My dear mother had spent 11 months at Lavender Oaks and sadly passed away in May 2019. During this time, my mum was so well cared for, loved even, by the most wonderful staff, all of whom went beyond the realms of their actual duties. She was happy, which in turn made us happy because we had peace of mind knowing she was safe and well cared for. During her final week of life, the tender loving support from all the staff concerned, not only for our dearest mum but for us her family, made her final hours truly peaceful. The warm welcome we received each and every visit, the superb facilities which are there for all to enjoy, were absolutely superb. Very professionally run by extremely hard working loyal staff.

I am the friend of a resident at Lavender Oaks. She has been there since October 2018. Her whole life has changed since being here - the care is excellent. She does a lot of activities and goes out on the bus to museums, garden centres and pub lunches. Her family who lives in America have peace of mind that she is safe. So well done to all the staff from the excellent management and carers. The food is excellent and hosts in the dining room do a great job. Well done to all the chefs. They have a great team spirit and the family and I are so pleased she is here.

My father-in-law has been a resident for 1 year. The care he has received has been exceptional and the high standards of this home have been maintained from day one. To see him happy and at ease in his surroundings is such a huge relief and the wonderful staff here are a credit. Fantastic.

More mind-stimulating activities would be preferable than being glued to the box.

The resident is the centre of attention.

Lavender Oaks provided a tremendous level of care for my Mum for the last few months and gave her such a truly happy home. After settling in Mum was clearly very content, comfortable and relaxed.

We were impressed with the considerate, sensitive but often upbeat manner in which the staff interacted with the dementia residents and found an in-house talk on the subject eye-opening. We always looked forward to our visits safe in the knowledge we would find Mum well looked after and more often than not happily in the company of other people. Our visits always began with a cheery welcome from the lovely reception staff and always ended with a smile on our faces, again safe in the knowledge Mum was in safe hands.

The wonderful staff made everything so easy for us and couldn’t have been more helpful.

Lavender Oaks has provided over the last seven months the most amazing care for my mother in law. There is a phenomenal bond between all the carers, catering staff, housekeepers, entertainment team, maintenance, transport, medical and of course, the managers, who have all excelled in making her life the best it can be. All the personnel enjoy interacting with the residents and take time to listen and ensure their needs are fully met, whilst also enjoying a chat with them. The premises and gardens are the best I have ever seen and would not be out of place for a top class hotel! Well done Lavender Oaks you have raised the bar to a standard that all care homes should try to strive for. I have no hesitation in fully recommending to prospective clients for the service of this care Home.

The amenities are fabulous, including a cinema, hairdressing salon, bistro/bar, a private dining room for resident’s family and friends to use for special occasions, a dedicated entertainment team with a specially fitted out area and a minibus. Above all this, however, is the wonderful, genuine, compassionate care that the AMAZING STAFF give to all their residents. Also with a very approachable management team, who listen, and are proactive. I would highly recommend Lavender Oaks and have done!

The surroundings are high class. My mother said she felt like she was in a 5 star hotel. However, the care and all the staff are also 5 star. Each person went above beyond to ensure she felt welcome and at home, all her care and well-being needs were et. Above all, she felt safe and well looked after which was hugely reassuring and the point of her respite stay.

Our parents went into Lavender Oaks for emergency respite. Mum needed the care most. The home worked quickly to accept them. There are some good aspects. The rooms, food and cleanliness were excellent. Some staff are kind. If you are looking for a respite stay, there are things that we might suggest you clarify first to ensure it is what you want. If ‘care’ is new to you, visit with someone who has experience. Check on how the systems and communication will work for you and the resident, so you know what the provision will 'look like'. Agree your role, and the home’s role, regarding medical issues and medication. Check thoroughly the contractual details and charging policies. We found leadership, communication and monitoring to be very inconsistent, at times poor. Lavender Oaks did not have the capacity to meet Mum's changing needs, or support Dad effectively at a difficult time: as a result, their health declined. They are now improving and happy in their new permanent care home.

Aside from care, the decor, facilities and food are similarly first class. We have no hesitation in recommending Lavender Oaks.

If anyone is looking to move a loved one into Lavender Oaks I would not recommend it as they are not palliative care trained and cannot provide this.

In his new environment, Dad has flourished. He is treated with dignity and respect. Staff at all levels engage with him and understand him and his needs. The change we have seen in him since he moved to this home has absolutely vindicated our decision to change care homes. Thank you, everyone.

Fantastic care home with excellent facilities and beautifully built/decorated. First class staff, extremely supportive to residents and family. They helped my mum settle very quickly. Mum's health has rapidly improved. She has gained some independence. Would highly recommend.
