Managers efficient, friendly and professional. Arranged admission quickly following a hospital stay. Kept family informed at all times. The staff are very friendly. Have visited home before lockdown, beautiful surroundings and rooms.
Staff seem caring for people in a dignified way. Activity girls
doing arts and crafts. Warm, inviting place. Nothing too much trouble.

I have used Claremont House for respite care for my mother over the past few years and have found it very good. I always have peace of mind that she is being very well looked after. The staff all know her and are very kind and understanding of her needs. The admin team always keep me informed when necessary
and ensure all the right equipment is in the room.
There are always activities for my mother, i.e Bingo etc and also have an onsite hairdresser.
I will continue to use the excellent service of Claremont House.

I am really fed up with Claremont House and Crown Care.
1) The garden they told me was being built last September has had nothing done to it apart from clearing some rubbish in 10 months. Consequently, Dad can't get outside at the moment and looks as pale as a sheet.
2) After 4 months of Covid-19,
their best efforts to enable visits is an old table outside and 21 visit appointment a week for 70 residents. This means that if you can book an appointment it will be cancelled if the weather is bad (in England!). I think Crown Care's efforts in this respect are simply inadequate and show a lack of care and understanding.

Both my parents have been residing at Claremont House for almost 2 years and they have very different needs and require different levels of care. The staff are kind, patient and show a high level of care, compassion, empathy and treat my parents with dignity and respect. Claremont House has very nice
communal areas and facilities that have certainly helped my Mum and Dad settle in, feel comfortable and at home in their new surroundings. I would like to thank all members of staff for looking after Mum and Dad since they arrived and keeping them safe, in particular over the last few months during this very difficult period of the Covid 19 pandemic.

Mum has been in Claremont House since it opened. I’ve had one or two issues but they have been dealt with swiftly. Staff are friendly and approachable. I’m looking forward to the garden opening as Mum can’t access outside really.
Today (6/8/20) the staff went out of their way so I could see Mum
as I haven’t seen her since before lockdown. They brought her outside for me, it was very much appreciated as I realise the staff must be extra busy at the moment and they didn’t have to do it. I believe Mum looks on Claremont as her home and is as happy as she can be with advanced dementia.

Mum has been at Claremont House for over 2 years and has generally been comfortable and content. Since lockdown it has been extremely difficult being unable to visit Mum and dealing with concerns that we may never be able to see her in person again. However, we have kept in contact via regular video
calls and it has been great to see that Mum is being so well looked after by all of the staff who are cheery and positive despite the extra burdens placed on them during this time. I would really like to thank everyone involved in Mum's care for their hard work and for looking after her with kindness and affection - particularly over these last months. It is especially good to see that mum's health seems to be better now than when lockdown began! I do hope that it won't be very much longer before we can properly spend time together again.

I would like to thank all of the wonderful, caring staff at Claremont House for the level of care which they have shown Mum during the last 2 years, but especially during the last few difficult months, when we have not been able to visit. They have done everything possible to ensure residents’ safety
and to keep spirits up. The staff have been very willing to operate the tablet or Mum’s phone so that we have been able to have regular chats, which have made all the difference. It is reassuring to know that Mum is in such good hands when I cannot visit her daily due to the pandemic.

Kindness, patience and caring are three words that epitomise this Care Home. Mum has been a resident for almost a year and has been treated with dignity. In the period of the COVID 19 pandemic the home has taken every measure to protect all resident and has provided activities to help residents who
could no longer go out. During this time we had FaceTime calls with Mum and are now pleased to see her outdoors.
Prior to lockdown, Mum enjoyed her 90th birthday in the Care Home. The staff gave her a party which could be enjoyed by us the relatives and fellow residents.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable. My only criticism was that, prior to lockdown, Mum's clothes were not always hung up or folded away but left in a pile in her chair and it was hard to tell which were clean and which were awaiting laundry.
Our thanks go to all staff who are looking after Mum.

The staff at Claremont have been outstanding during the Covid pandemic. They have contacted me when Mum has had issues. Mum was very confused at the beginning and staff members used her iPad to contact me to reassure her.
It has meant such a lot to our family, knowing that Mum is being cared for so
well by everyone at Claremont. We really appreciate everything the staff have done at a time when they have been worried about their own safety.
Having spent a lot of time with Mum in the home, I know what a lovely, family atmosphere the home has. The staff are always pleasant, they help Mum when she’s confused and they have made us both feel part of the Claremont family. Thank you to all the staff.

My mum stayed at Claremont House for 2 years before she passed away last week. Initially, she stayed for respite care before becoming a permanent resident. Situated on the ground floor, she loved her beautifully decorated room and loved watching people pass by her window. She was a very poorly lady
but was very contented and loved living at Claremont. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very well cared for. Yes, there was the odd niggle but the staff worked so hard and were extremely busy. When Mum’s health started to deteriorate, I really can’t thank the staff and management enough for their exceptional care. Mum felt loved and she felt safe. Carers still managed to make Mum smile even at the very end. Thank you to everyone but particular thanks to the manager and those that knew my mum best and cared exceptionally well for her.

As before, the care was superb, with consideration, and dignified. End of life care, excellent, though tough, due to COVID-19 problems. My wife passed away comfortably and peacefully with the staff with her. Under trying conditions the staff worked tirelessly and they deserve a medal. Well done all.

Cannot fault the care staff at Claremont House with how they look after our Nana. They go above and beyond to make sure she is well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble. They even offer help and support to us as family members. Nana is always singing their praises when we see her and loves living
at Claremont House despite not wanting to go into a care home originally. They have completely changed her view of them.

Could not have had better care anywhere. All the staff have been absolutely amazing.
Nothing was ever too much, from cleaners, caretakers, carers or admin, they all chowed such amazing knowledge of clients and family.
When the end came, they stayed back after shift; just to be with our uncle. Amazing
team.

Following a spell in hospital, my 99 year old mother was in Claremont House only for a very short period before she sadly passed away, hence my experience of the home is somewhat limited. What I can say is she received a lovely warm welcome when she arrived on a Saturday evening, and her room was spotlessly
clean. All the staff I had dealings with were lovely people.
Prior to choosing Claremont House, I looked at a couple other care homes in the area, but I thought Claremont was the best by far. The price per week is a little more expensive than other care homes I looked at, but I felt the extra cost fairly reflected the quality of the home when compared to others.

We have been very impressed by both the quality of the care that my mother receives at Claremont and by the place itself, which (judging by our experience of the ground floor) feels more like a hotel. The staff are very caring and treat my mother with kindness and respect - some even treat her like
a member of their own family. The food is good - and there is always a choice of 2 main dishes, plus an alternative menu of more standard options eg omelettes etc. The admin staff are also efficient and professional, responding positively to requests where possible. We are very pleased with our choice.

I was offered a room on the date I needed to leave the hospital which was excellent and even though I did not arrive at the home until 7.30pm in the evening, I was made welcome and offered food.
The home was nice and quiet and peaceful, which is exactly what I needed to recover sufficiently in my ten-day
stay to go home. All of the staff were pleasant and friendly and approachable for anything I needed.
I would recommend this home to anyone.

My mother came into Claremont House as a permanent resident after being hospitalised. She was underweight, miserable and very confused, with no interest in food. Her health had been declining over the last couple of years and thanks to the dedicated care of the staff she has made a remarkable recovery.
She is now happy, contented, gained weight and is back to her normal self with just short term memory loss. We cannot thank the staff enough and the care she has received for her amazing recovery and would not hesitate to recommend Claremont House.

Mum has been at Claremont House for 18 months. During this time she has enjoyed excellent treatment. The staff are very kind and considerate and treat their residents with the utmost respect. Additionally, they are extremely pro-active in looking for ways to enhance the lives of their residents. What
complaints there are, are dealt with swiftly and firmly by the senior management. The food is excellent and goes way beyond that expected in a care home.
