Lavender Oaks Care Home

My mother-in-law spent a week at Lavender Oaks in April as we went on a family holiday. Her room was beautiful, all of the staff were kind and pleasant. My mother-in-law has very disturbing conversation topics due to her dementia, the staff took this in their stride and were very tolerant. My mother-in-law had a birthday while there and they made this special for her.

Staff are understanding, proactive, very friendly and accommodating. Their commitment to making the residents feel 'at home' starts from the moment of entry. The views from the rooms at the first-floor level are comfortable and pacifying to the mind and allow a superabundance of daydreaming. Absolutely no complaints about heating, there's plenty of it! A place to recommend to trusting friends.

My mother was cared for at Lavender Oaks for 16 months before her death in August 2023. I lived fairly local and used to visit every couple of days and the way I was treated made me part of the team. She was always smiling as her care couldn't be beaten by all of the staff, I have moved further away now but I still pop in and visit the staff in a way of thanks.

This was my mother's second respite stay. She really enjoys her time at Lavender Oaks and is always well looked after. All the staff are kind and caring.

Definitely best in the area.

Lavender Oaks is a very special place. They take amazing care of my mum who is very happy here. The staff go above and beyond. There always seems to be something going on from pop-up shops to hand massages and nail care. All the residents seem so happy. I can't thank them enough.

I brought my mum in for respite care for 8 weeks. The staff were lovely and very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Her room was like a hotel, felt very reassured when I left her.

We found this to be a very good care home - modern, clean, well-equipped. The staff were always warm and friendly but also very efficient and they know everyone and their visitors by name. The physiotherapists were superb and got Mum mobile again after her spell in hospital. Other residents got to know Mum too and encouraged her to join in with them. We would have been happy for her to stay for longer but she was desperate to return to her own home which she is now managing with a live-in carer.

There is a lovely caring, supportive and respectful culture at Lavender Oaks which is led by the managers and training team. Mum was very happy at Lavender Oaks.

I recently spent four weeks at Lavender Oaks, Mariposa Section, after coming out of hospital. I can’t speak highly enough of the wonderful time I had there, I was made to feel so welcome from the day I arrived. All the staff made my stay a very memorable occasion, I didn’t want to go home. The care I received and the delicious food was something I will remember for a long time. If the time comes that I can’t look after myself, I would have no hesitation in returning to Lavender Oaks to live. Thank you to all concerned.

The first thing all the staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, never too busy to help. Felt very comfortable and safe, companionship was very good, and tea and coffee very good. I was here for respite and if I could afford it if I would stay permanently.

Most of the staff we had on one team were fabulous. Two of the nurses we had were brilliant. The food was great. The activities were excellent.

I remain delighted by the quality of life my 93-year-old mother enjoys at the Lavender Oaks Care Home. Covid (and now flu) remains a serious challenge, but I respect the professionalism of the entire staff team faced with it - and their positivity throughout. There are going to be step-changes, but, if anything, Mum is getting younger - not older - residing at Lavender Oaks!

Dad continues to be cheerful, happy and secure at Lavender Oaks. My ratings for Lavender Oaks reflect this and hopefully continue from the day of his arrival two years ago to maintain his cheerful disposition.

My mother is very happy here. I'm confident that she is receiving excellent care and feel that the decision for my mother to reside at Lavender Oaks was one of our best. Thank you.

The staff have been good at listening and sorting out all my aunt's needs. They have been amazing at making her room feel like home. We are happy to have my aunt live there and she is thriving. The home is local, well kept and welcoming.
