I have been a nurse for over 35 years and I have never been in a care home that I would be happy to go in myself. The staff are amazing, they make all the residents and their family feel like its their home. They treat everyone with the upmost respect and dignity and go the extra mile to make things as comfortable as they can. Their end of life care is exemplary and the best I have ever come across in a care home.

Making the decision to admit Mom into a care home wasn't very easy on my dad and I ...but... The welcome Mom and we received was beautiful from all of the staff and the residents. It took away all of the anxiety & worry & Mom settled in straight away.

She loves the home & loves her room. She has been out in the gardens & courtyard as well as in the communal areas & feels so at home. Cannot thank you all enough for giving Mom another 'home' to enjoy for the next years of her life. It means so much to us.

Mom was a resident. You hear such bad things about care names in the press but I can honestly say they care my mom had was excellent. The staff were caring also the nurses. Always a smile as I entered in home. My mom was comfortable with the staff and made her life caring and compassionate. Excellent service even aftercare when my mom passed.

Chelmunds Court is a lovely care home. My mother moved in February 2024 and settled very quickly. Staff are always friendly, helpful, and attentive. The building is clean and welcoming. There are very regular activities both within and outside the home. Mum is very happy there. Thanks to all the staff who make it what it is.

Mom was admitted to Chalmunds Court in March 2023. Since her admission mom and her family have received excellent care. Mom loved the nurses, carers, cleaning staff and kitchen, they all treated mom with thoughtfulness and dignity. Unfortunately, mom became ill and the last weeks of her life was difficult. I cannot praise the staff enough for the extra care mom was shown together with her family. I cannot recommend Chelmunds Court enough, they are all excellent. The rooms are clean and pleasantly decorated. Some excellent activities provided.

Dad has been at Chelmunds for 12 months now. He is happy and relaxed in his new home. The personal care he has received has been good and changed with his needs. He enjoys the food. The activities put on by the well-being team are excellent. It has been good to join in with some of the activities both at the home and on trips out. Staff are approachable and understanding and keep us well informed.

Thank you all.

The nursing and domestic staff looked after my father-in-law with compassion and professionalism. We never worried about him as we knew he was being looked after so well. They kept me fully informed of any changes in his condition. The home itself is beautiful and kept spotless. The food was nutritious and appetising. Our family can't thank you enough for all the wonderful care you gave him and our family.

Sadly, my father-in-law passed away Friday 7th July. What excellent end-of-life care they gave to him. All staff were amazing. Food and drink were provided all day. His beloved wife passed in March in the same home. As a family, we would like to thank each and every one of the staff. We will miss visiting the home.

Review from Debra S (Granddaughter of Resident) published on 4 July 2023 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My grandmother has spent the last two years here and has recently passed away. My gran's care has been gold star standard from day one. Nothing has been too much for the staff. In the final week of my gran's life, the staff's attentiveness to both her and the family members that wished to be by her side was amazing and made a very emotional time that little bit easier. The best decision we made as a family was to trust Chelmunds Court Care Home to care for my grandmother in her final years.
