I'd like to start with a wholehearted and heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Cedar Mews. They're a truly lovely bunch of people who treat residents like friends and family.
Mum was looked after so well from the moment she moved in and each time we visited we left knowing she was safe and happy. Her health and well-being improved while she was there which is a testament to the staff and the high level of care she received.

Special thanks must go to the wonderful Dementia Care Manager who went above and beyond, as well as all mum's carers on Lavender Lane. Thank you so much.

Our family are absolutely delighted with the care that she is receiving at Cedar Mews.
Cedar Mews has a very experienced and capable staffing team, who are able to care for her dementia and Alzheimer's to the highest standards. All care homes have individual care plans, but we, the family, feel that at Cedar Mews, it is very professionally considered and delivered to cater for her complex personal needs. As she is very physically fit, the team have amended the care plans to adapt to her changing behaviours.
Cedar Mews has a very extensive programme of activities for those living there and the residents are encouraged to participate. These include dancing, tai chi and other physical activities, which she loves and lots of arts and crafts, which she is not so keen on, but is very well attended by others.

The dementia care manager and dementia team leader are excellent and support us incredibly well. Highly recommended as a top quality provider. We would not want her to be anywhere else.

Mum joined Cedar Mews for end-of-life care in September 2023. We took Mum for her consultation with a consultant, he couldn't believe the difference in Mum. He said:" It's a sign of a very good care home that your mum has done so well. It's a sign she's looked after extremely well, takes medication, is eating well and looked so much better." I have to thank all of the managers and the staff for being so caring and keeping Mum so well.

Mum was only in Cedar Mews from October until her death in December. She was so settled and happy, however, during that time. It was lovely to see staff were always welcome and handled the death with kindness and sensitivity at the same time as being thoroughly professional. I always felt able to speak with them i.e. any concerns.

The greatest asset a company can have is its staff. Well in Cedar Mews this asset is worth its weight in gold. Cedar Mews staff and management are very friendly, extremely patient, efficient and kind. I cannot emphasise enough how excellent all the staff and management are.

I am so lucky to have found (and looked at quite a few) a home that took such great care of my mum and that my mum has settled in so well.

Mum has been with Cedar Mews Care Home for seven years and has received the best care you could ask for. They know her so well and the care she receives reflects this, they know when she's not well. They are all so kind and caring and make Mum smile. I can leave Mum knowing she is well cared for. They all say we love your mum. All the staff are amazing, as it's not just a job to them, they genuinely care about every resident.

My mother has resided at Cedar Mews for over 4 years now and I simply couldn’t be happier with the care and attention she receives. Her Alzheimer's prevents her from being able to carry out basic self-care or from feeding herself. All of this is carried out with utmost care and understanding by a remarkable team of professionals.
Attention to detail and preservation of dignity is at the heart of everything they do.

Your loved ones could not be in better hands. As a family, we have no hesitation in recommending Cedar Mews.

The dementia lead welcomed my mother for her second visit to Cedar Mews Care Home, Birstall.
My mother was treated with the utmost dignity, respect and kindness whilst at the home but she unfortunately passed away during her stay.
The staff were there to support my mother throughout her final hours and extended their support to me which I greatly appreciated.

I would like to thank the whole team for their compassion and empathy throughout this difficult period. Thank you all.

My grandad has been with Cedar Mews Care Home for only a few weeks after leaving another care home, he has returned to himself again and is now the happy man we know and love. The care and love he is receiving are giving all his family so much comfort and we love how much he is doing with them too.

My Mum has a rare form of dementia which means she can hardly speak anymore, yet the wonderful carers at Cedar Mews have built a wonderful relationship with her. The team have become like an extended family to us, they are so kind and diligent with all the residents. This home is really rare in the level of care it provides and that is due to the wonderful people, their compassion and always going the extra mile. I couldn't recommend it highly enough and it is a comfort to know Mum is safe and beautifully cared for. We are welcomed in daily and the atmosphere is relaxed and so reassuring. Mum is happy and always laughing you couldn't really ask for more.

As soon as I walked into Cedar Mews Care Home it felt friendly and relaxing. All staff were kind, happy, positive and helpful. I left very reassured that Mum was safe and happy and all of her needs were met to a very high standard. I have experienced many homes due to my mum's care needs and Cedar Mews by far exceeds the standards of any of them, it's an outstanding care home!

My stay at Cedar Mews Care Home, Birstall has helped me improve my walking and health. I was very unsteady and unwell when I came here. Everyone was very supportive and friendly so big thank you. The only thing I think that would help is a card or similar with the rules of the house, so I wouldn't break any.

Thank you, sincerely.

My husband suffers from vascular dementia and Alzheimer's. He has currently been in Cedar Mews Care Home for three months, having been in care elsewhere. On arrival, my husband was rather withdrawn, not keen on socialising, sometimes very angry and refusing personal care much of the time. Gradually, over time, he has changed dramatically. I never see him angry, he is happy to have personal care, he joins in with social activities, even trying things he has never done before. He is eating better. I regard it as miraculous but, in reality, it is down to the caring attitude of the staff who are so dedicated and genuinely fond of the residents. As to the home itself, my husband has a beautiful room, very tastefully decorated, more like a hotel than a care home.

Staff are very kind, helpful and loving towards both my parents.
Both have highly dependent needs which the staff take care of with dignity and respect. They ensure health and safety from falls and encourage eating and assist toileting.

The activities organised for the residents are fantastic. The food is excellent, including soft diets. My father had a severe GI bleed and was cared for by the staff in a very appropriate manner.

From the moment my mother was taken to Cedars Mews, the staff treated her with dignity, care and friendliness. Little things, like matching the colour of her socks to her outfit, styling her hair with clips so it didn't fall in her face and finding her a reclining chair for comfort, were all appreciated and made her happy. Mum was only there for eight months before she passed away, but we couldn't have found a better place. The staff are exceptional and became friends as well as carers. The rooms are large, modern and well-appointed. Would recommend to anyone.

Cedar Mews Care Home has been amazing right from when my mum went there. They helped settle her in well and have been amazing with her and us ever since. They truly understand dementia and treat the resident very much as a person, take the time to get to know the families and find out all about the resident's life, likes, dislikes etc.

Can't recommend them enough. Wonderful staff.
