Transferred directly from a hospital stay, for 3 weeks respite care. Very comfortable and treated very well, like a member of a large family. Short stay welcomed, accommodation permitting, when family commitments require husband to be away for several nights.

My partner came to Emerson Park, very scared, angry, not sociable, since his arrival he has settled amazingly. He is comfortable, extremely well looked after, and he is as happy as he possibly can be. I myself, feel the pressure has left me, knowing he is in a nursing home that genuinely cares about
the residents. So glad he is here!

Overall, we are very pleased as originally, I was dreading mum moving to a care home but this is more like a hotel.
Staff very friendly and it's a nice relaxed atmosphere.
I have marked the food as 'satisfactory' as, whilst the standard is okay - the combinations are a bit strange at times.
Reply from Paul Hart, General Manager at Emerson Grange Care HomeThank you for your feedback. We recently appointed a head chef from a Michelin Star background and the focus is very much on dining at Emerson Park being a memorable experience in terms of variety, versatility and quality. We are in the process of setting up a dining committee, so we capture comments and choices to ensure that our menus reflect preferences and the views of our residents. Our Support Services Manager has spoken to you and I was encouraged that you commented on improvement since posting the review.

Most of the time it is good except when being told what to wear - I know what I want to wear.
The food is sometimes misdescribed.
Reply from Paul Hart, General Manager at Emerson Grange Care HomeThank-you for your feedback. We respect the dignity and personal choice of our residents and all our team members value independence and support our residents to express their preferences. Our Care Services Manager has spoken to you and you reassured her that it was an isolated occurrence shortly after coming to Emerson Park where a member of the team laid out an outfit with the best intentions of being helpful.

My father moved into Emerson Grange in November 2018 and sadly passed away towards the end of January 2019. I cannot speak highly enough of the home, the staff, the care my father received, or the quality of his treatment. It only recently opened in 2018 and I have nothing but praise for the home. This
care home should go to the top of anyone's list of possible venues to consider. Extremely impressed and happy to write this review.

Since my father has been in Emerson Grange the care he has received is first class. The staff have made us feel like family and nothing is too much trouble for them. The fees are high but so is the standard of accommodation, food and staff performance. A few more staff would be better but apparently,
they are coming on board soon.

The home is very well looked after with frequent cleaning and changes of towel and bedding. The care staff and all front of house staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent although choice is sometimes limited. Care is generally good but sometimes there are delays which can cause distress.

I am delighted to confirm that the teams at Emerson Grange work exceedingly well in all areas. I have personal knowledge of two other dementia care homes and have to say that Emerson Grange is so much superior in all areas. It is very good value and some would say is similar to staying at a five-star
hotel. The food is excellent, and friends and relatives are welcome to join residents at lunch and at any other time.

I have seen that not only my elderly cousin but also other residents much enjoy the day to day internal activities as well as the regular external trips to garden centres and other places of interest. It is also pleasing to see that the home keeps in touch with local schools and other organisations.

Much more important are the staff who all give that extra bit to encourage and enable the residents to feel at home and enjoy their new environment. The care and attention is second to none.

My Mother In Law moved into Emerson Grange at the end of January. My husband and I can not thank all the staff enough in making her feel welcome. We have already noticed a difference in her mobility allowing her to join in with activities which are of plenty. The residents there have made her transition
to her new home very easy as they have included her in everything even from day one. Her quality of life was diminishing at her other home, but being at Emerson this has changed considerably.
There is never a dull moment, always something to do, but plenty of areas if you want a little quiet time. The facilities are fantastic from a salon, cinema room and gym to a lovely little bar/cafe where residents and visitors are able to get a drink and snacks. The decor throughout Emerson is of a very high quality and everything has been very well designed. The 3-course menu choice is always well received by the residents and family members are welcome too.

Our cousin has been a resident at Emerson Grange for the past four months or so and in this time she has thoroughly enjoyed herself and settled in very well.
The staff have made her and our family welcome. They are very chatty and friendly, something that is important.
The food served at Emerson
is outstanding. They really treat the residents like royalty.
The interior of Emerson is also outstanding. They really have paid attention to detail to ensure resident’s private space is relaxing and the shared areas are very welcoming.
The activities that Emerson provide are brilliant and there is always a trip out arranged for the local area or activities within the home. One of our cousin's favourites was the chocolate making session! A wonderful care home.
It undoubtedly has a friendly atmosphere and it is clear that all of the residents are well cared for.

Both the care and support staff have been great at settling dad into the house. His dementia means he keeps forgetting he lost his wife last year but all the care and attention he's getting from all the staff help him cope with this loss.
We're very happy that he is in a safe and caring environment.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.862) out of 10 for Emerson Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 76 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 76 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.862 for Emerson Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (785 Excellents x 5) + (106 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 900 Ratings = 4.862
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Emerson Grange Care Home is based on 76 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 85 registered maximum number of service users is 17, which has been reached with 76 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Head of Care & Registered Manager Joined: 2024

What I Do:

In May 2022, I made the significant decision to join Cinnamon as the Care Service Manager, a choice that has since proven to be the most rewarding in my career. Within the company, I was fortunate to be promoted to Head of Care/Registered Manager.

As Head of Care/Registered Manager, I am responsible for overseeing the complete care process for our residents, starting from the preadmission phase. My primary goal is to ensure that each resident’s care journey begins with a strong foundation, allowing us to deliver personalized, compassionate, and high-quality care.

My role at Emerson Grange presents an exciting and inspiring challenge. I am committed to bringing my expertise, experience, and dedication to enhancing the well-being of our residents while upholding the highest standards of care. My focus is on ensuring that each resident enjoys a dignified and fulfilling quality of life. I am enthusiastic about contributing to the continued success of Emerson Grange as a leader in UK care services.

My Experience:

My healthcare career began in 2007 when I started working as a healthcare assistant within the National Health Service (NHS). This role provided me with invaluable hands-on experience and laid the foundation for my future in healthcare.

With a commitment to furthering my education and expertise, I completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Greenwich University, gaining essential knowledge and skills for delivering high-quality patient care. To expand my understanding of public health, I also earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Public Health from the University of Sunderland. This advanced qualification has enriched my perspective on healthcare management and service delivery.

Throughout my time with Cinnamon, I have gained extensive experience as a Care Service Manager, where I have embraced the company’s vision and values. This continuity has enabled me to transition smoothly into my current role as Head of Care/Registered Manager, where I am committed to fostering high standards of care for all residents.

About Me:

I am fortunate to be married and a proud parent of three wonderful children who continually inspire and motivate me in both my personal and professional life. Beyond my work and family, I enjoy pursuing creative hobbies such as design, where I take pleasure in the process of bringing ideas to life. I also have a passion for party planning, finding joy in organizing memorable events that bring happiness to others.

Having had the pleasure of seeing this development from bricks and mortar to what it is today, and having often been the first point of contact at Emerson over the years, I am able to showcase our development and give an insight into the fantastic lifestyle we offer.

I am responsible for all aspects of the non-care operations in the development and am here to facilitate our lifestyle offering to our residents, apartment owners and their families and friends.

My experience:
I joined Cinnamon with over a decade of experience in both corporate and independent residential estate agencies, managing various departments over the years, from frontline Sales & Lettings to Property Management.

About me:
I am a proud husband and a father to two beautiful daughters, and I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family both at home and abroad, sharing our love of travel. I am an avid sports fan and in my spare time can often be found on the cricket field, on the golf course or watching American Football.

Job Title: Resident Service Advisor Joined: 2021

What I do:
As a Resident Services Advisor, I support families who are considering a change in their current living situation, sometimes as a choice and sometimes due to necessity. My role is both rewarding and fulfilling and brings me great satisfaction as no two days are ever the same, just as no two people are ever the same.

My aim is to support families to make the decision that is right for them and their loved ones. I appreciate that moving, whether downsizing to one of our apartments or into our care home, is a highly emotional experience, and I support and guide our residents and their families through the process, both offering advice and ensuring a smooth and timely move.

My experience:
I have been working in the care industry for over 20 years. My initial role as an activity coordinator provided me with the wonderful opportunity to get to know residents and learn about them as individuals. I have worked both regionally and at the home level in a variety of roles. As a member of the Emerson Park team, I endeavour to continue with my commitment to supporting residents, their families and my colleagues in ensuring that our home is a great place to live and work.

About me
I am lucky to have a large family around me, and when I am spending time away from work, I love to enjoy the company of those I love. I enjoy gardening, walking, and reading. I am a secret twitcher and can get overly excited when I see a rare bird.
