Mum only lived at The Spires for a few months until her recent passing but in that time she was looked after so well, we could not fault her care. Staff went above and beyond their duties to keep her happy, safe and as comfortable as possible. For that, we will be eternally grateful.

We'd like to express our sincere thanks to all the team at The Spires for their care of Mum over her time there. It began during Covid so there were all kinds of restrictions in place, but you enabled us to have good regular contact with her, and in the time since then you could not have been more helpful in the way you looked after her and always made the family feel welcome too. Mum was really contented at The Spires and often told me how pleased she was to be there. The friendliness and cheerfulness of the staff were always obvious and everyone seemed willing to go out of their way to help as much as possible. As the end of Mum's life approached, we were impressed with the care and sensitivity of everyone, and we're so grateful for all the ways in which you made Mum's passing so peaceful and stress-free, both for her and for the family.

Mum has spent the last four years of her life at The Spires in Lichfield. Words can not adequately express our thanks and admiration for the staff. They have provided Mum with a safe and caring environment, which became home to her. Nothing was too much trouble for the brilliant staff, who became like family to her. Regular visits were always such a pleasure for the family We were made so welcome and witnessing the dedicated work of all the staff gave us peace of mind that Mum could not have been better cared for. Thank you so much.

There are so many staff at The Spires who have been so wonderful in caring for my dad that it would feel disloyal to mention any specific individuals. As a team, they are quite simply magnificent. My family and I can only praise them for the way in which Dad, and all of us, were treated with care, respect and dignity at all times. There is a real sense of community at the Spires and so many inclusive activities for all residents. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Dad's personal care was excellent and all his medication was administered correctly. We would 100% recommend the Spires to anyone looking for a care home and will be forever grateful that Dad was able to spend his final days in such a wonderful environment.

Made welcome from first entering the care home and all paperwork is completed very efficiently by all members of staff for me to volunteer.
Staff members spoke very respectfully and kindly to all residents, extremely clean and I felt a general feeling of well-being.
All members of staff were very well trained and helpful.

Very well-run care home and a sense of community, for all the residents that I met, nice to see so many activities for those who want to join in but residents' health and well are a very important part of daily life.

My mother came to The Spires very reluctantly, after a couple of falls. Staff have been patient, unfailingly kind, observant and won her over! She has made new friends, been able to get back to hobbies, like singing, and is thriving. I have found communication very good. My family and I feel like part of the community. This is what care in old age can and should be like.

Could not thank everyone enough for all they have done for my nan over the last few weeks, she came for respite and hasn’t left since! The care she receives from each individual care worker/catering team/general manager is amazing and they always fulfil her needs. Nan has improved in ways I didn’t think possible since being at The Spires and for the first time in many years I have the nan I grew up knowing back due to everyone who takes care of her! The team are so friendly and welcoming I couldn’t think of a better place for her to stay! Thank you again!

My father is safe and well looked after. It would be great if there were activities for men as the activities on offer seem to be focused on the female residents.

As his capacity deteriorates, I'd like to know what happens when he needs extra help with personal hygiene, and dressing, etc.

Mum was a resident at Barchester The Spires Care Home from March 2023 - September 2023.
From the moment she arrived everyone at the home made her feel welcome. Facilities at the home are great, particularly the Lounge/Cafe area where you can get drinks and cakes when you visit.
As Mum was declining the staff were brilliant with their learned advice and care.

I would definitely recommend this care home to anyone looking for a care home.

Wonderful caring, friendly staff. My mother stayed a week here for respite care. She was encouraged to take part in the great stimulating activities available to residents. The food was very good.
The home is extremely clean and the decor is more like a boutique hotel. The manager is also always available if you need to speak to her.

A faultless home for respite care.

My Mother had a lovely, spacious room upstairs which overlooked the well-kept garden. The staff are caring and encouraging creating a calm, friendly environment.
The quality of the food was very good and freshly baked goodies were available every day for both residents and guests.

I would highly recommend The Spires to anyone looking for care for a loved one.

I found my experience of staying in The Spires Care Home very enjoyable. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful, the impression I was given was that nothing was too much trouble. The only concern I have is there does not seem to be medical help available for some health problems, not major health problems but little ones. Altogether the experience of living in the care home was very good.

I am writing on behalf of my mother. She never wanted to be in a care home and initially it was for respite care. A year on, and she is happy, looks well, feels safe and enjoys her time in The Spires. She feels the staff work very hard and are very supportive. So thank you for making a very difficult decision and time easy and absolutely the right decision.
