Marigold Nursing Home in Sunderland offers 24/7 residential care, elderly care, end of life care, respite care and general nursing care, as well as dementia care.

All rooms come with an en-suite facility, pets are allowed and residents can access WiFi from anywhere in the property.

The care home is set in the grounds of quiet and secluded mature gardens, with a large seating area for residents to enjoy fresh air with family and friends.

My partner has been in this home for over six months now and her four daughters and I are more than happy with the home. All the staff are excellent and always happy to help. We could not ask for a better place for our family. The manager is very approachable, kind and caring.

Having visited my friend in a number of local care homes I believe, at last, we have found the right home for her. The staff here are so friendly and attentive at all times when I visit. My friend's room is beautifully kept and always clean and tidy. The staff are like family and have genuine feelings

Mam was thankfully accepted to stay at The Marigold Nursing home following a long stay in hospital. Unfortunately, it was a short stay but I feel blessed that Mam's last days were spent among people who cared. I can honestly say that Mam received the very best palliative care here and they gave her
back her dignity and peace. Their care was exceptional at every level form the manager, carers, cook and other staff. In the short time she was in their care, Mam looked at home there and it gives me comfort, since her passing, that I made the right choice and I can't thank them enough. Mam passed away feeling safe, happy and comfortable which made her passing easier to accept. God bless you all.

Mam moved into the home in June 2019 and my sisters and I are very happy with the care and support Mam receives. Every time we visit, Mam is dressed with her hair done and clean clothes. The food is varied and there is always something available. Mam has settled very well and I feel this is due to the
lovely manager, carers and other staff around her. Everyone is so courteous, happy to speak to us, always smiling and supportive. This has really helped me, knowing how well cared for Mam is.

The first impression of the Marigold is very friendly and you all feel a part of one big family. The staff treat the residents like their own family. They are so caring, friendly, approachable, helpful and patient and will go out of their way to cover any wishes or needs for the patients/residents.
I don't have any worries when I leave my mother in the Marigold. We both know that she is being cared for by the capable and caring staff.

No complaints whatsoever. Staff are very attentive at all times and fantastic care is given day and night. Mum was there for palliative care and was looked after extremely well. She felt safe and was very comfortable at all times. I would highly recommend the Marigold Nursing Home.

Marigold continues to be a welcoming and happy home to entre. Carers and management strive to maintain good care and harmony for all.
Freedom of communication with all staff on all matters (trivial or important) is extremely reassuring.
Personal preferences and habits of residents are respected.
Family
members visiting residents do not feel restricted to set times etc. Overall, Marigold is home to all.

My husband has moved into Marigold three weeks ago. He is treated with so much dignity and respect at all times. The staff have made this home from home for my husband.
It is bright, clean, comfortable and the food is amazing. I can't complain about anything at all. Amazing home!

I am very happy with care at Marigold.
My husband can be very angry, agitated but they know how to cope. At home, I couldn't wash/shave etc. I had to stop weekly carer as he just got sworn at!
Staff are lovely to me, always there when I get upset, manager does everything to run an excellent dementia
care home.

Absolutely superb all round. All staff, managers, nurses, carers, cooks, even the owner, all part of the family. Activities, knitting, outings. I cannot speak highly enough. Always approachable, considerate, caring and patient. Mother has been in other homes which pale into insignificance.

My mother moved into Marigold when it opened in April 2018. I have no concerns and I am very happy with her care; she remains very settled, calm, content and happy.
Her skin integrity and appetite improved quickly, episodes of distress reduced and she's had no UTIs. This continues to be the case
and I have every confidence this excellent level of care will continue.
I have total faith in the manager, ALL of his team AND the Nominated Individual. The manager has demonstrated compassion, care, commitment and professionalism in all areas of running the home. His standards are extremely high, I trust him to employ only caring and compassionate staff. His door is always open to discuss issues or concerns he encourages ideas, suggestions and feedback.
He and his team are imaginative and enthusiastic when it comes to enhancing and enriching the lives of the residents.
I am happy my mother is living in a loving home with people around her who I now consider to be my extended family.

My Mum came here in August of this year with advanced dementia. I can honestly say we could not have selected a better nursing home anywhere. The staff are so caring. I have seen them spend up to 2 hours with my Mum to ensure that she eats her food. She is always spotlessly clean. The Manager is always
very approachable and is always on hand to answer any questions. A wonderful place and highly recommended.

Marigold Nursing Home are completely exceptional. Following a not very positive experience in an inferior dementia unit, we moved mam to Marigold. They have nurtured and cared for her and took the time to get to know Mam as an individual. She is happy, bright, chatty in her own way and it is clear she
is well looked after and cared for and also cared about. It is a bright and happy place with a lovely atmosphere.
There are activities every day and the management team have some innovative ways of engaging with the residents, which work incredibly well. Making the decision that a parent has to go into a care home is heart breaking. But entrusting Mam to the amazing staff and managers at Marigold has helped us to cope. We firmly believe that Marigold rescued my mam.

The home was recommended by our social worker - I did internet research and asked people about it and all I heard was good things. I visited without arrangement and felt comfortable and welcomed from the start. I was given a tour and was impressed at the cleanliness of the home the well-decorated rooms
- all with natural light and en-suite and colourful corridors and communal areas. Staff were welcoming and friendly and looked happy to be at work. I returned unarranged again with my father and given the tour again. It was perfect and I really thought from the first visit, that my mum would feel at home here and it would cater for her needs (moderate/severe dementia). It is designed with dementia research at the fore. Family meetings occur on a monthly basis and management are open to feedback and promote it as a home for the entire family, not just the resident. My mum has only been in there a few days but we are very happy with the care and support shown to her and our family.

This care home has been recently renovated and to a high standard. The rooms are nice and the communal spaces are bright and modern with wall art which stimulates the resident's memories. The staff are all friendly and kind to the residents and family members are made very welcome. The manager is a
credit to the home and he ensures it runs smoothly.
