Chelmunds Court

My grandmother has spent the last two years here and has recently passed away. My gran's care has been gold star standard from day one. Nothing has been too much for the staff. In the final week of my gran's life, the staff's attentiveness to both her and the family members that wished to be by her side was amazing and made a very emotional time that little bit easier. The best decision we made as a family was to trust Chelmunds Court Care Home to care for my grandmother in her final years.

Mom came into Chelmunds Court Care Home initially on a short respite case which has been extended. The home is an excellent facility with extremely friendly and professional staff making our Mom feel very much at home.

On arrival, Mom was frail, physically and mentally, exhausted, in decline, recently blind and 98. When we visit her now, she is bright, relaxed, mobile with assistance, cheeky and demanding. The staff's care has improved every facet of her well-being exponentially. The family are more relaxed because she is cared for and safe. We are no longer apprehensive before visiting. Staff have been responsive to both Mom's needs and our concerns, too many examples for us to list. The other services that are on offer have been very beneficial. The interaction with the staff is based on them having a very personal relationship with Mom. It is apparent this level of care is given to all residents. The staff go above and beyond.

My husband has been in Chelmunds Court Care Home since June 2022. He has been cared for extremely well. The staff are always helpful and his room and clothes are spotlessly clean. The domestic staff must be congratulated on their care of the rooms. My husband has nothing but praise for the "girls" who care for him.

Regarding funding, cost seems disproportionate.

I am extremely satisfied with Chelmunds Court Care Home. I can not fault the care and assistance my mum gets. She is well looked after, clean and tidy. I cannot ask for more.

Mom always appears clean and, from what I have seen of the meals, well-fed. She has started to make use of the things available, i.e. chiropodist and hairdresser, and when anything is wrong with her or she needs toiletries I am kept well informed.

Very welcoming and caring staff. Always willing to help. Rooms are overall clean but, as with dementia, lots of things are mislaid or go missing. Sometimes there is some confusion with handover as the next carer is not always aware of discussions when asked. Overall though, I am happy for my father to be here and, most of all, he seems happy too.

My sister only recently moved to this home. The room is spacious and clean, she has her own washing facilities and adequate furnishing. She seemed content. The ground floor allows for access to the quad and a door leading out to it makes an ideal place to sit with visitors.

Our relative is extremely well cared for and safe. The staff are lovely.

My mom is extremely happy at Chelmunds Court. The staff are always friendly and attentive to Mom. They make it a home for Mom!

Wonderfully run care home with great staff who truly care for the residents they look after.

Mom has been here for just over a year. The care and attention she has received have been excellent. Communication with the team is extremely good. I really cannot complain about any aspect of Mom's care.

My wife was admitted in June 2019 snd we were given a lovely, friendly welcome, something that has continued ever since for her and me. All of the staff work well as a team and have time for residents. All residents are well cared for. Any concerns are promptly dealt with. The standards of care and the building are excellent, I have full confidence that my wife is in good, caring hands. Thank you.

My partner is well looked after at Chelmunds Court Care Home. She is always nice and clean, always clean clothes. She is eating and drinking well. I would not like her to be moved elsewhere.

Despite these difficult times, the care my mother receives has always been amazing. I feel this when I visit my mum, and they treat me with the same care.

A dreadful place with their own staff raising allegations of neglect and harm towards my mother, an ex-resident. I witnessed their neglect myself and numerous complaints have been made by social care, the home staff, and me. Rude incompetent staff, poor communication, inadequate phone call response lack of understanding of medical conditions, and mistakes made with regards to meds. So glad we’re no longer there and have found a truly caring home where patients’ full needs are addressed and real care is shown.

The continuous care and support that Chelmunds Court Care Home offers to us as a family is priceless. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and always there with help when needed.

It was very straightforward to arrange a visit to my mother with my brother and nephew. We were very pleased that my mother is obviously very well looked after and cared for. All the staff are extremely helpful and cater fully for the resident’s needs, going that extra mile in ensuring the residents are happy and well looked after.
