so she missed shower and had to dress without any assistance) but this appears to have been resolved.l In summary of first month: Mum has settled in very well; staff are very friendly and helpful; she is thoroughly enjoying meals; she has found a good number of 'like-minded people' in her household and is joining in with most of the activities. We would like to see more opportunities for her to get outside, but realise that we are going into the winter so this may bot be practicable in the immediate future.

Gracewell of Adderbury is a care home I am very pleased to recommend. It has a happy atmosphere, and all the staff are friendly and caring; the wellbeing of the resident is their focus. Particularly reassuring, was the sensitive way in which my husband's admission was handled. A visit to our home by the home admissions advisor gave a thorough, detailed and unhurried description of the home and admission process. Clothes and personal effects collected that day to greet my husband's arrival along with a card, flowers and sweets.

We cannot praise Gracewell of Adderbury enough. The care given to my mother was exceptional. The surroundings and fabric of the home are superb but it's the staff that make it so fantastic. They are like one big family who really do care. They not only looked after Mum, they looked after our family when we visited, kept us updated on Mums progress and they really make the place feel like home. Thank you "Gracewell team".

Dad recently moved to Gracewell of Adderbury. He has settled in really well.

Large ensuite room, communal areas very clean. Lots of activities going on. The process of moving in went very smoothly even down to the staff labelling all of his clothes.

I just want to say how much we appreciate the tender care, given with such kindness, that Mum is receiving. Everyone is unreservedly patient and friendly. A special mention must go to one particular member of staff who is truly wonderful with, not just mum, but all the residents. His presence makes such a difference and it is clear he is loved by residents and staff alike.

Wojciech KuczkowskiJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2022

I’ve been a General Manager for over ten years in other care homes. I worked my way up from care roles into management. I originally trained in management and marketing in my native Poland.

I was very positive about working for Care UK because it has a great reputation, and puts residents at the heart of everything it does. Its values of Caring, Passionate and Teamwork closely echo my own.

There’s always something new to learn and to tackle in this role, but there’s a solution to every challenge and, ultimately, seeing residents enjoying life here at Seccombe Court is what makes everything worthwhile. Knowing I’m making a positive impact on their lives is what motivates me. I’m very proud of the way the team delivers exceptional care to all residents and their loved ones. Seeing that every day makes Seccombe Court an amazing place to work.
