Lavender Oaks Care Home

My 94 year old mother has settled in extremely well (moved in only 2 months ago) at Lavender Oaks Care Home, mum has made friends and started to join in activities that are on offer. All the staff are polite, attentive and courteous. Lavender Oaks is clean and well presented with a good atmosphere surrounded by attractive gardens.

My uncle has recently moved into nursing care at the home. I am very impressed by the facilities that the home provides, the general standard of care, and the quality of the staff. His room is very spacious and he appears to be eating well despite being rather anti food generally. He was not eating well in his own home in recent months before moving into first the hospital and now the care home.

Lavender Oaks has been an absolute godsend in caring for our mother, especially in these COVID times. We are so relieved to know that she is happy and well cared for. The staff are all so caring and considerate and treat Mum with dignity and respect. I have no hesitation in recommending Lavender Oaks as an excellent care home.

From the first day, my sister-in-law entered Lavender Oaks the care has been excellent. She is really content.

We always enjoy our visits to Lavender Oaks and feel welcome. My brother-in-law is well cared for by the staff, who are concerned for his well-being. The bedrooms and living areas are bright and the gardens are beautiful. Birthdays and special occasions can be celebrated in the family private dining-room once Covid restrictions are lifted. Residents enjoy outings to local parks and countryside in the minibus.

Quite honestly, I do not think anyone could reasonably expect a higher standard of care or respect for residents and patients than I witnessed over the three and half months my late mother spent there receiving end-of-life nursing. In addition to the care and attention, the home is very well-appointed, clean, smart and comfortable, which was also important to us. Sadly owing to Covid-19 even when my mother was stronger at the start of her stay there, she wasn't able to take advantage of many of the home's lovely facilities and services but the staff made every effort to help her socialise and meet others, which was much appreciated. As my mother's illness progressed, as expected, I got to know her care team well and I was very touched time and again by their responsiveness, level of care and kindness shown to me and my family. I would have no hesitation to recommend Lavender Oaks Care Home to any caring families wanting the very best welfare and nursing possible for their loved ones.

Mum has been a resident in Lavender Oaks for the past year, she has settled in very well and gets on great with all staff. Mum seems very happy and well looked after and I am made to feel very welcome when I visit, there is a great team in place from management, carers and right through to kitchen housekeeping.

Mum is so well looked after; it gives us peace of mind that she is kept safe and well. The team at Lavender Oaks work so hard and are all very caring and lovely.

The care home staff have cared for my sister-in-law, and previously my mother-in-law (deceased), for over 3 years and have looked after them with great care and dignity.

Although not a direct relative of the resident at Lavendar Oaks (the resident is my wife's sister) I have always been very impressed with both the friendliness and kindness of all of the staff. My wife's sister has been at Lavendar Oaks for over 3 years and in my view, it is the most appropriate home for her needs. In general, the staff seem to be very focussed on her care and wellbeing.

My mum is very happy living at Lavender Oaks. She tells me she finds the staff very helpful and is well looked after. All the staff are lovely in the home and will always tell me how my mum is doing. It feels like one big family.

That care was also extended to myself and my family. My aunt's life sadly ended in the middle of the pandemic. However, I was grateful to be able to spend her final hours with her and I never forget the care and compassion she received to ensure she had a very peaceful end. A wonderful group of people.

I was well looked after in the room and helped in the bathroom when I wanted it. They took me out for splendid walks nearly every day which I needed special carers help given. When I wanted to go back home they were so kind and so helpful and took me right home themselves in your van. I am sorry to say goodbye to all of them and thank them for all the care that I had rather refused!

It has been a particularly difficult time for us due to ongoing health problems with my husband but the fact that we did not have to worry about the care my sister-in-law was getting was a great relief. We cannot stress how impressed we have been with how the staff have coped. We have been able to visit fairly regularly, without worrying about safety as all the necessary precautions were taken in a very pleasant and efficient manner. She is very content there and although we would have left her in her own home if it has been possible we are so pleased with our choice of care.

The home provides regular communications and during COVID this regularity increased which was reassuring. I also thank the home for the approach they took to protect all residents from infection during this time. I cannot thank the staff enough for all that they do.

Our father moved into Lavender Oaks in February 2020. This was a big adjustment for him having lived on his own for 10 years. The staff were so warm, friendly and efficient. They understood the adjustment Dad was having to make and were incredibly supportive. All the staff treat him with dignity and nothing is too much trouble. Dad began to settle and join in some of the activities. Then the COVID virus prevented us from visiting and many activities had to stop. I have such peace of mind knowing he is safe, surrounded by caring staff to look after him and a good nursing team are on hand if needed. I am so grateful to them and even more so at this time of being unable to visit.

By definition this quality comes at a "top end" cost.

My very good friend has been a resident in Lavender Oaks for just over a year and I visit her frequently. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and much in evidence. The home has a very pleasant atmosphere and is light and airy. It is in lovely surroundings with a beautiful garden.

It is a pleasure to visit my friend at Lavender Oaks Care Home. The staff always offer a warm friendly greeting. My friend is thriving in this inclusive and non-judgemental environment. The staff are respectful and encouraging, and my friend responds well to them all. She is enabled to maintain pride in her appearance, and her personal care needs are met. She enjoys frequent visits to the hairdressers, and her nails are manicured and painted regularly. On a social level, my friend is encouraged to participate in many activities. She loves exercising and singing with the activities team, who do an excellent job and are so understanding of the residents and their needs, desires and abilities. The activities team are marvellous ambassadors for Lavender Oaks Care Home, as indeed are all the wonderful caring staff. Thank you to the whole team at Lavender Oaks Care Home who look after my friend so well.
