I couldn't have asked for a better start to my step dads time at Fernhill House. The staff have been absolutely brilliant in welcoming him and making him feel at home. They also make us (our family) feel at home and welcome, they are such lovely people. In fact, this is the biggest thing that stands out to me and my family, the team at Fernhill House go above and beyond in making us feel like we belong there too which is such a lovely feeling and it allows us to spend as much quality time with my step dad as we can. My step dad has been so happy in his first couple of weeks there. He really enjoys the time that the staff spend with him, they are always checking in with him and seeing if he is OK or needs anything, sometimes just stopping for a quick check in and chat which he really appreciates. For the times he likes to be quiet, he has the flexibility to go off into several fantastic different spaces (Bistro, Cinema, Lounges) or to his lovely room. It's a wonderful home, Thank you!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share these truly lovely comments. They mean the world to us. Our team genuinely cares about every resident, and we always try to go above and beyond to make each day special. Knowing that our efforts are appreciated gives us so much joy.
It's wonderful...
My husband moved into Fernhill House last week. We had been dreading him having to leave our home on a permanent basis (as I had reached a point where I was struggling both emotionally and physically to care for him at home). We needn't have worried. On the day of the move The Care Manager came to pick my husband up from home and we were greeted with the warmest of welcomes by all of the staff. Right from the start it has felt like "Home from Home". The nursing and care staff have taken time out to get to know my husband's likes and dislikes and have treated him with the utmost dignity and kindness. Family is the most important thing to my husband and it was lovely at the weekend when our family came to have afternoon tea with us and then we spent a couple of hours in one of the beautiful lounges with the grandchildren playing board games. It really is a "Home from Home".
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a beautiful review. Your kind words truly mean the world to us. At Fernhill House, ensuring that our residents feel happy, safe, and genuinely cared for is at the very heart of everything we do. Every day, our team strives to create an environment...
When you enter Fernhill House you are reassured by caring staff and happy residents. Regular, varied and fun activities are on offer daily: staff have tried and tested events but constantly look for new ways to keep residents involved. Mum has particularly enjoyed the live music on offer. Moreover the level of care and genuine interaction with the residents is lovely to watch. Visiting regularly I am always moved by the dedication and kindness by all staff, whether carers, housekeepers, chefs, maintenance or admin. : all are friendly and caring. They all help mum with respect, gentleness and laughter. There is plenty of space for residents to participate in activities or, if they choose, to sit quietly. Mum's wing was recently renovated and it's just beautiful. She loves sitting by the 'fire' in the refurbished lounge. Mum settled in really quickly and whenever I call in I find her content and enjoying herself - it's truly a delightful home.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this wonderful review. It truly means a lot to us. it is incredibly important that our residents feel fully engaged, cared for, and happy in their surroundings, so that their relatives can have complete peace of mind.
We are absolutely delighted to...
Fernhill House encompasses all that is good about care for the older generation; we are so very glad that we chose this beautiful place for our relative. The love and devotion shown to them by every single member of the team at Fernhill gives us absolute peace of mind which is crucial. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're greeted and welcomed like old friends, always offered the most beautifully-presented refreshments and generally treated like you are arriving into the bosom of a family home. There are always activities on offer for the residents to take part in, but the vibe always remains relaxed and serene for those who prefer a gentler pace. All of the residents receive a huge amount of one-to-one time from the entire team, not just the wonderful carers.....the kitchen team, for example, take time to learn what will best tempt residents' tastebuds in order to surprise and delight them. Medical care is exceptional yet discreet, allowing absolute dignity.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review. We are thrilled that you describe the care as being exceptional. Your kind words will be shared with the whole team.
The kindness shown by the staff towards Mum and the wish to put residents at the heart of their decision-making has been key in the ease in which Mum has moved from home care to full-time residency. Fernhill House has been so positive.
The staff have cared for Mum with real kindness, from my point of view, the customer relations manager/team really went above and beyond to accommodate us, to which we are very grateful.
The facilities reflect that of a luxurious hotel. We very much appreciate how they were so welcoming to family and friends visiting.
All her medical needs are expertly handled, keeping the family updated with kind and thoughtful words. For anyone wanting a family member to be cared for and treated with kindness and dignity, I can't express how lovely Fernhill is and would be a lovely place to go to.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review! I look forward to sharing it with the team.
I cannot praise Fernhill House highly enough. They have gone the extra mile to ensure my mother's first month with them has been amazing. All the staff have been very caring and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for them. I have visited Mum every 2/3 days at varying times and can fault nothing. Am delighted that such a traumatic time has been so marvellous for us all.
Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. I look forward to sharing it with the team.
Sadly, my husband only spent 8 days in this wonderful home. Aged 90, he had previously spent nearly 3 months of trauma, in and out of hospital with a period of home care in between. He was in a bad way, with multiple conditions, but the care he was given here was exemplary. His constant, worried frown disappeared, as he relaxed knowing he was safe and being well cared for. He passed away peacefully, with dignity. Not only that, but the care and attention given to me and the rest of the family was way beyond the call of duty. We were only sorry that he didn't recover enough to enjoy the facilities and activities on offer. An excellent experience, at a difficult time!
Thank you for taking the time to write such a heartfelt review. It was an honour to welcome you and your family into Fernhill, even if only for a short time. I look forward to sharing your kind words with the team.
My father attended for a 2-week respite, 3 days before he was due to go back home he said he wanted to stay. The home is a lovely place, it's clean and cosy. The staff and residents are always smiling. The home is surrounded by love, you can feel and see the staff really care for the residents it's not just a job to them. The residents are fully supported by their individual needs. I can't fault the place. My father is so happy there.
We are delighted that your father is so happy here! Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a lovely review. I look forward to sharing this with the team.
My mother has settled in really well thanks to the support, warmth & care that she receives. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff & relatives are regularly updated on my mother's care.
The home is immaculately clean & facilities offered are outstanding.
Thank you for taking the time to leave this lovely review. I will pass your kind words on to the team.
Going to Fernhill House is like being wrapped in a cosy blanket. From the moment you are greeted at the door you feel completely loved and cosseted. The total family care made it so special. Thank you to everyone!
Thank you so much for your really kind words. We will share this with our team.
Fernhill House is like a home from home, it's very clean, cosy and full of laughter and fun.
My friend have been very well looked after and I have felt very happy that she is always safe here and always happy.
Definitely the best care home in Worcestershire.
Thank you so much for this lovely review, Rachel. We are thrilled that you enjoy the entertainment and find Fernhill a home from home! Thank you for your kind words, we really do appreciate it.
This was such a great relief, as the care she received was outstanding and she was surrounded by love until she died peacefully.
Her life at Fernhill for the past six months has been full of fun, which outweighed the loss of independent living. Her other very close friend and I were cared for too by the wonderful staff. They are very special people!
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. Your kind words have been shared with the team. We are so sorry about the loss of your friend and we are thinking of you during this difficult time.
The customer relations manager really went above and beyond to accommodate us, to which we are very grateful.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review. We hope your Nan has settled back into her own home. We are so thrilled the team could support your Nan and your family with a speedy admission into Fernhill House.
The positive and purposeful cohesive environment made the residents we supported very happy. Although suffering from Alzheimer’s and vascular dementia and failing sight, she became the ‘life and soul of the party’ entering into all activities with gusto. Her general well-being improved and the progress of dementia slowed. Unfortunately, a sudden illness resulted in accessing the emergency services of the hospital. Effective liaison between the hospital and home resulted in perfect end-of-life care being provided in the nursing wing of the home. There was huge empathy and compassion and the resident had a dignified and perfect death. The quality of care throughout the time our friend entered the home to the time of her death has been exceptional.
Thank you so much for your kind words. We were honoured to care for your friend through her End of Life stage. This will be shared with the team.
When my mother-in-law came to Fernhill House Care Home for respite care to bridge the gap between hospital discharge and returning to her own home, the team at Fernhill made the whole process smooth and simple. They factored in every little detail, from making sure her favourite puddings were on the menu to catering for us to visit one afternoon for a ploughman’s lunch. The care staff were incredible and went above and beyond to the point of giving my daughter a tub of ice cream the night my mother-in-law was discharged to Fernhill late from hospital. The facilities reflect that of a luxurious hotel. It gave us complete peace of mind knowing that for a brief period, our vulnerable relative was safe and comfortable whilst we made alternative arrangements for her move back home. She was treated with the utmost respect and dignity at all times, not to mention how patient they were with her when she was struggling to adjust to her situation. For that, we, as a family, are extremely grateful.
Amy, thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review, your kind words have been shared with the team. It was a pleasure to have your mother-in-law with us and we hope she has settled back at home.
My mother recently went to Fernhill House for 2 weeks respite, she was a little nervous as she has never done this before. However, all the staff and residents were so welcoming she settled in straight away. She thrived on the outstanding care received, the excellent food and range of activities available to her. She is already looking forward to the opportunity of staying at Fernhill House again.
Thank you so much for this lovely review Alison! We are so pleased that your Mother enjoyed her stay and we look forward to welcoming her back soon. She is always welcome to join us for lunch or a cup of tea.
I just wanted to drop a review to say a huge thank you to Fernhill House Care Home for looking after my mum before she passed. They helped prolong my mum's life and gave my children the opportunity to know her better and I will be eternally grateful for them for that. All the staff are incredible but I have to single out two members of staff, in particular, for being there for Mum with all her needs and keeping me and my family updated with kind and thoughtful words. For anyone wanting a family member to be cared for and treated with kindness and dignity, I can't express how lovely Fernhill is and would be a lovely place to go to.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review. Your kind words have been shared with the team. Please keep in touch and your father is more than welcome to join us for lunch anytime.
Many, many thanks to the excellent team at Fernhill for their outstanding, professional care combined with treating my mother with dignity and respect. It was very good to know that she was so well looked after. She is very fond of Fernhill. We very much appreciate how they were so welcoming to family and friends visiting.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review. We are so thrilled that your mother enjoyed her stay. She is welcome to pop in for a cup of tea anytime!
I think that living here must be like living in Buckingham Palace.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this lovely review. We are thrilled that you enjoy living here and you think Fernhill House is like Buckingham Palace!
My mother has been under the care of Fernhill for a complete year now... through many management changes and under the time of the pandemic. We switched her status from "respite" over the Christmas period of 2021 to full-time resident. Fernhill's ability to create a "home" of dignity and professional elder care with cheerfulness and positivity has been a true gift to our family. We all live very far away from the home, so we depend on everything that Fernhill House provides... whether that be immediate care for Mother or helping us understand and accept the inevitable sad stage of decline in the journey of dementia.
Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate your feedback and I will cascade it to the team.

Meet the Team (2)

Hello, my name is Drew, and I am the General Manager here at Fernhill House.
I have over 16 years of experience managing residential and nursing homes, and I am truly delighted to welcome you to our home. Fernhill House is set in beautiful surroundings with extensive grounds for everyone to enjoy, but what really makes it special is the life and warmth that our residents bring to it every day.
Life at Fernhill is all about comfort, connection, and joy. Imagine starting your day with a cup of tea in the Bistro, enjoying a stroll through our gardens, or taking part in a creative activity with friends. Perhaps later you’ll visit our screening room for a classic film or a favourite show, or join one of our lifestyle programmes or trips out in the minibus. Every detail, from 24-hour care to all meals and beverages, hair, beauty and chiropody, private physiotherapy, and daily laundry service, is designed to make life as enjoyable and worry-free as possible for our residents—and their families.
Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, and we see them as part of our extended family. I’m passionate about being hands-on and working alongside our amazing team because I know that when our staff feel happy, valued, and motivated, it creates a home full of warmth, laughter, and care.
At Fernhill, we want every resident to live a meaningful and independent life, surrounded by people who care deeply about their well-being. I hope that when you walk through our doors, you immediately feel the kindness, energy, and dedication that make Fernhill House truly feel like home.
I very much look forward to welcoming you soon, showing you around, and sharing the heart of life here at Fernhill House

Hi, I’m Becky, and I’m the Deputy Manager here at Fernhill House.
I’ve had the privilege of being part of the Fernhill family for the past eight years, starting as a care assistant and growing into my current role. Over that time, I’ve learned that every resident has a story to tell, and getting to know them—their past, their passions, and the little things that make them smile—is the most rewarding part of my work.
Throughout the day, I’m alongside our amazing team, making sure every resident’s individual needs and preferences are met, whether it’s offering a little extra support, celebrating a small achievement, or simply being there to listen. These personal connections are what make Fernhill House feel like a true home, not just a care facility.
By the afternoon, our residents might be enjoying a trip out in the minibus, taking part in a lifestyle programme, or catching up with friends over tea. Even the smallest moments—sharing stories, a hand to hold, or a smile in passing—are what make the day meaningful.
Being part of this team, helping residents live with independence, dignity, and happiness, is an honour. Every day is full of connection, care, and warmth, and seeing residents thrive is what inspires me to give my very best. Fernhill House is more than a home—it’s a place where stories are shared, memories are made, and people truly feel valued.
