Mountview Care Home

The staff were extremely helpful during a difficult time. My uncle died and the staff were excellent. They kept him pain free and comfortable up to the end.

The caring staff carry out their work with compassion and dignity. The home feels like a luxury hotel and not a bit like the stereotypical care home image of the past. I would recommend to other family and friends.

Absolutely amazing care home. All staff are so friendly, caring and welcoming, not only to the residents but also to visiting friends and relatives. The home is spotlessly clean and meals always look appetising. The range of activities provided is excellent. My mum has been here for a month and already looks and feels so much healthier and happier.

Our first impression of Mountview care home was of a five-star hotel. The care and support provided to my sister was exceptional, and we would like to thank all the staff for their kindness, courtesy and friendliness throughout my sister's stay.

My sister-in-law came to Mountview Care Home for 2 weeks and stayed. She became quite ill and was treated so well by all the staff. She could not have had better treatment anywhere. Her room was warm, cosy and comfortable. We visited as often as we liked, and at times convenient to all family and friends. They all helped us through a sad time.

Overall very good in spite of very few staff. Dad has shown real improvement since he arrived just over a week ago and has been calm and comfortable.

The home is bright, open and welcoming. Ideal staff are excellent and management visible and available at all times. The rooms are large, bright and homely. The visitor parking is restricted and improvements are required. The meal options are satisfactory but could be improved at minimum cost and this would be appreciated by most of the residents. Care staff - resident ration is acceptable but can be under pressure at times during the day.

In terms of the environment, the grounds were neglected.

My father has been a resident at Mountview from the day it opened. Overall very pleased with the service provided. Staff helpful and pleasant and respond to my father's needs very well. Always a pleasure to visit Dad in his new home.

Mount View is perfect. We can imagine a group of medics, practitioners, care staff, entertainment providers, carers and social workers, psychologists, sociologists - having a long meeting and discussing all the care of the elderly requirements and then providing them in a brand new home. We wish our mother (end of life intensive care) had gone in earlier.

Food is good and there is always a choice. Snacks and drinks arrive regularly.

The welcome he received was delightful and Dad was given a very comfortable room. All the staff are friendly and professional. Excellent medical care is given. Joining in social activities and meal times is greatly encouraged. My family feel confident Dad is being very well cared for and respected. We are very grateful. Thank you.

My mother moved to Mountview in September when living independently was no longer a safe option for her due to her recently diagnosed dementia. This was a big step for all of us but has been made easier by the kindness, professionalism and facilities provided by Mountview. My mother is now very settled. She has stimulation and companionship every day and we are content in the knowledge that her needs are more than being met.

My sister was only at Mountview for just over three weeks before she died. She loved being there and was so happy from the moment she arrived. Her time there was filled with love, compassion and care and we wouldn't have wished her to be anywhere else. I would not hesitate to recommend Mountview.

The layout and cleanliness of the home is to a very high standard. It is very reassuring to know my father is looked after and safe through 24 hours. This is down to the excellent and hardworking staff. This staff are dedicated but still manage to make you feel welcome when visiting at any hour.

My mum was really well cared for, it was a lovely home, staff were friendly and kind to mum. Mountview was clean and the food was excellent.

My welcome was most friendly and I was told to treat my stay as a holiday, which I have tried to do. I have no complaints about my stay, staff, facilities, food, in fact, everything 1st class.

What a fantastic care home - would highly recommend - the facilities are 5 stars and the staff couldn't do enough to help - my mum loved the cinema - I haven't witnessed her enjoy a film or laugh so much for a long time. I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely care home.

Staff were very skilled at diverting her attention and engaging her in activities. They were patient and gave us the time we needed with our regular phone calls and visits. Mum enjoyed all the activities, the cinema, the hairdressing appointments. There was a full range of activities, the staff could not have been nicer, the facilities and furnishing were of an extremely high standard. There's space and lots of lounges where the family could spend time with relatives and family were also able to attend some of the activities too. Mum was so well looked after: she looked well, smart and presented as really happy. Mum suddenly died after two weeks and two nights and we were so grateful she was at Mountview as they had the technology to be on hand immediately when she was taken ill. The staff were so caring and supportive both of Mum at this difficult time and of all family members following her death.

Genuinely, nothing is too much trouble. There is always something to do or a quiet space to have quality time as a family. This is true resident centered care where it’s the little things that make a big difference such as no set visiting hours and knowing Mum’s favourite drink. As the staff at Mountview have become part of our family it has been wonderful to see the change in mum, they have given her her life back.
