My auntie lived at Tonbridge House for fourteen months before passing away recently. The love and care she and we experienced during her time there was exemplary. We visited every day and saw first hand the wonderful care provided by this amazingly dedicated team. The team understood how much we missed
her when the home closed to visitors and we rang most days and although they were extremely busy they always took as much time as was needed to let us know how auntie was doing. Sadly Auntie's health was beginning to decline but they explained their concerns clearly and the strategies in place to support her. We were only too happy to follow their very clearly set out safety procedures when we were allowed to visit and stay with her in the last few days of her life. She was treated with such dignity and respect and we were so well supported. We could not have asked for more - Tonbridge House is an amazing place. Thank you all so much.

No Covod-19 at the home at present, which says a lot.
Everything really perfect about the house. Dad is very happy. Fees a bit high though.

Tonbridge House is a home of exceptional standards. As of today's date, there has been no cases of Covid-19. Nothing is too much much for the staff and management. They are there for everyone. There is such a homely atmosphere from the moment you step inside. The food is excellent and the domestic standards
are excellent also. The fees are high but my husband is happy there, which puts my mind at rest and I know he is in good hands.

Tonbridge House Care Home is an amazing family of carers, and during this crisis, particularly go above and beyond on care. We are all in an uncertain place at the moment, but this worry of knowing that our loved ones are cared for is a much lighter burden thanks to the genuine love and care that is
given by all the staff at Tonbridge House.
We can't thank you enough for making life as good as it gets; thank you.

I can't praise this lovely home high enough. The building is modern, clean and comfortable and very well furnished, but what makes it special is the kindness and care given to all the residents and indeed to their relatives when needed. My mother has lived there for 18 months now and I honestly believe
we could not have found a better place for her. Each resident is treated as an individual. There are plenty of activities and events available and a lovely garden to sit in when the weather allows. In the strange and worrying times we find ourselves in with Covid-19, all the staff have gone out of their way to protect the residents, we have been comforted by the constant efforts of the residents' manager to provide regular video call sessions and it means a lot to feel we can trust everyone there to do their very best. I would not hesitate to recommend Tonbridge House to anyone.

Finding a suitable care home for our mother seemed such a daunting task, We visited several care homes in Tunbridge Wells but either they seemed like big hotels or they were dowdy and depressing, or didn't accept dementia residents. I cannot explain the relief I felt stepping into Tonbridge House and
meeting the head nurse. She was sympathetic and understanding from the beginning. The residents seem very happy, which to me says everything I didn't think that homes like Tonbridge House existed, but it is how it should be.

My mother-in-law came here for a one month rehab, and she was touch and go healthwise to start with, but the care was 1st class. Nothing was too much trouble, whatever was asked or required was given without question. She loved the food too, and her recovery was amazing.

Whilst I write this review in April 2020, our Mother has been in residence since February when we were able to see how she settled, how great the staff are and how wonderful the food is! The manager and his entire team are now doing wonders during this very very difficult time. We regularly 'see' mum
over video chat, and when we speak to her, even given her dementia, she still seems reasonably chirpy. She told us how she had been out in the garden. She thinks of the dining room a bit like going to a restaurant and sometimes enjoys being in the lounge with the others to watch her favourite directive programmes. We could not have coped over this time and thank each and every one of their staff for what they are continuing to do in keeping our mother safe.

We have been consistently impressed with the quality of life Tonbridge House affords its residents. The staff genuinely care for them over and above any contractual obligation. They are kind and thoughtful and really understand the individual needs of the people they are caring for. Nothing has ever
been too much trouble, and our relative is the happiest and most content she has been since needing care.

When we first walked through the door we could feel that this was going to be the place our mum could be happy and safe living with dementia. Such a warm welcome and a professional team. Beautifully furnished, spacious communal areas and bedrooms. Clean and fresh. All the staff are friendly and extremely
helpful and knowledgeable in their profession. Food is of a good standard and the residents have access to snacks and drinks at any time. There are plenty of activities and entertainment or individual time. They also have a fabulous garden, in-house laundry service and hairdressing salon.
During this dreadful Covid -19 pandemic, this home has been well prepared and has fantastic procedures in place. My family and I are so thankful to all at Tonbridge House for the care they give to our mum and all the other residents. 1st class service all the way.

Tonbridge House is luxurious yet homely with comfortable bedrooms and communal spaces; my mother particularly likes to sit in the light, welcoming bistro and watch the world go by. The sunny garden is another attractive, well-used asset for sitting quietly or planned activities/parties.
Most importantly
all the staff, whatever their duties, are so attentive and put so much into caring for the residents, creating a warm, happy, safe environment.
It is a huge consolation at this difficult time when we cannot visit to know that my mother is in the safest place she could be and the effort that has been made to enable us to video call is another example of Tonbridge House going the extra mile.
I would recommend without hesitation.

Both my parents suffered from dementia/Alzheimer's and went to stay in Tonbridge House in October last year. Unfortunately, my father passed away on Christmas Eve due to his dementia but my mother still lives there. All the staff have been, and continue to be, absolutely fantastic. Nothing is too much
trouble and mum is extremely happy there. Even at this time of the Covid-19 pandemic, although they sensibly locked down before government advice came out, they help family members like me hold video calls with my mum and also keep families up to date with social media. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The care at this home is exceptional on every level. It has a warm and welcoming home environment, the staff here have a wonderful, cheerful, relaxed air about them and you feel like you and the resident are part of the family immediately. But they work so hard to create this wonderful atmosphere, with
activities for the residents, exceptional food in the dining room, and the home is always immaculately clean. Its' a wonderful home and we were lucky to find it.

The best decision my brother and I made was to get our dear mum a place at Tonbridge House.
All the staff I have met or spoken to are very helpful and knowledgeable, whatever their position. The staff care for mum in a very kind way and she is treated with dignity. The staff go out of their way to
provide an excellent service to the residents. The home is kept very clean and tidy.
The activities provided are well thought out and enjoyed by those taking part. The food is excellent and they cater to mum's needs.
When I have visited, I have found everyone very welcoming and there is always a good atmosphere. We enjoy the cafe facilities for visitors and the garden too.

So happy that dad is being so well cared for, here over a year now in Tonbridge House. Every single care worker is always so positive and forthcoming to dad's urgent requirements. Never a dull moment here, maximum effort maintained, and when something is needed to update or change, it is always pointed
out to me as soon as possible. Love everyone's engagement together, to always put a little smile on the resident's faces, no matter how difficult it can be.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.875)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.875) out of 10 for Tonbridge House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 26 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.875 for Tonbridge House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (276 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 311 Ratings = 4.875
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Tonbridge House Care Home is based on 26 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6, which has been reached with 26 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
