Wandsworth Common Avery have been extremely helpful and considerate in helping during my late father's illness and recent death including organising a reception/wake after the funeral held at the adjacent church of St Mary's. All the team at Avery have been so very attentive and helpful.

Thank you for your kind words. Your father was a lovely man and is missed by us all. It was lovely to get to know you all and we were pleased to be able to host his wake here to celebrate his life.

I chose to stay at the Avery Wandsworth Common Care Home following a complex knee replacement surgery. I needed a week of recovery in safety and comfort to practise my physiotherapy and found exactly that at this care home. The greatest asset of this establishment is the staff. From management all the way to the catering team, they are attentive to your every need. No one crosses you without acknowledging you by your name and looking out for you.
The general standard of comfort is excellent as are the facilities such as the spa bath and even a cinema!
All meals are served in a very comfortable restaurant from an a la carte menu of delicious food cooked in-house.
Whilst it is primarily a care home for an older generation it is an ideal destination for post-operative surgery rest whatever age you are.

Within a short walk of Wandsworth Common and excellent public transport nearby, there is a lovely feeling of freedom both for guests and visitors.

Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to help you recuperate after your surgery, and equally lovely to meet you. I look forward to seeing your skiing photos!

The care home staff organised a birthday celebration for my mother today (25 May), who is 95 years old. The party took place in their private dining room and they took me through first to be sure that I was happy with everything they had done. I walked into the room and I was literally speechless for a moment. It all looked absolutely stunning! It was all so beautiful, it took me a moment to take it all in. There were beautiful platters of food and gorgeous decorations everywhere. I'm not allowed to mention names apparently, but the Chef made a fantastic cake for my mum with her name on it and the Catering Manager did a wonderful job of setting out all the beautiful food and drinks with the help of the Food and Beverage supervisor and some of the team. We were all totally thrilled with the occasion and I can't thank the wonderful staff enough for all they did for us. All the staff are genuinely very kind and caring and work so hard to ensure everybody's happiness and well-being.

Visited my uncle for the first time. Immediately on entry, the facilities were welcoming, clean and spacious. The staff greeted us with a smile and escorted us to the correct room. The room was comfortable with an en-suite and facility to make himself a drink and snack. The room had been made to be homely and had lots of photos and mementos. He seemed very happy and settled. Thank you.

I have been visiting my dear cousins since they moved to the home in December 2022 and I am always so impressed by the staff who are so kind and patient with them. They both have particular needs and are well cared for. I always turn up unannounced and never find anything other than a calm and professional, yet caring home. Thank you for caring for them both so well, it makes this difficult stage a little easier to bear.

I spent 2 1/2 weeks here after being in hospital with pneumonia and a broken pelvis. My rooms were like a suite in a five-star hotel. The food was delicious like a hotel restaurant. I enjoyed physio with the physio who came in twice a week so that when I left I was able to climb stairs easily. There was a resident hairdresser. I was also able to have regular baths in a wonderful bath. Thank you for an excellent stay and transition from hospital to home.

My 77-year-old mother stayed here for 2 weeks of respite care after a fall had left her hospitalised with a fractured pelvis and pneumonia. It was a godsend and the perfect place on her journey from hospital back to home. The entire place is very high quality and in our opinion worth every penny. Honestly can’t think of a bad thing to say!

Both my aunt and uncle are residents here and recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. They were so pleased to be able to enjoy the day with a few close family and friends in the lovely setting of the sky Lounge which the home had decorated and provided a wonderful selection of food including a very delicious cake. It was lovely to be able to see them enjoying this special milestone together in such a nice place.

My mum spent two and a half weeks in Wandsworth Avery for respite care after a fall and a spell in hospital. The team at Wandsworth were amazing (both very helpful and extremely competent), the environment was lovely and the food was excellent. This has completely changed my perception of care homes. It felt more like mum was staying at a luxury hotel than in a care home. She had her own suite with bedroom, living room, kitchenette and bathroom. And the facilities were incredible from the quality of the restaurant and cafe to the in house cinema!

I would thoroughly recommend Wandsworth Avery to anyone looking for a care home; I’ve never seen anything quite like it.

I am excited to join the exceptional and experienced team at Wandsworth Common Care Home and will bring my industry knowledge to support their outstanding levels of care, and personal touch and work with their teams striving for continued excellence.

I am a Registered Nurse with 16 years of experience in frontline healthcare and, having worked in a broad range of settings I have developed a passion for exceptional service in the care industry.

I started my career in A+E having previously worked as a multi-site quality assurance Matron at Bart’s Trust and as Site General Manager at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital. More recently I have managed many nursing and specialist dementia care homes.

I look forward to meeting everyone who comes through our doors.

Having worked for eleven years in similar roles for other luxury care providers, I am thrilled to represent Avery Collection at Wandsworth Common as a Customer Liaison Manager. I have a track record of success, having taken a challenged home to its highest-ever occupancy in a previous role. As a Dementia Champion, I am also committed to helping those living with memory loss, having previously helped set up a regional Dementia Action Alliance with a local church.

Avery Collection are known as the best in terms of quality of care and quality of design, and in these areas as well as many others they are always one step ahead of other care providers. This ethos is one I share, and I am delighted to be working for the best provider in the business.

In my role, I am the first point of contact for families seeking care. I am dedicated to using my knowledge and experience to act as a guide and to help families through what can be a difficult time of life.

Avery Collection at Wandsworth Common is a truly special home, as this level of care is not usually available in such a central, accessible location. Residents will have a great range of facilities and attractions available right on their doorstep. I’m also excited to be part of such a technologically advanced, stylishly designed and luxurious home.

I started my journey in to care six years ago when I joined as a care assistant. I loved my role there and put my heart and soul into ensuring the residents were happy and enjoyed the quality of life they deserved. I was then promoted to lead carer with the responsibility of a team of 14 carers, which I continued to do for the next four years.

I would drive past Wandsworth Common every day on my way to work and thought maybe one day I may end up working there as it was closer to home. When they opened I applied as a care supervisor and was overjoyed to get the role as many people had applied. Six months later I was promoted to my current role as residential care manager and I’m loving every minute! I have a fabulous and very experienced care team around me and I also feel very supported from the management team in the home who are always go that extra mile to help and get involved. I am the type of person who will roll up my sleeves and help wherever I’m needed and knowing that all my residents are well looked after gives me a massive sense of satisfaction.

I feel extremely proud and honoured to work in such a beautiful home with a friendly atmosphere and great people.

Out of work I love to spend time with my family and friends. I have three children who have all grown up now and have their own families of which I am very proud. I also have two beautiful granddaughters, one 10 years old and one of 8 months, my family are the most important things in my life. Outside of work I love meeting with friends over a glass or two of bubbly as the perfect way to relax!

Caring has always been a big part of my life, growing up I was the main carer for a member of my family which ignited my passion for the caring profession. This lead to me study nursing at university in Romania in 2009. After gaining my qualification and practicing in Romania for a few years I moved to England in 2015. I moved initially to Derbyshire where I worked as a carer for two years. After this I was promoted to the nurse’s assistant and subsequently lead all the training for dementia carers for that business. I am extremely passionate about giving residents the best care and most fulfilling lives. In my role as dementia care manager I am committed to continuous learning and also supporting my staff to be the very best they can be.

What I love most about my role is seeing how we are able to have such a positive impact on our residents’ day to day lives and seeing the smiles on their faces is the best feeling. Avery Collection is a fantastic company to work for and I feel very supported in my role and with any ideas I have to support our residents.

Outside of work I have a passion for sport with my biggest achievement is being Romania’s National Backstroke champion in the 100m.

I have worked in Housekeeping for over 10 years in private houses and nurseries. My whole life I have been looking after people from my mother to my own family. I really feel it is at the core of what I love to do and why I am so pleased to be working in the care industry. It’s a joy to come to work every day in such a family orientated home – my second family! There is always something different happening on a daily basis in the home. As housekeeping supervisor it gives me great pleasure to see how happy the extra little things we do makes the residents day and getting positive feedback about how the work my team does helps our residents daily lives.

When I’m not at work I enjoy spending time with and looking after Grandchildren, reading books, walking around London and fresh coffee!
