Mercia Grange in Sutton Coldfield provides a full range of round-the-clock care for older people. The dedicated team offers residential, nursing and dementia care on a short-term or permanent basis.

other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I have been at Mercia Grange nearly 12 months. I am very happy here and if I have any issues they are dealt with quickly.
I enjoy the activities, there is always a good selection of things to do. The carers are lovely and work very hard and always make sure you have what you need.

I can’t thank Mercia Grange enough for the excellent care and support they have provided for my Dad during the last few months of his life. It was a very difficult decision to place my Dad into full-time care, but he could not have been in better hands. During his final days, I stayed all day and night
by his bedside and witnessed firsthand the total dedication of each and every team member. From the domestic and kitchen staff to the carers, nurses, reception, admin and management team, each and every one of them was truly magnificent. I really felt that each resident was treated with kindness, empathy and respect. I too was very well supported, at my lowest times, there was always someone willing to listen and a shoulder to cry on. Thank you to the manager and her team for looking after my dad so well.

My mother has now been a resident in Mercia Grange for ten months and we are all - family and friends - delighted with how settled and well cared for she is. Her room is spacious with a wonderful view to the garden and the staff are extremely kind and friendly - not only to the residents but also to
her visitors!
There is a very caring and homely atmosphere at Mercia Grange, which is important and reassuring to us. We are impressed with the range of activities and entertainments laid on for the residents and the enthusiasm which the staff show in always coming up with something new.

I have been delighted with the care my mother has received in Mercia Grange since last December. She is warm, well fed, comfortable & has made a number of new friends. She regularly takes part in many of the activities organised by the home. She particularly enjoys the visiting animals & musical
entertainment.
She is generally a much happier, healthier lady since she moved to Mercia Grange. I really appreciate all the care she receives there.

Since we have been coming here to visit our relative we have been treated really well and made to feel really welcome. All of the residents look well and looked after and seem really happy. The staff here are amazing and really friendly and happy whenever we visit. I have two young children and they
are always greeted with a smile and the staff go above and beyond, finding toys or welcoming them. It is always spotless and clean and the food looks amazing.

Grandad moved into Mercia Grange in Jan 2021. Due to Covid restrictions, it was not possible to view care homes at the time, however, we were greatly reassured by reviews of Mercia Grange. The communication and support received from Mercia Grange, throughout the process instilled us with every confidence
we had made the right choice.
The team at Mercia ensured Grandad's move went smoothly. He was made to feel very welcome and part of the Mercia family from day one. It greatly put our minds at rest to know that Grandad was being well cared for.
Grandad is now very settled, and Mercia Grange has exceeded our expectations. The level of care is second to none and he has built up an excellent rapport with staff, who treat him with kindness, dignity and respect. As regular visitors to Grandad now, we are always impressed with the excellent facilities and extremely high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
We would not hesitate to recommend Mercia Grange.

I love being part of Care UK as they value people and have a total focus on delivering outstanding-quality care.


Mercia Grange is a stunning care home with a great team.


I joined Care UK after working as an interim manager at a not-for-profit organisation. I received a post-graduate degree in Business Management from Leeds University Business School and a Certificate in Management from Leicester University.


As a Home Manager, you must be totally focused on providing a quality living experience for the residents who we are entrusted to care for. You need to be positive and value the team that delivers care in the home, as well as ensuring any concerns of residents and their families are addressed immediately.


My favourite part of the day is being on the floor with residents and team members when they are enjoying their time together. It’s wonderful to have laughter and smiling faces in the home. The most important part of my role is ensuring all aspects of residents’ daily living experiences are centred around their wishes.


Outside of work, family is my number one priority. As I live in a livery yard, horses are a big part of my interests outside of work. I do the maintenance and leave the horse riding to my wife and daughters. I’m also an animal lover: we have dogs, a cat, five ducks and chickens.
