Dad appears to be very well cared for. The staff are always welcoming whenever I visit. The building is very well designed for ease of access and social areas. Knowing the high standard of care has greatly reduced stress levels for Mum and the rest of the family.

My father was 100 years old when he came to the care home and was there for 10 weeks before he sadly passed away. Every single member of staff treated him with care, empathy and respect. making his short stay there as pleasurable as it could have been. The home is very clean and well furnished, the
rooms are lovely and nothing is too much trouble in making his room 'home from home'. The staff cheerful and positive and always something happening, and plenty of entertainment. Family welcome to come and visit at any time. Would highly recommend Mountiew to any friends.

The home really is a home from home. Staff are caring, kind and compassionate often going above and beyond creating an atmosphere of extended family. Rooms are large, well-equipped and nicely decorated. The home is spacious, has exceptional facilities and is always clean and tidy. The food is freshly
cooked and is varied, healthy and delicious. I am always impressed with the home and its staff when I visit my aunt. I have no hesitation in recommending Mountview.

The home is a lovely place.
Most of the staff are lovely and really good at their job. Some, it would be nice if they would be a little more welcoming.
I understand if it a times a very challenging job.
The receptionist at the weekends is lovely and always has a welcoming smile.
Overall, a nice
home.

I was really glad to see where my sister was living, as I was concerned because she moved from very near me in Rochester, Kent to live near her son who lived in Loughborough. But once I had visited and seen the care home, her lovely room and all the facilities there were for her to use, I felt so relieved
and happy, especially when I met some of the staff and saw her laughing with them when I arrived. All the staff were very professional and caring.

Once again, very impressed with the home. Mum has been able to settle in very quickly due to the excellent care and support of everyone working at the home. The facilities are wonderful and Mum has everything she needs that she had at home, plus lots of daily activities. She is particularly fond of
the homemade cakes and desserts. We have such peace of mind knowing Mum is at Mountview.

Mum has now been at Mountview for 14 months. I can honestly say that every single time I visit, generally twice each week, it is a positive experience. Mum is always very well cared for and relaxed, which is lovely to see. Mum enjoys her own company but joins in the activities that she enjoys, and the
staff are always happy to help her get to them. She has made friends with several residents and staff. As a family, we were extremely concerned that Mum would not adapt, but we all agree that it is the best thing that we have done for her and Mum is very happy.

I have been a visitor for over two years now, calling almost every day. On every occasion, Mountview is clean, calm, professional and caring staff at every turn. I am always made welcome. The resident I visit is always well cared for. I come into contact with not just the carers, but the management
team, cleaners, hairdresser and kitchen staff, I know them all very well - they are like a big extended family. I would recommend Mountview to anyone who wants an exceptionally high standard of care for their loved one.

Mountview Care Home took my husband for respite care at short notice. They were efficient and he settled in. His conditions were not easy for staff to deal with but they all managed. It became clear that my husband needed nursing care and so, after six weeks, he left to enter a nursing home.

Fabulous care home and incredible staff. My mum has vascular dementia and after a recent hospital admission, we realised she could no longer live independently. Unfortunately, she didn’t think she was ready for a care home. The staff could not have been more helpful, talking us through the process and
giving us an extensive tour of Mountview. They visited my mum and talked her through the process and were really understanding with her. She moved in, initially, on a respite basis but this was soon permanent. The staff are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. There is an extensive program of activities every day and even trips out. The food is great and all homemade. It’s been a difficult process made much easier by the wonderful staff.

As always the staff at Mountview Care Home continue to go above and beyond in their efforts to support Mum.
What is also clear is how well the staff are trained and supported and how much they enjoy working at Mountview. It's really a family atmosphere.
Mum says she is lucky to be there and couldn't
ask for more. It's wonderful for us to know she is in such caring hands.
The premises are beautifully kept and it's a pleasure to visit, always something going on for the residents and community and a happy environment.

Mum having stayed for 2 weeks respite decided to stay. Staff support and communication was excellent throughout her time in residence. Sadly medical issues prevented her participation in all activities on offer but she never felt left out. Her passing was a dignified process for the family and staff
who proved extremely helpful during a difficult time.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at Mountview Care HomeThank you for taking the time to write a review. Firstly, we are so sorry for your loss, it will be felt throughout the home for a long time. We are just pleased that we could offer you the support needed through such a difficult time and, although your mum couldn’t participate as fully as perhaps she would have wanted it’s great that we could keep her involved and happy during her time with us.

Mum loves it here! Since coming to Mountview, her quality of life has improved beyond recognition. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, and I always get a rundown on how she's been when I visit.
The entertainment is varied and caters for all, and Mum picks and chooses what she gets involved in.
Having seen other care homes through voluntary work, I do in my spare time, Mountview stands head and shoulders above the rest, and I would have no reservations in recommending it to anyone wishing for a quality home!
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at Mountview Care HomeWhat a wonderful review! We have always thought Mountview is a cut above, but it’s lovely when somebody else says it too! It’s really important to us that we help our residents thrive, and it sounds like your mum is having a fabulous time. Your recommendation is very much appreciated; thank you.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.642)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.642) out of 10 for Mountview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.642 for Mountview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (219 Excellents x 5) + (37 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 274 Ratings = 4.642
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Mountview Care Home is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
