My Nan has been at Cedar Mews for around 2-months, and I can not thank all the staff enough for what they have done for her since she has been there and what they do for her on a daily basis. The staff have made my Nan feel like it is her home, and she is living with family and nothing is ever too much,
from the food she is eating to holding her hand when she goes to sleep as she feels lonely. With COVID, I have not been able to see her for 12-weeks, but I got the chance this week. The staff were so welcoming and made sure everyone was kept safe for the visit. It was so hard to leave her but to know that she is in such amazing hands makes it easier. I would just like to thank all staff from the bottom of my heart.

My mother has been resident since 2017. It is difficult to offer sufficient praise for the quality of care she has received. Before she entered the home we were visited by two members of staff who provided us with the necessary information in a way that gave me confidence we were making the right decision.
The home struck me more like a hotel than a care home. It is bright, spotlessly clean and welcoming. The staff greeted us both as we entered on the first day and made us feel valued. My mum's room (which I had seen at the time of the introductory visit) was spacious and well equipped. The home has several lounges where residents spend their time and are able to take advantage of activities arranged by the home. Communication with family is first-class. The team have been first-rate during the COVID crisis keeping residents safe and family updated. The food is consistently excellent and varied. The home has experienced management who lead a dedicated group of carers. Highly recommend.

Finding the right place for our loved ones can be a difficult process. Following the death of our mum and dad needing to live where his Alzheimer’s could best be supported, we made the first tentative phone call. From that very first contact and then visit to Cedar Mews we were filled with confidence.
Dad has now lived there for over a year.
All staff are approachable and efficient, from the friendly receptionists, the management team, helpers and especially the people giving the day to day care and support to Dad (and to us) with all the challenges that brings.
Thoughtfulness and understanding are shown across all levels of the organisation. Any queries or concerns are resolved promptly and with the health and well-being of Dad always at the centre.
We have nothing but praise and admiration for the team at Cedar Mews. We put our trust in them to look after Dad and keep him safe - for that we are impressed and immensely grateful.

My mother started living at Cedar Mews in June 2017. During the past, almost three years, she has been extremely well cared for by staff that are exceptionally well trained, patient and supportive. Cedar Mews is now, for Mum, her home and I wish to place on record my thanks to the team for the amazing
job they do. This for me is amply demonstrated with the professional way in which they are dealing with the impact of the pandemic and communicating to those unable to meet up with their loved ones. I know that the same care and attention the team have always provided will continue to be shown to my mum during these difficult times.

When my Aunt saw a serious decline in her mobility, we came to the conclusion that she could not live safely in her own home. For a fiercely independent 90-year-old, I needed to be sure that she would enjoy the highest degree possible of care. I was quickly able to secure the last remaining room within
Cedar Mews and knew immediately that this was the place to afford her the care she needed and deserved. I have nothing but admiration for the way the home is run at every level and in particular the care, compassion and friendship shown to the residents. As a relative, I sleep every night knowing that my Aunt enjoys every manner of attention that she so deserves. I am constantly informed of activities, any concerns and her general well being. Cedar Mews has an outstanding air of good management at every level and the expressions on the faces of the residents and staff alike, show that it is a great place to be for those that need a little extra help. I know that she is in a great place.

From the moment you enter the main entrance, there is an air of quality about the home, luxurious surroundings, pleasing to the eye, very much in keeping with what my wife was used to in her own home. The facilities are first class, from the quality meals cooked by in-house chefs, comfortable lounges,
hairdressing salon, and organised activities every day. Healthcare professionals visit regularly to cater to residents needs. The love and care shown to my wife by all staff and the attention to detail have been absolutely amazing. The staff are all directly employed by the company, no agency staff, the residents not having to get to know an ever-changing number of carers, thereby creating a 'family' atmosphere which is of benefit to the residents. At present, with visitors not allowed during the Covid-19 pandemic, Cedar Mews have provided a media service to enable families to see and speak to residents from their own home. Cedar Mews is very professional in what it does.

My 15 day stay for respite care, whilst adaptions to my home were taking place, couldn’t have been made more pleasant. All staff from carers to the management team were extremely professional, friendly, compassionate and always willing to give their help regardless of how busy they were. I was dreading
the thought of having to stay in a care home for respite care but my fears quickly disappeared as soon as I arrived. First-class care from a first-class team. Thank you all so much.

We found the whole experience, from the moment we entered the door to be warm, friendly, helpful and understanding. The staff took time to introduce themselves and were interested in not just the resident's welfare but our own too. It goes without saying the home is clean, comfortable and safe. Although
this was just a short term stay for us, we would now consider this to be our second home and the only nursing home Mum would be happy to spend longer periods of time in, if and when required.

My husband has been a resident in Cedar Mews for almost a year, after several stays for respite care. Last week one of his daughters came from her home in Bulgaria to visit him. It coincided with my five-year-old granddaughter staying over for half term. We had a lovely lunch together in the ground
floor dining room, a real (extended) family occasion that we all enjoyed. One of the aspects of the special care provided by Cedar Mews' staff that I particularly value is their understanding of how important it is to support not only the resident but also the family. We certainly need looking after too when times are not as good as on this happy occasion.

My mum has been at Cedar Mews for about 8 months now and the home and facilities are beyond compare. It is unlike any other care home I have ever visited before, I have been in many in my previous career as a police officer. I visited my mum who has dementia this week and together with other residents
she was taken outside by staff members and all were fully engaged by the staff members and myself also included in conversation. The staff took a real genuine interest in what the residents had to say, treated with the utmost dignity. It leaves me feeling mum could not be in a better place or want for any better care. Well done to all staff at Cedar Mews.

Cedar Mews facilities are the highest quality we have experienced in a care home in the East Midlands. However for us, more importantly, is the quality of the team caring for our mum. The team members we met at Cedar Mews are wonderful, the passion for and professional approach to caring for all residents
is obvious at all times. There are always planned and diverse activities on offer, excellent meal options, and great clinical and administrative oversight. It is also the little touches that Cedar Mews provide that give us the comfort and understanding that mum is in the right hands.

My husband had to go into care Sept 2017 when I became unwell and his various conditions made it impossible to live at home. He died in his sleep in November 2018. During his time at Cedar Mews he experienced constant excellent care, attention and kindness even though at times his behaviour could be
difficult. The staff also supported myself and the rest of the family in the same caring way.

It's been over 12 months since I made the hard decision to move my loved one into a care home. From the start, Cedar Mews made it easier to bear. From initial discussion to settling in and the ongoing daily ups and downs of care home life, as a family member, I have felt part of their hardworking team.
Help with hospital appointments, open and honest discussions over ever-changing care needs have always been there. The love that is shown in the home by all of the team and the sense of humour the staff maintain despite juggling so many different individual care needs is a credit to all of them. I know when I'm not there that he is surrounded by people who care for him and who know what makes him happy and who do the best they can to meet his needs. Visiting is a pleasure as I always get a warm welcome from both the staff, my loved one and the other amazing residents. Privacy and dignity is respected and I feel I made the right decision for Cedar Mews to be the care home of choice.

My grandfather enjoyed his time here until his recent passing, he took great delight in introducing us regularly to staff and friends. The level of interaction, respect and dignity displayed by Cedar Mews is inspiring and touching.

I am a neighbour of a lady in the care home and she was struggling on her own. After being in this care home her quality of life has improved and she is so much happier.
