When this care home opened, the management and care were exemplary. However, in the last year or so, there appear to be several changes in management and staff.
My observations indicate that standards are not what they were, more agency staff are unfamiliar with the residents.
I had to ask that my
mother's personal care to be addressed as she had filthy finger mails and her teeth needed cleaning. This shouldn't be required in a home that costs residents £50k a year!
In terms of the environment, the grounds were neglected.

My father has been a resident at Mountview from the day it opened. Overall very pleased with the service provided. Staff helpful and pleasant and respond to my father's needs very well. Always a pleasure to visit Dad in his new home.

Mount View is perfect. We can imagine a group of medics, practitioners, care staff, entertainment providers, carers and social workers, psychologists, sociologists - having a long meeting and discussing all the care of the elderly requirements and then providing them in a brand new home. We wish our
mother (end of life intensive care) had gone in earlier.

We have been very happy with the care provided at Mountview.
Staff are friendly and helpful. There is an ethos of individual care, particularly from regular staff and management. They support the family and keep us well informed.
There are two sessions of activities every day which Mum sometimes joins
but not regularly. Staff do encourage her but don't insist she takes part. Family activities are included but we can join in any time.
The facilities for activities are good e.g cinema, coffee shop. There are trips out and all residents are able to join in if they wish.
Food is good and there is always a choice. Snacks and drinks arrive regularly.

My first contact with Mountview was by telephone when looking for a quality care home for my Dad, who is 94 years of age. The response from the receptionist was warm and sincere. A visit was offered and taken up. The warmth of Mountview was immediately felt. After discussing my Dad’s needs, and what
Mountview offers we were very happy that this would be a good place for him to be.
The welcome he received was delightful and Dad was given a very comfortable room. All the staff are friendly and professional. Excellent medical care is given. Joining in social activities and meal times is greatly encouraged. My family feel confident Dad is being very well cared for and respected. We are very grateful. Thank you.

My mother moved to Mountview in September when living independently was no longer a safe option for her due to her recently diagnosed dementia. This was a big step for all of us but has been made easier by the kindness, professionalism and facilities provided by Mountview. My mother is now very settled.
She has stimulation and companionship every day and we are content in the knowledge that her needs are more than being met.

My sister was only at Mountview for just over three weeks before she died. She loved being there and was so happy from the moment she arrived. Her time there was filled with love, compassion and care and we wouldn't have wished her to be anywhere else. I would not hesitate to recommend Mountview.

The layout and cleanliness of the home is to a very high standard. It is very reassuring to know my father is looked after and safe through 24 hours. This is down to the excellent and hardworking staff. This staff are dedicated but still manage to make you feel welcome when visiting at any hour.

What a fantastic care home - would highly recommend - the facilities are 5 stars and the staff couldn't do enough to help - my mum loved the cinema - I haven't witnessed her enjoy a film or laugh so much for a long time. I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely care home.

A period of respite at Mountview was arranged for our Mum.
Staff were very skilled at diverting her attention and engaging her in activities. They were patient and gave us the time we needed with our regular phone calls and visits. Mum enjoyed all the activities, the cinema, the hairdressing appointments.
There was a full range of activities, the staff could not have been nicer, the facilities and furnishing were of an extremely high standard. There's space and lots of lounges where the family could spend time with relatives and family were also able to attend some of the activities too. Mum was so well looked after: she looked well, smart and presented as really happy. Mum suddenly died after two weeks and two nights and we were so grateful she was at Mountview as they had the technology to be on hand immediately when she was taken ill. The staff were so caring and supportive both of Mum at this difficult time and of all family members following her death.

Mountview is an exceptional care home. Not just because of the fantastic facilities, great food, friendly and uplifting atmosphere and exceptional range of activities but more importantly, the manager and her amazing team have provided mum with a real home, where she can be as independent as possible
but still receive the help she needs in a dignified and caring way without feeling that she is putting anyone out.
Genuinely, nothing is too much trouble. There is always something to do or a quiet space to have quality time as a family. This is true resident centered care where it’s the little things that make a big difference such as no set visiting hours and knowing Mum’s favourite drink. As the staff at Mountview have become part of our family it has been wonderful to see the change in mum, they have given her her life back.

I cannot fault this care home it is comparable to a 5 star hotel, the staff are amazing and make every effort to ensure the residents have the best possible care. My father moved in on the 4th December 2017 after my Mother passed away, he has dementia so we were really worried about him moving from
his home of 49 years. With the amazing care and attention he was given he settled almost instantly and it is of great comfort to us to see him happy and safe.

What a wonderful home with wonderful staff. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff go way above and beyond to make sure all the residents are well cared for and most importantly that they are happy. Time is taken to understand each and every resident and a wide and varied activity programme makes
sure that they always have something to look forward to. The cinema is a fantastic asset and means we can enjoy films as a family once again in a real cinema, something we haven't been able to do for years!!

We could not be more pleased with the standard of care at Mountview, and have no hesitation in entrusting Dad's care to the team.


The facility is brand new and extremely clean and very well appointed, it has more of a feel of a 5 star hotel than a care home!


Every member of staff we have met have

been friendly and very professional. We are delighted to have found a care home with such high standards.
