Mum came to Tonbridge House in February 2022 after suffering many falls in her home. My sister and I decided it was unsafe for her to remain there. We were sad to make this decision but were so pleased to have a professional and welcoming. The staff are very kind and accommodating to her needs. The
recent Jubilee party was a joyful occasion.

We had to move my Dad into Tonbridge House due to his worsening Alzheimer’s and it was such a hard decision to make- but the staff at Tonbridge House were so helpful and guided us through the process to make the transition as smooth as possible. Dad has settled and they also make my Mum feel very welcome,
when she visits him. I like that they take an interest in the resident as well as their family, which benefits and helps everyone. All the staff are always willing and helpful when needed and are also on hand with answers to questions; we really have found Tonbridge House to be exceptional from the cleaners, maintenance, and laundry through to the care staff, nurses and management/admin team - everyone has an open door approach and always seems genuine, happy to help and listen to any issue that arises. I would recommend this home to others as I feel my Dad is safe and well cared for, providing me and My Mum with reassurance that we made the right decision.

My wife entered this care home direct from hospital where her care had been very poor. All staff at Tonbridge House Care Home went out of their way to welcome my wife and have continued to do so ever since. The admin staff and the carers and nursing staff make great effort to ensure that she is comfortable
and are very kind and considerate and put extra effort in every time they see the need to do so. They are also very understanding of the special needs of both the resident and their families. It has also been difficult for myself and the rest of our family but the staff continually check on our well being and make sure that we are able to continue our lives without having to worry about the care and comfort of Mum/wife. Whilst it is a scenario we did not expect, it is a great relief to know that care both for her medical requirements, and her personal comfort and understanding of what is happening to her is well catered for. I would have no problem in recommending Tonbridge House Care Home.

I have been involved with this care home for about 3 and a half years since my wife became a resident. The home has been what my wife needed as she had a stroke in May 2017. She is so well looked after and even though it is difficult for her the staff make her as happy as she can be. One of the best
things is that a lot of the staff have been there since she first joined so they know my wife really well. Her room is well looked after and there is always a very good atmosphere wherever you go.

Dad entered the home during covid. All the staff fully and compassionately supported the whole family, during this time. Dad is extremely well cared for, both emotionally and physically. All the staff are friendly, kind and always happy to talk to Dad and the family at any time. Knowing Dad is well
cared for gives us all peace of mind and enables us to enjoy our precious time with him. The receptionist is amazing. She always gauges my mood, is very supportive and always manages to make me smile.

Mum went into Tonbridge House for three weeks of respite care. During her whole stay, she was as comfortable and safe as anyone could make her. The care and friendliness of the staff were second to none. Full marks and many thanks.

I had to use a care home because I found it difficult to live on my own. The experience was quite good and I would use the facilities again. My family were also quite satisfied with everything.

We are generally very satisfied with the care my mother receives. The receptionist is extremely efficient and welcoming and the staff appear engaged with my mother's condition and show her care and respect despite the difficult circumstances.
The home would benefit from additional parking spaces.

Tonbridge House has provided and continues to provide excellent care for my mother-in-law, aged 98, who has dementia. They have adapted provision very well over the two years she has been a resident, from facilitating varied interesting activities to now giving nursing care as her abilities, both mental
and physical, have declined. The administrator keeps us in touch with what is happening in the home, and the other staff also communicate concerns or needs. During this last year, they enabled us to have good video calls, then visits in a ‘pod’, and now face to face visits. The staff are compassionate, and the whole, the home has a ‘family feel. We are so pleased that we made the difficult decision to move my mother-in-law into the home when we did. Her isolation and anxiety (dementia-based) diminished from day one. She settled quickly and has been happy ever since. At the end of our visits, she cheerily waves goodbye and is happily wheeled away by the carer. She sees the staff as ‘family’.

Great service provided by all the staff, very supportive and flexible in their approach. Modern and clean rooms and facilities. The location is also very good with easy access from A21, local bus network and very close to the railway station.

My mother entered Tonbridge House Care Home in January 2020 after 3 months in hospital. From her first day there until she passed away at the beginning of June I felt that she was in safe, caring, highly professional hands. As a regular visitor, I found the home extremely welcoming and comfortable (and
generous with their cake) and the staff open and approachable whether discussing medical or financial matters. Overall, this home, in my opinion, has some outstanding people working in it and I'm very grateful for the care they gave my mother during the last phase of her life.

My auntie lived at Tonbridge House for fourteen months before passing away recently. The love and care she and we experienced during her time there was exemplary. We visited every day and saw first hand the wonderful care provided by this amazingly dedicated team. The team understood how much we missed
her when the home closed to visitors and we rang most days and although they were extremely busy they always took as much time as was needed to let us know how auntie was doing. Sadly Auntie's health was beginning to decline but they explained their concerns clearly and the strategies in place to support her. We were only too happy to follow their very clearly set out safety procedures when we were allowed to visit and stay with her in the last few days of her life. She was treated with such dignity and respect and we were so well supported. We could not have asked for more - Tonbridge House is an amazing place. Thank you all so much.

No Covod-19 at the home at present, which says a lot.

Tonbridge House is a home of exceptional standards. As of today's date, there has been no cases of Covid-19. Nothing is too much much for the staff and management. They are there for everyone. There is such a homely atmosphere from the moment you step inside. The food is excellent and the domestic standards
are excellent also. The fees are high but my husband is happy there, which puts my mind at rest and I know he is in good hands.

We are all in an uncertain place at the moment, but this worry of knowing that our loved ones are cared for is a much lighter burden thanks to the genuine love and care that is

I can't praise this lovely home high enough. The building is modern, clean and comfortable and very well furnished, but what makes it special is the kindness and care given to all the residents and indeed to their relatives when needed. My mother has lived there for 18 months now and I honestly believe
we could not have found a better place for her. Each resident is treated as an individual. There are plenty of activities and events available and a lovely garden to sit in when the weather allows. In the strange and worrying times we find ourselves in with Covid-19, all the staff have gone out of their way to protect the residents, we have been comforted by the constant efforts of the residents' manager to provide regular video call sessions and it means a lot to feel we can trust everyone there to do their very best. I would not hesitate to recommend Tonbridge House to anyone.

Finding a suitable care home for our mother seemed such a daunting task, We visited several care homes in Tunbridge Wells but either they seemed like big hotels or they were dowdy and depressing, or didn't accept dementia residents. I cannot explain the relief I felt stepping into Tonbridge House and
meeting the head nurse. She was sympathetic and understanding from the beginning. The residents seem very happy, which to me says everything I didn't think that homes like Tonbridge House existed, but it is how it should be.

My mother-in-law came here for a one month rehab, and she was touch and go healthwise to start with, but the care was 1st class. Nothing was too much trouble, whatever was asked or required was given without question. She loved the food too, and her recovery was amazing.

Whilst I write this review in April 2020, our Mother has been in residence since February when we were able to see how she settled, how great the staff are and how wonderful the food is! The manager and his entire team are now doing wonders during this very very difficult time. We regularly 'see' mum
over video chat, and when we speak to her, even given her dementia, she still seems reasonably chirpy. She told us how she had been out in the garden. She thinks of the dining room a bit like going to a restaurant and sometimes enjoys being in the lounge with the others to watch her favourite directive programmes. We could not have coped over this time and thank each and every one of their staff for what they are continuing to do in keeping our mother safe.

Hello, my name is Rebekah Dorey, and I am the Client Services Manager here at Tonbridge House.


I have been working with the NHS in Patient Flow for the past 8 years and recently joined Tonbridge House. My role is to support individuals and families exploring care options by providing clear, helpful information and guiding them through the admissions process with ease and reassurance. I take great pride in meeting with families, understanding their needs and working together to ensure their loved ones receive compassionate care while continuing to enjoy a fulfilling and engaging lifestyle in our home.


Outside of work, I enjoy walking, mountain biking, going to the gym and skiing when I get the opportunity. I also enjoy spending time and having fun with my 2 grandchildren.
