My dear friend, at 102-years-old, had decided that she could no longer look after herself at home. So she chose Gracewell on our first visit. After she moved in, in September 2019, she became very unwell for three months, but due to the loving care and professional and medical support she received from
Gracewell staff, she improved and is now well and very happy in her new home. They have made her remaining years a positive outlook for her. The staff go beyond what is expected of them and the catering staff bend over backwards to ensure each resident has a meal which they will enjoy. They cater to each individual's need.

Outstanding care for husband and wife who lived on 2 separate floors. The lead of support staff were excellent. Mention must be made of certain staff on 1st floor and ground floor - sorry but they were so good!

Wonderful staff. Actually all staff on both ground and 1st floor have helped my relative who was sad all of a sudden and made it possible for her to have an Italian dinner with another resident - they thought it was amazing, as so did I. Cannot thank all the staff enough. Love it here.

All aspects of the home were excellent from the welcome to the exit. The staff took time to get to know my father and family and were interested in his life and him as a person.
His stay was sadly very short but he received excellent personalised care and the staff were very thoughtful and respectful.

Gracewell of Bath has given my father the extra care and support my sisters and I were hoping for. Dad was one of the first residents in 2017 and the carers have been lovely in getting to know him and his ways very well and helping him feel valued and content in his late 90's. He particularly enjoyed
the good food and the beautiful garden. In dad's last few days he was given the medication and care needed by sensitive and experienced staff to ensure he died peacefully and with dignity. The staff also gave us, his family, care and support at such a difficult time.

My lovely Aunt came to Gracewell the day after it opened last year, 2017. Every time I visit her I am impressed by the staff, their courtesy, care and consideration are exemplary. I was lucky enough to attend on the afternoon of their 1st-year birthday party in April. The staff were happy and obviously
proud of the achievement of their first year. They treat all the residents with patience, calmness and respect at all times.
Whenever I come to see my Aunt I am always offered a drink and something to eat if I wish. My need for glasses of water is becoming legendary. I find the building attractive, welcoming and in good condition at all times.

When my father arrived at Gracewell he was in a poor state despite his dementia. To watch him blossom and enjoy life again - even in a limited way, has been a joy. The staff here are second to none and treat him with love, dignity and respect at all times. The food is always beautifully presented. Always
a great welcome from whoever is on reception on arrival - care not just for the patient but the whole family.

My friend had four weeks respite care over Christmas. The care home setting was attractive, clean, bright and non-institutional. Staff were unfailingly warm, friendly and helpful as well as competent and professional. Visitors were always welcomed. Residents were treated as individuals with respect

Our mum has been very well looked after and we are glad that we moved her when we did.
The staff are friendly and have got to know us as a family too.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. Issues arise because the resident is difficult. I feel there needs to be greater training in dealing with difficult behaviour. The resident is not leaving her room to take advantage of the activities on offer and is refusing to shower. She is, therefore, looking
neglected. There should be a way to encourage her without forcing her. All meals are taken in her room but I think she should be asked to eat in the dining area for mobility and socialising.

My mother moved to Gracewell of Bath after a spell in hospital. Her physical and mental state improved rapidly with the excellent care provided and the appetising food. The environment is pristine and the staff consistently helpful and caring. I really fell mum is in safe hands and being well cared

My father came to Gracewell of Bath in September this year and although he has only been a resident for about six weeks, it is no exaggeration to say that he has flourished. He has regained his self-confidence, put on weight, thanks to the excellent standard of all meals and is much sharper mentally.
This home is exactly what I wanted for dad. The staff are the real stars, they are so caring and patient. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are first rate. I only want what is best for dad. He now has that and I have peace of mind!

My father was transferred to Gracewell of Bath from another nursing home where he was not receiving the care he needed.
After a month at Gracewell, he is a different man - his personality has returned, he is up and dressed in a chair every day, talking again and, despite his vascular dementia, is enjoying
the happy, caring environment.
I and the staff cannot believe the difference in him now from when he arrived. He was obviously very depressed before, but now, after much love, care and attention at Gracewell he is a much happier man.

My husband with Parkinson's and dementia settled in well despite arriving from hospital.
This was helped by well trained, sympathetic and intelligent staff.
The place is relaxed and well run and the resident's individuality is appreciated and accommodated.
The GP visits regularly.
Visitors are welcome
at meal times and are always offered tea/coffee etc.
We visited several other nursing homes in our search.
We are very pleased with our choice.

Mum Moved to Gracewell in May 2017 after breaking her hip and needing nursing care. Mum had been in care for 6 years and this was her 4th home due to her developing dementia. I knew from the moment I was greeted on my first visit that this was to be Mums final home and resting place. Sadly Mum passed
away at Gracewell, however, she could not have had a more caring last 4 months of her life. Gracewell, from the outset, listened very carefully to what we wished for Mum and I believe followed this through. Mum was cared for with great dignity and respect, was kept spotlessly clean and all of her needs met. I believe that Gracewell has an excellent recruitment and training schedule as all of the staff met the same high standard which, in my opinion, is not always the same in all care homes. I thoroughly recommend Grace and am indebted to them for the wonderful care they gave Mum in the last few months of her life. Thank you.

In this role, it’s important to lead by example and to keep a calm head. Knowledge and experience are important, I started out as a carer and worked my way up, so I know the challenges faced by my team.

I am focused on continuous improvement and have worked on a number of initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for people with dementia, including using technology to promote health and wellbeing.
