The home has been proactive in keeping me informed of developments throughout the year and informing me of the situation with regards to visiting arrangements. They have tried to try and maintain contact.

We looked at lots of care homes, trying to find the best place for my mum. Claremont House stood out for lots of reasons and was by far the best care home we visited - good quality rooms and facilities, but it was the care team that really stood out. Professional, friendly and, of course, caring. They have done a really good job over the last year with COVID-19 - not an easy time, and they have kept on smiling and maintained a sense of humour.

All the staff go out of their way to make sure my relative is well looked after and has everything they need. In what has been a very trying time for everyone during the Covid-19 pandemic, the staff have been amazing. They are all stars in my eyes!

My mum has recently been admitted to this home after having a fail placement in another home, she is thriving and so happy. As a family, we are so pleased with her care and would recommend this home. The activities are great, and the staff have so much interaction with residents.

I cannot speak more highly about the care my father has received whilst being a resident in this establishment.
I feel content he is happy, well cared for, and he very much enjoys the environment.

The staff are always pleasant and genuinely care about my fathers well being.

My mums stay at Claremont started on lockdown day 2020. She has dementia, and we were struggling to keep her safe at home. The staff have been fantastic during what has been a very challenging year. Yes, I have not been able to see her as often as I would like or as close, but all restrictions have been understandable, and it is her safety that counts, not my needs. Mum got Covid, and again, the staff were brilliant and understanding, and with the right care and measures of safety to protect everyone, she came through it. Looking after elderly residents with dementia is really hard it is a vocation. Every member of staff I have dealt with have been lovely, and despite still feeling guilty about taking my mum to be looked after by someone else, I feel that she is safe, well cared for and in the right place. When I saw her yesterday, she had her nails painted, her hair done, and looked very smart and was happy. The only improvement would be a better outside space.

Due to my mum's advanced dementia and her having a recent fall, we felt as a family, Mum needed a little bit of respite. Myself and my family spent time looking for the right place and decided together on Claremont House. Since being in Claremont House, my mum's health has improved massively. She is receiving excellent care and we would recommend it to anyone.

My nana just moved into Claremont House, after a fall and being in hospital. She was very unwell at the time of moving in, however, since moving in she has really picked up. I ring regularly and the staff are always more than helpful, enabling me to speak to her and her sounding really happy, puts my mind at rest.

Managers efficient, friendly and professional. Arranged admission quickly following a hospital stay. Kept family informed at all times. The staff are very friendly. Have visited home before lockdown, beautiful surroundings and rooms.

Staff seem caring for people in a dignified way. Activity girls doing arts and crafts. Warm, inviting place. Nothing too much trouble.

I have used Claremont House for respite care for my mother over the past few years and have found it very good. I always have peace of mind that she is being very well looked after. The staff all know her and are very kind and understanding of her needs. The admin team always keep me informed when necessary and ensure all the right equipment is in the room.
There are always activities for my mother, i.e Bingo etc and also have an onsite hairdresser.

I will continue to use the excellent service of Claremont House.

I am really fed up with Claremont House and Crown Care.
1) The garden they told me was being built last September has had nothing done to it apart from clearing some rubbish in 10 months. Consequently, Dad can't get outside at the moment and looks as pale as a sheet.

2) After 4 months of Covid-19, their best efforts to enable visits is an old table outside and 21 visit appointment a week for 70 residents. This means that if you can book an appointment it will be cancelled if the weather is bad (in England!). I think Crown Care's efforts in this respect are simply inadequate and show a lack of care and understanding.

Both my parents have been residing at Claremont House for almost 2 years and they have very different needs and require different levels of care. The staff are kind, patient and show a high level of care, compassion, empathy and treat my parents with dignity and respect. Claremont House has very nice communal areas and facilities that have certainly helped my Mum and Dad settle in, feel comfortable and at home in their new surroundings. I would like to thank all members of staff for looking after Mum and Dad since they arrived and keeping them safe, in particular over the last few months during this very difficult period of the Covid 19 pandemic.

Mum has been in Claremont House since it opened. I’ve had one or two issues but they have been dealt with swiftly. Staff are friendly and approachable. I’m looking forward to the garden opening as Mum can’t access outside really.

Today (6/8/20) the staff went out of their way so I could see Mum as I haven’t seen her since before lockdown. They brought her outside for me, it was very much appreciated as I realise the staff must be extra busy at the moment and they didn’t have to do it. I believe Mum looks on Claremont as her home and is as happy as she can be with advanced dementia.

Mum has been at Claremont House for over 2 years and has generally been comfortable and content. Since lockdown it has been extremely difficult being unable to visit Mum and dealing with concerns that we may never be able to see her in person again. However, we have kept in contact via regular video calls and it has been great to see that Mum is being so well looked after by all of the staff who are cheery and positive despite the extra burdens placed on them during this time. I would really like to thank everyone involved in Mum's care for their hard work and for looking after her with kindness and affection - particularly over these last months. It is especially good to see that mum's health seems to be better now than when lockdown began! I do hope that it won't be very much longer before we can properly spend time together again.

I would like to thank all of the wonderful, caring staff at Claremont House for the level of care which they have shown Mum during the last 2 years, but especially during the last few difficult months, when we have not been able to visit. They have done everything possible to ensure residents’ safety and to keep spirits up. The staff have been very willing to operate the tablet or Mum’s phone so that we have been able to have regular chats, which have made all the difference. It is reassuring to know that Mum is in such good hands when I cannot visit her daily due to the pandemic.

Kindness, patience and caring are three words that epitomise this Care Home. Mum has been a resident for almost a year and has been treated with dignity. In the period of the COVID 19 pandemic the home has taken every measure to protect all resident and has provided activities to help residents who could no longer go out. During this time we had FaceTime calls with Mum and are now pleased to see her outdoors.
Prior to lockdown, Mum enjoyed her 90th birthday in the Care Home. The staff gave her a party which could be enjoyed by us the relatives and fellow residents.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable. My only criticism was that, prior to lockdown, Mum's clothes were not always hung up or folded away but left in a pile in her chair and it was hard to tell which were clean and which were awaiting laundry.

Our thanks go to all staff who are looking after Mum.

The staff at Claremont have been outstanding during the Covid pandemic. They have contacted me when Mum has had issues. Mum was very confused at the beginning and staff members used her iPad to contact me to reassure her.
It has meant such a lot to our family, knowing that Mum is being cared for so well by everyone at Claremont. We really appreciate everything the staff have done at a time when they have been worried about their own safety.

Having spent a lot of time with Mum in the home, I know what a lovely, family atmosphere the home has. The staff are always pleasant, they help Mum when she’s confused and they have made us both feel part of the Claremont family. Thank you to all the staff.

My mum stayed at Claremont House for 2 years before she passed away last week. Initially, she stayed for respite care before becoming a permanent resident. Situated on the ground floor, she loved her beautifully decorated room and loved watching people pass by her window. She was a very poorly lady but was very contented and loved living at Claremont. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very well cared for. Yes, there was the odd niggle but the staff worked so hard and were extremely busy. When Mum’s health started to deteriorate, I really can’t thank the staff and management enough for their exceptional care. Mum felt loved and she felt safe. Carers still managed to make Mum smile even at the very end. Thank you to everyone but particular thanks to the manager and those that knew my mum best and cared exceptionally well for her.

As before, the care was superb, with consideration, and dignified. End of life care, excellent, though tough, due to COVID-19 problems. My wife passed away comfortably and peacefully with the staff with her. Under trying conditions the staff worked tirelessly and they deserve a medal. Well done all.
