After my operation on 17-11-25 I had to find a place that would care for me I had an operation, a urine infection that got septic, and I nearly died. Coming to this place in March 2026 it was the perfect choice I have ever had in my life. I intended to stay here for another two months it is like being at home we are looking extremely well beautifully decorated and wonderful staff and lovely food.

My aunt was becoming unable to look after herself at her house so my wife searched for a suitable care home. She found the Wandsworth Common Care Home (WCCH) and after a visit we were sure that this would be ideal for my aunt. It was unlike any other care home we had ever been in - more like an upmarket hotel.
My aunt was not sure she was ready for a care home but after a further fall, and the offer of a month's trial she said yes. I have photographs of her on the day she arrived - still anxious from her previous life - and then 10 days later, totally relaxed and happy. She spent 9 glorious months in her beautiful apartment, but unfortunately, she had a severe stroke, and after spending time in hospital she was able to return to WCCH but she sadly passed away one week later.

What makes WCCH different is the beautiful environment but especially the staff who go above and beyond on so many occasions. They became a family to Joyce we always knew she was happy and well looked after.

What a care home should be. Exceptional leadership. Brilliant, friendly, knowledgeable, caring team. The facilities are second to none. Brilliant food which you can enjoy with your loved one if you happen to be around at mealtimes. The vision for dementia care is great, and the delivery of that vision is a clear and constant focus. I moved my dad from a slightly less expensive care home, where he had gone from mobile to bed-bound. Moving him to Wandsworth Common was an easy decision to make and one I never had cause to regret. They got him mobile again, and his standard of care went through the roof right from day 1. To the wonderful, caring team who supported my dad in his last months of life, I am eternally grateful. At a difficult time they turned our situation around. I have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone.

The help and support given to me in getting my aunt into speedy respite care was amazing.
Once there my aunt was delighted by the welcome at the home the warmth and friendliness made her feel safe and cared for.
The home was immaculate and gave me great peace of mind knowing that there was a home such as this available to my aunt.

I am very grateful to the staff for their care and dedication.

Dad (90) has now been here for a couple of months, and we all think the place is amazing. As our daughter, 16, marvelled: "this place doesn't feel like a care home". No, it is much nicer than that. The building looks like a yellow submarine from the outside, but inside it has the airy, luxurious feel of a grand hotel. Some of the same animation, too.

We very much enjoy our visits. Dad is full of praise for his carers, and it is heartening often to find him - a very shy man - chatting happily with others in the cafe or courtyard when we arrive, unannounced. Someone is quietly making the effort to see that this happens.

There are some lovely activities. The nursing care is on-the-ball, and we are all struck the wonderfully upbeat atmosphere that seems to run through the building. Dad loves being able to help himself to treats from the cafe; to have a glass of wine with supper; to invite us to join him for lunch. We feel blessed, and cannot imagine a better place for him.

As with many, it was a massive move for my 93 year-old stepmother to give up independent living and move into a care home. From the start, the Wandsworth team have been fantastic with her as she adjusts to her new way of life. The home is well run, well staffed and the atmosphere is WAY better than other care homes we viewed - with daily activities that are interesting and stimulating. Not that my stepmother does any of them - but she's very impressed with the hairdresser and manicurist! In the end, though, it is the quality of the staff that matters most and the Wandsworth carers are kind and engaging - and are working hard to get my stepmother more active. The lady on reception, is delightful and the management team don't hide away in an office. However, I was disappointed to read, if correct, that the carers are not paid while on a meal break during a shift...so I promptly deducted a star. Come on, Avery board of directors! You make enough to pay your staff correctly.

My cousin has now been in the Wandsworth Common Care Home for nearly a month and their care has been exemplary. From the welcome she received on the doorstep at her arrival to the on going medical and personal care, the nursing staff have all been charming, helpful and extremely competent. Her room is lovely and the common parts of the home seem delightful.

She has along way to go but is making slow but steady progress in the hands of the staff and their recommended physios. A huge relief that she is in now living in such a pleasant environment.

My Father aged 85 came into Wandsworth at the end of November 2024. He has Parkinsons with LBD. He deteriorated quite rapidly but with the extremely kind, caring and professional attention he has come back to his old self if not better. The home has a wonderful friendly atmosphere and lovely space for residents to enjoy. Management are always willing to help out with any issues and requests and have been a huge support to the family as well as Dad.
The outside space is limited but they have a Walking Club on the Common which my Father is now enjoying.
We are so delighted with his care and support.

The staff are truly wonderful.

Cannot praise more highly. My mother-in-law recently turned 100 and with the aid of the proactive and cheerful staff, we celebrated in style. I cannot recommend Avery enough. My 87 year old father stayed for a month's respite care and had a wonderful experience. The home feels like a 5 star hotel and is very clean and luxurious. The staff are incredibly warm, welcoming and kind - 'nothing is too much trouble for them'' as Dad said. Everyone greeted him by name and took the time to chat to him when they passed.

Everyday there is something different and stimulating for the residents to do. As a relative, every visit was a lovely, rewarding experience.

Always a difficult decision to trust your loved one into someone's else's care but Will at Wandsworth Common Care Home helped make this decision easy. My husband needed respite care and we looked at many different care home but immediately on entering WCCH we felt at home. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere like a lovely hotel. The staff were kind and personable immediately and my husband relaxed because it didn't feel like he was a patient but a welcomed guest. During his two week stay he was looked after like royalty, so many different activities socialising with the other residents. Any opportunity for a get together of which there were many. Although initially I felt it hard to relax I was reassured by the immediate response to my emails which enabled me to enjoy my break. I will not pretend it's easy but I know I need to look after my own health and finding care for my husband that I can trust has enabled me to plan ahead for regular breaks for myself. Thank you WCCH c u soon

Avery Wandsworh was a lifesaver. My father was ill and hospitalised while visiting us from abroad and he couldn't fly back. They were extremely helpful and accommodating in a very stressful time for the family. From the nurse visit to do the assessment, to the daily day-to-day activities, they took great care and encouraged my father back to health and for him to be able to fly back. They welcomed my mum and my whole family to the home.

My mother has been at the Avery Wandsworth Common Care Home as a resident since May of this year. The home is beautifully decorated, tasteful and very clean and her spacious apartment far exceeded my expectations. The entire process of moving my mother in and ensuring that she settled quickly was seamless. I have yet to meet a member of staff there who isn't extremely attentive, kind, patient and good-humoured. The lines of communication are always open and I know my mother is in excellent hands. It is a huge relief that we have found somewhere so wonderful for her.

I came to visit an old friend and this was my first visit to the home. As soon as I entered the building, I became aware of a gentle calmness and a welcoming spirit of quiet efficiency. The reception staff could not have been more helpful and kinder. On arrival at the resident's room, all of the care staff on duty that I met over two hours were anxious to ensure that I was comfortable and not upset by how my friend's appearance had changed over the last few months: this is the mark of high-quality care and concern for visitors' well being. That level of care and thoughtfulness is standard. The resident's dignity is a real priority at all times and frequent visits at regular intervals is testament to this. Nothing was hurried and my friend's wellbeing was paramount. I left the home with a lightness of heart and in the certain knowledge that the highest level of care was being taken. Thank you to the whole team.

We attended the funeral reception of a friend at Wandsworth Common Care Home. The manager was such a lovely young man in how he welcomed everyone, poured drinks and ensured we were all okay. Change from a previous provider to Avery, pretty smooth. My brother has been very well cared for. The move from basic care to dementia was very well maintained. The care staff are excellent. I started my journey in to care six years ago when I joined as a care assistant. I loved my role there and put my heart and soul into ensuring the residents were happy and enjoyed the quality of life they deserved. I was then promoted to lead carer with the responsibility of a team of 14 carers, which I continued to do for the next four years.

I would drive past Wandsworth Common every day on my way to work and thought maybe one day I may end up working there as it was closer to home. When they opened I applied as a care supervisor and was overjoyed to get the role as many people had applied. Six months later I was promoted to my current role as residential care manager and I’m loving every minute! I have a fabulous and very experienced care team around me and I also feel very supported from the management team in the home who are always go that extra mile to help and get involved. I am the type of person who will roll up my sleeves and help wherever I’m needed and knowing that all my residents are well looked after gives me a massive sense of satisfaction.

I feel extremely proud and honoured to work in such a beautiful home with a friendly atmosphere and great people.

Out of work I love to spend time with my family and friends. I have three children who have all grown up now and have their own families of which I am very proud. I also have two beautiful granddaughters, one 10 years old and one of 8 months, my family are the most important things in my life. Outside of work I love meeting with friends over a glass or two of bubbly as the perfect way to relax!
