Mercia Grange in Sutton Coldfield provides a full range of round-the-clock care for older people. The dedicated team offers residential, nursing and dementia care on a short-term or permanent basis.

an agreed hourly charge for this service.

From the first contact, I found that Mercia Grange was extremely professional and helpful. They explained about the covid protocols and what services and care they would offer my Dad.
When he entered, he was missing the reclining chair he had at home. The staff immediately located and placed a recliner
in his room to make him more comfortable.
Even after his discharge, one lady made several calls to me to check how he was doing. This was much appreciated by me, and not something I expected or they were obliged to do.

This is a very friendly and clean home. The staff is fantastic. Very kind to residents and family. The cleanliness is excellent. The food is very good too. The activities provided are so varied and lots of fun for those that attend. I feel very confident that my Father in Law is getting the best care

The quality of care is exceptional at Mercia. I cannot praise the staff highly enough from the cleaners, carers, office staff and management. I know my aunt is not always an easy person to deal with, but the staff soon have her laughing again and joining in with activities. Mercia does not only care
for my aunt; they offer a great deal of help and advice to the family. Staff always treat my aunt with affection and dignity.

I cannot recommend Mercia Grange enough. It was the hardest decision to move Mum into a home, but all of the staff made it so much easier. Right from the beginning when I looked around, and then the day we moved, Mum in.
The staff are all wonderful and are lovely to Mum and visitors. Nothing is too
much trouble, and you can see they care and are happy.
Mum is settling in now and is happy. The design and layout of the room and suite she is in helps massively. It's a massive peace of mind knowing she is safe and being well looked after and I can enjoy being a daughter again when I visit mum.

This was my first visit to Mercia Grange. This year I have visited a cousin in two other care homes in Lincolnshire and North Yorkshire and all three were of a similarly high standard. What impressed me most was the acknowledgement by all staff of the resident's husband and ourselves as visitors and
secondly, the acknowledgement, care and friendliness to the resident by all staff. The tea, coffee and drinks facility was superior to the other two homes that I visited.

I never knew such peace of mind could exist when looking for a nursing home for my dad. His care has been exemplary, from the moment he arrived the staff couldn’t do enough to make him and us, his family feel at home. Since arriving a couple of months ago he has thrived and his health and well-being
have improved beyond all expectations. I cannot praise the staff enough, nothing is too much trouble and the second my dad asks for something it is there. Staff knock his door before entering his room and he is treated with such dignity and respect. The facilities are amazing, the place is more like a 5-star hotel than a care home. If you are looking for a fabulous residential/care/nursing home look no further as you will not find better.

I can’t praise Mercia Grange highly enough. The change in my father since taking up residence some months ago has been marked. The warm, attentive and extremely professional staff at Mercia have provided him with an environment where he feels safe, valued and able to be himself and for this we are eternally
grateful.
As a son or daughter choosing your parents care or residential home is one of your greatest responsibilities. Trust me when I say that Mercia makes this decision a very easy one to make indeed; a decision that we have not regretted in any way at all.

The staff are usually friendly and the facilities are clean. Grandma seems to be pleased with the activities provided and the day trips. It's a shame that the residents can only eat in dining rooms on the same floor as their room but I understand that there must be policies in place that do not allow
this. The coffee shop downstairs is a pleasant place to meet up with Grandma.

My mum is looked after very well by the carers on the Wilson floor. She is safe, well dressed, clean and is eating well. Two particular members of staff are good at coming to look after Mum when I leave. I really enjoy volunteering every Wednesday.

I love being part of Care UK as they value people and have a total focus on delivering outstanding-quality care.


Mercia Grange is a stunning care home with a great team.


I joined Care UK after working as an interim manager at a not-for-profit organisation. I received a post-graduate degree in Business Management from Leeds University Business School and a Certificate in Management from Leicester University.


As a Home Manager, you must be totally focused on providing a quality living experience for the residents who we are entrusted to care for. You need to be positive and value the team that delivers care in the home, as well as ensuring any concerns of residents and their families are addressed immediately.


My favourite part of the day is being on the floor with residents and team members when they are enjoying their time together. It’s wonderful to have laughter and smiling faces in the home. The most important part of my role is ensuring all aspects of residents’ daily living experiences are centred around their wishes.


Outside of work, family is my number one priority. As I live in a livery yard, horses are a big part of my interests outside of work. I do the maintenance and leave the horse riding to my wife and daughters. I’m also an animal lover: we have dogs, a cat, five ducks and chickens.
