Marigold Nursing Home in Sunderland offers 24/7 residential care, elderly care, end of life care, respite care and general nursing care, as well as dementia care.

All rooms come with an en-suite facility, pets are allowed and residents can access WiFi from anywhere in the property.

The care home is set in the grounds of quiet and secluded mature gardens, with a large seating area for residents to enjoy fresh air with family and friends.

Languages spoken by staff include English, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. The team of nurses, carers, kitchen staff and assistants work hard to create a safe, comfortable and enjoyable place for residents to live.

The catering team provide a fresh balanced menu which is planned with the consultation of residents.

Marigold previously looked after my aunt. During that time the care she received was excellent which led the family to have our grandmother transferred her from another home as we felt Marigold was much more suited to her as we know she will get the best care and attention provided. Myself and my family
are extremely grateful for everything Marigold do.

Since my dad came to this nursing home, his care has been excellent. It is a wonderful home, the staff are very kind and they attend to my dad's needs wonderfully and I feel he is happy and settled here. The staff are very attentive when I need to ask anything.

The manager and his team cared for my father only briefly before his death in April. Our only regret is that he couldn't have been with Marigold longer as I know he was happy there. I will be forever grateful for their care and concern for Dad and subsequently the family after Dad's passing.

The choice of home was our preferred option and we were so pleased that they has a place for him. The staff are everything you could wish for your loved ones. Nothing is too much to ask for. The medical, social and loving care are very obvious. Even the cleaning staff are very pleasant. The manager
is obviously outstanding, but also approachable. I would be happy to recommend this home, even if it is for end of life care. My husband and is also impressed.

I cannot thank the manager and all the staff at the home for the care and support they have shown my dad since he transferred into the home just before Christmas. This was an extremely stressful time for the family due to the very short timescale we were given to move Dad from his previous home. What
really stands out is the level of care and professionalism that the whole team consistently show to residents and their families. It is such a comfort to know your loved one is being looked after and is settled and happy and their needs are fully understood. For the home to have been Covid free during these very challenging times, is a testament to the hard work and safety measures that have been put in place to keep residents and staff safe, so thank you again for all your hard work in this area. Our family believe Dad's move has been a really positive one and he is now in a home that is caring and understanding. Well done on your CQC rating which is outstanding and a credit to the team.

I can't praise this care home enough, from the care of our lovely mam has been outstanding, dignity at all times. The staff have been fantastic looking after Mam, even to seeing to our needs too. I would highly recommend Marigold Nursing Home to look after any of my family any day.

This is the 3rd care home my sister has been in and Marigold Nursing Home is by far the best. I feel happy with all the staff and their care for my sister and the way the home is run. I feel she is safe in their care.

I was looking at care homes months ago, we have no family, my lovely husband has dementia, I'm always looking ahead, I went around quite a few. Someone told me about Marigold Nursing Home. I got an appointment to look around. The managers, nurses, staff, even the general staff, you could tell they care
about the people they looked after. My husband has been in Marigold, I was right for three weeks, they asked about what meals he liked, he was always well-groomed and happy, staff were wonderful. If my husband is well looked after by a wonderful team from the top to the bottom, my life is complete. Thank you.

The care and kindness are genuine and extend beyond the residents. The staff treat relatives of residents with the same compassion. The management was efficient and effective, responded sensitively and timely to our communication needs with my brother-in-law. Even facilitating him to communicate with
his nephew overseas.

The hard-working management and staff are committed to providing residents with dignified care. They have always nurtured and cared for my brother with absolute professionalism. Although my brother did not talk about the activities I have seen photographs of him enjoying activities. The staff have always
been friendly and understanding and have taken the time to help me to keep in touch with my brother. I have always been impressed by their compassion and dedication and cannot praise them highly enough.

My mother spent a number of weeks in Marigold Nursing Home suffering with lung cancer which had spread significantly. Mam passed away in December with the staff by her side and I can honestly say the staff, care, social interaction, standards, nursing, in fact, everything about this home is outstanding,
led by fantastic management who genuinely care and treat you as family. Mam had the best end of life care and experience possible and now my dad is also unwell with cancer, he will be hopefully admitted shortly and we would not want him to be anywhere else! Thank you all the team with our love.

My mam is cared for with utmost compassion and love by the staff at Marigold. Her needs are anticipated and met with prompt attention. As a family, we are welcomed and comforted at each visit. Mam has recently been poorly and the staff were sympathetic, considerate and flexible with us.
