Mum has been at Mountview for over 3 years. She has always been very happy here, and as a family, we have been happy with the care and support given to her. There are always plenty of activities available to the residents, but Mum enjoys staying in her room, which she thinks is lovely. Staff do try to get her involved and sometimes succeed!

You walk into this place and you get blown away with what you are told it has to offer . Lovely garden and great Activities , Good food, nice Big room. I was so excited for my dad to move in Here but Unfortunately It didn't last long as-the company was brought out by a new company and the manager of the Care Home was replaced. It all went downhill from here. The new manager is unapproachable and Argumentative You should be able to approach the care home manager with any problems and be met with an understanding ear and Attitude of how can we move forward.

Thank you for your review. At Mountview Care Home, we take all concerns raised very seriously. Unfortunately, Mountview Care Home is registered as a residential care facility, and we are therefore unable to accommodate residents who require nursing level care. If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact us directly.

My mother has been a permanent resident at Mountview, Rothley for just over nine months now and I could not be happier with the wonderful care and attention which she has received since her admission. It is always a pleasure for me to visit my mum in Mountview as the warmth and cheerful friendliness of every member of staff is really quite exceptional - from Front-of-House Laura and the Management Team through to all the Carers and the Cleaning/Maintenance and Kitchen staff, I can honestly say that every single person goes the extra mile. All my mother's needs are catered to with compassion and thoughtfulness, and I particularly appreciate all the good humour and smiling faces.

I could not imagine my mother being settled anywhere better!

It was very difficult for us to have send our dad into a care home but the staff here at Mountview have been incredibly supportive of both our father and ourselves, especially as we all live overseas. Its good for us to know he is safe and well cared for. He says himself (despite his poor cognition) that he is very happy here and how wonderful all the staff are - so thank you everyone.

Mount View came highly recommended, including a super referral from an ex-employee who we know. My dad had been struggling in his own house for some time and when we enquired, the Mount View management team made every effort to accommodate him at short notice.

Mount View has been superb for my dad. His health and well-being has improved significantly. The home is clean, well resourced and the team genuinely care about the residents 10/10.

My Father moved to Mountview from a care home in County Durham. Firstly the support I personally received from staff at Mountview through a very trying time with mum passing and wanting to move Dad closer to the family was very much appreciated. Dad has now been at Mountview for 4 weeks and he really is so much happier and brighter. Every single member of staff including the non care staff have been fantastic with both Dad and our whole family. The cleanliness is outstanding, the homely feel of the home is safe and inviting, the activities are varied and uplifting, the attention to little details to make Dad feel happy, comfortable and cared for, are really second to none. We chose this home as we had visited with toddler groups and were impressed, it has been the best decision, I can not thank each and every one enough.

My mother was admitted to Mountview on the 7th of June 2025. We had to move quickly to get Mum a home, and boy didn't we do well! What a wonderful home. From day one the staff were so welcoming, and treated Mum like she was the only one in the home. There is a lovely feel to the home, this is down to all of the staff. Mum's room was absolutely fabulous, and the staff helped her settle in really well. Mum was treated with compassion and understanding from day one, and it is down to all of them for getting Mum back on track. Thank you all.

My Mum has now been living at Mountview for over four years. I could not think of a better or more caring environment for her to be in. The staff are friendly and kind in every way and I have absolutely no worries about entrusting Mum to their care. The food and activities are excellent and each bedroom is a special home from home for the resident. The inclusive hairdressing is a special treat, as are the lovely birthday cakes, nail salon and bar/darts nights. Mum never has any complaints and I am sure that her health is being well- monitored when I am not around.

Mountview Care home has a lovely feel to it and the staff are friendly and approachable.
The staff are always on hand to make my mother's stay at the home as comfortable as possible.

Lovely layout for a care home, but I've noticed what lets it down is the TV/Lounge which looks very dated and needs some work doing as most of the residents seem to sit in there a lot including my mother. Also there seems a lot of light bulbs are not working walking to my mothers room making areas dark for my mother to safely walk to her room. Also quite a few furniture and fittings need attention. But overall apart from a few basic maintenance issues the home is lovely.

From our initial enquiry the support and communication was and is excellent. The staff are always helpful proactive and caring. Mountview is exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated and homely. The thought that has gone into the home is exceptional to ensure the residents have a wide variety of rooms to access and activities to join in including the gardens. Thank you to management, receptionist, domestic staff, chefs and staff.

After being gravely ill in hospital for 5 weeks, my friend came to Mountview as a bridge between hospital and home.

The care he has received has been excellent. The care home facilities are very good, but it is the professionalism and attitude of the staff that is worthy of the highest praise. From day one he has felt safe and care for and has been treated like a family member.

Following a 5 1/2 week in Leicester Hospital, I was transferred to Mountview for a 4 week residency. I was greeted by the staff and taken to my room where I was settled in. Initially I needed help showering and with general care. I used a frame for walking the first week, then graduated to using a walking stick but now having regained confidence, I became self sufficient with self care and mobility. My residency finished and I cant thank the staff enough for restoring my life.

Dad originally went into Mountview for two weeks of recuperation after a pelvic fracture, which he then extended for another two weeks. Two days after he'd gone back home he declared he wanted to go back full time which was a great comfort to us as we knew he'd be safe there. He really enjoyed living at Mountview as the staff were very friendly and very caring and he was well looked after. The nice thing is that over the year he was there, there was minimal turnover of staff which created a very nice caring atmosphere. There are activities on offer every morning and afternoon but it's not a problem if you don't want to get involved. The staff were exemplary during Dad's last few weeks, making sure he was comfortable and also making sure any family visitors were fed and watered. The homemade biscuits and cakes are very good! I cannot thank Mountview enough and I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Sadly, our mother was hospitalised for 4 weeks following several falls. On arriving at hospital, where she had travelled unaccompanied by any staff from the care home, I was shown photographs of a large bedsore on her buttock (a 'never event' according to the NHS) and another on her heel. These were obtained during her time at Mountview. We were told by the home that she had Impetigo (a highly contagious skin disease caused by poor hygiene). Even if this were the case, it still reflects appallingly on the home. Cosmetically, this home ticks most of the boxes, and some of the staff who work there are genuinely caring individuals. Unfortunately, our experience was devastating and highlighted the shortcomings of care, empathy and compassion that she was often met with. Avoid!

My sister who sadly passed away in Mountview in December had been a resident for nearly 6 years in all that time she was cared for with total love and affection by all staff at all times. I never heard her complain about anything and for me, I couldn't think of anywhere better to have a loved one reside either for short or long-term care. These places come at an expense but in my experience, Mountview is exceptional in its approach to caring for those who need it.
