I visit often to come and see several dear friends who reside here. I am always so impressed with the welcome I receive from all the staff, from upper management right through to those dedicated carers who all take the time to talk, smile and most of all, it shows how much they love what they do. All
my friends I visit are so grateful for all the love and care they receive. I recommend everyone I know to come here.

My mother has been a resident at Liberham Lodge for nearly 5 years and has been very happy due to the well-cared-for, comfortable surroundings and wonderful, endlessly cheerful staff. This year has seen a serious decline in her health and the care she has received must be recognised. The nursing team
and all the carers have shown extreme patience and kindness to Mum. Close attention has been paid to all her medical issues. She has always been treated with dignity and generosity of time, as well as concern to provide anything that will make Mum more comfortable or lift her spirits.
We are so grateful that she has been so well looked after. Thank you to the whole team.

The staff are very friendly and helpful at all times. The celebration of my mother's birthday was outstanding, for her and all the residents that attended with food and drink. The manager is always on hand to talk to and if a problem comes up he quickly sorts it. I was very surprised at the Ofsted report
only being Good with all that they do, especially as visited other care homes and they are not a patch on this one.

My husband who has Alzheimer's has only been at Liberham Lodge for 3.5 months. He seems to be well-settled and as happy as possible. He is still asking to go home on a regular basis but is not seriously worried. He loves to go outside in the garden which he considers to be his, it is a great asset to
the home.

Our mother has been in high care at Liberham Lodge for two years and is being well looked after by carers, nursing staff, administration and management across the facility. Our mother's care and social well-being are a highlight to me. On a recent visit we shared a great lunch in the Bistro. I live
in Australia and regular video call conversations require extra help from staff to get organised. Which they are always happy to do.

Mum is now a permanent resident following respite and a short spell in hospital and is now very happy to call Liberham Lodge home. The nurses and carers do such a fine job of looking after her with kindness, patience and care and, as family members, we also feel totally supported (no request is too
much) by the management team. The beautiful gardens, décor and facilities make it a very comfortable place enhanced by the activities, catering and admin teams who create a warm, happy and fun environment for the residents.

We are lucky to have such a wonderful care home nearby. The staff are professional, welcoming and friendly. My husband has been on the memory care floor for 2 years and now thinks of it as home. The care is very good, but the atmosphere on the floor fluctuates depending on the care staff. One senior
care assistant is excellent, the residents are calm, happy relaxed and behaving well, They are treated normally with insight and humour. The idiosyncrasies and personality of each individual is recognised. On other occasions, the residents become noise, unsettled and disruptive. There is not so much personal and natural engagement with them. Needs are addressed and catered for, but administrative jobs take preference over face-to-face interaction.
The barber's shop is a great success. My husband is happy to be shaved by the excellent senior care assistant who instigated this. She is now shaving men from the other floors too.
Reply from Samantha Debenham, PA to Marketing Director at Liberham LodgeIt's great to hear that you have had a positive experience at Liberham Lodge and your husband has settled in well. It's also wonderful to hear that there is a senior care assistant who provides excellent care and engages with the residents in a way that recognises their individuality and personality. However, it's also concerning to hear that you feel the atmosphere on the floor fluctuates depending on the team members, and that some colleagues may not provide the same level of engagement with residents. It's important that everyone provides excellent care to ensure that the residents' needs are fully met, and we’ll definitely look into your concerns, providing further training or actions as needed with the team to make sure the high quality of care is always consistent.

It's encouraging to hear that the barber's shop is a success and that the senior care assistant is providing excellent care in this area as well. This highlights the importance of finding ways to engage with residents in meaningful ways that go beyond just meeting their basic needs. If you have any other comments, suggestions or concerns, then please do let us know, and thank you again for taking the time to submit your feedback.

My mother moved to the home late year. The home offers a wide of activities which is ideal for her. As my mother is still relatively active she is still able to take advantage of organised outings which she enjoys. Her room is clean and comfortable and she is well cared for. The staff seem to be fully
aware of her needs and are attentive. My mother still wants to have her independence and Liberham Lodge is contributing to achieve this aim.

Our parents are receiving the best care at Liberham. The team are so supportive both to them and us as a family. Any personal requests are always fulfilled. For example, mum loves a bath! The Home Admission Advisor was wonderful in setting up the support for mum initially and dad. Liberham Lodge is
in a great setting -with amazing care and appropriate activities if the residents wish to join in. But is also very restful if they want a quiet day.

I speak to my mother-in-law every day. Every time she talks about Liberham Lodge, she tells me how kind the staff are towards her, how well cared for she is, how comfortable her room is and that the food is very well prepared. There is also a busy diary of activities run by enthusiastic leaders.
Ahead
of her move to Liberham Lodge last November, staff spent much time with us, discussing my mother-in-law's needs. I found them to be very kind and accommodating.
I am very grateful that there is such a well-run care home within my mother-in-law's community so that she is still able to maintain contact with her local friends and church.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.881)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.881) out of 10 for Liberham Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 29 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.881 for Liberham Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (306 Excellents x 5) + (35 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 344 Ratings = 4.881
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Liberham Lodge is based on 29 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8, which has been reached with 29 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2016

I’m an experienced home manager, and I joined Care UK from another big care provider in 2016. I wanted to be part of a more proactive company that would help me achieve my goals. Care UK has a very good reputation and is well known for caring as much for its colleagues as its residents.

I believe that, as a home manager, you’re as good as your team. That’s why I always make sure I’m giving colleagues the support they need to do their jobs well. I love walking around the home, checking in with them and the residents. It’s wonderful when residents take the time to sit and chat to me and share what they’ve been doing that day.

Georgie Wilkins

Job Title: Customer Relations Manager Joined: 2021

I’m Georgie Wilkins, and I’ve been working as a Customer Relations Manager with Care UK for the past 5 years.

I’m really passionate about supporting people and being there for families when they’re making such important decisions about care. I understand how emotional and sometimes overwhelming the journey can feel, so I always try to make things as simple, clear and reassuring as possible.

For me, it’s all about building genuine relationships. I take the time to listen, understand what matters most, and make sure every person feels heard, valued and comfortable. I want families to feel supported from that very first conversation and to know they can always come to me with any questions or worries.

I’d describe myself as warm, approachable and understanding, and I pride myself on creating a friendly, welcoming experience for everyone I meet. It’s important to me that people feel at ease and confident in the choices they’re making.

Being part of Care UK means a lot to me, and I’m proud to work alongside such a supportive team to help create a place where residents truly feel at home.
