The Spire Care Home in Lichfield, Staffordshire and has been specifically designed to provide high-quality residential care to the elderly, including those individuals living with dementia including Alzheimer's disease.

This 70 bed home is close to Lichfield City, which hosts many community events and festivals throughout the year. The home provides residential care in a warm, homely and friendly environment. The team of qualified and dedicated staff focus on the individual needs of residents and are committed to providing professional and respectful care with the resident at the heart of everything they do.

The home has a dedicated area called Memory Lane Community which provides high-quality care for people with dementia.

Very dissappointed in 'service' provided. On each visit guest sitting at exit in reception awaiting me and distressed. Each phone call told he was sitting in reception 'helping'. Very little to occupy male guests. Visited to local hostelry arranged for Fathers day - requested joining this on day admitted,
further 4 requests including deputy manager (who did assessment) no-one contacted me to arrange or deny! On day I visited to pack, guest left behind staff member suggested 'he might run off'. Who decided that? Shouldn't I be contacted. All garden furniture very dirty asked it be cleaned 6 days later still dirty - soil, bird droppings, cobwebs. Home locked Sunday unable to access until staff member arrived. No feedback from home on respite by phone or post. Very poor total lack of service!

My Dad and his partner spent a week in respite care at The Spires. The room, facilities, food and staff were all A1. The anticipated respite was achieved and my Dad in particular had a fabulous time enjoying the activities and meeting new people.

The staff on the reception desk are always so friendly, helpful and caring. We have been so pleased with the responsiveness of the nursing staff who have guided us through everything so kindly. The home is spotless, we always comment on how clean Mum's room is and how lovely and tidy the whole home
is. Mum has only lived there for five months but says she loves it and doesn't have to worry about anything!

This is the fourth time my mother has stayed here for respite care. She has dementia (nine years) but it always happy to spend her time here. The food always looks so appetising, the surroundings so comfortable and accessing the outdoor balcony area is a treat for her. It looks and feels like a five-star
hotel with every detail taken care of. The last couple of times when it has been time to go home, she has cried as she has enjoyed it so much. We're always confident that she's comfortable and well cared for during her stays at Barchester The Spires Care Home.

I enjoyed y respite week very much. The room ad its bathroom were lovely. All the staff were very kind and considerate. Drinks were always available and there were choices for meals. The food and drinks were excellent. I took part in two sessions of exercise which were good, also watched the streamed
Sunday service from the cathedral. I watched the Olympics on TV and listened to the radio, also did my own hobby of painting. My husband felt welcome when he came to visit me. The garden is kept very well, I wish it was more used by residents. My husband was very pleased with the care I received, at the end of the week, he knew I had benefitted from my stay.
Although I had said that I did not have sugar, no response! No puddings at first.

Great environment for those needing very minimal care. Most carers are lovely. Management very poor and lacking in compassion and overall ethos seems to be more about what they can't do than what they can do. Repeatedly told 'we're not a nursing home, we can't do that' and felt like there was a disclaimer
on everything. Dad was only there for 6 weeks and had multiple falls. Injuries were not well cared for and some were ignored and not recorded. Several minor medical matters (which they could not treat) not escalated. When we chased we were promptly told they couldn't meet his needs so he had to move. This was only 5 weeks since their assessment. No discussion or warning. He had been accepted as a permanent resident and we were due to sign the contract in a few days time. Their 'requires improvement' CQC status is in part due to leadership and I agree. With hindsight, Dad should not have been accepted, they could not offer the required level of care, maybe a case of £££££ over care!

We'd like to express our sincere thanks to all the team at The Spires for their care of Mum over her time there. It began during Covid so there were all kinds of restrictions in place, but you enabled us to have good regular contact with her, and in the time since then you could not have been more helpful
in the way you looked after her and always made the family feel welcome too. Mum was really contented at The Spires and often told me how pleased she was to be there. The friendliness and cheerfulness of the staff were always obvious and everyone seemed willing to go out of their way to help as much as possible. As the end of Mum's life approached, we were impressed with the care and sensitivity of everyone, and we're so grateful for all the ways in which you made Mum's passing so peaceful and stress-free, both for her and for the family.

There are so many staff at The Spires who have been so wonderful in caring for my dad that it would feel disloyal to mention any specific individuals. As a team, they are quite simply magnificent. My family and I can only praise them for the way in which Dad, and all of us, were treated with care, respect
and dignity at all times. There is a real sense of community at the Spires and so many inclusive activities for all residents. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Dad's personal care was excellent and all his medication was administered correctly. We would 100% recommend the Spires to anyone looking for a care home and will be forever grateful that Dad was able to spend his final days in such a wonderful environment.

Made welcome from first entering the care home and all paperwork is completed very efficiently by all members of staff for me to volunteer.
Staff members spoke very respectfully and kindly to all residents, extremely clean and I felt a general feeling of well-being.
All members of staff were very
well trained and helpful.
Very well-run care home and a sense of community, for all the residents that I met, nice to see so many activities for those who want to join in but residents' health and well are a very important part of daily life.

My mother came to The Spires very reluctantly, after a couple of falls. Staff have been patient, unfailingly kind, observant and won her over! She has made new friends, been able to get back to hobbies, like singing, and is thriving. I have found communication very good. My family and I feel like part

Could not thank everyone enough for all they have done for my nan over the last few weeks, she came for respite and hasn’t left since! The care she receives from each individual care worker/catering team/general manager is amazing and they always fulfil her needs. Nan has improved in ways I didn’t think
possible since being at The Spires and for the first time in many years I have the nan I grew up knowing back due to everyone who takes care of her! The team are so friendly and welcoming I couldn’t think of a better place for her to stay! Thank you again!

I have worked in the care sector since I was 18, initially with young adults with learning disabilities, before specialising in elderly care.


I am passionate about improving the lives of our residents and making sure they live life to the fullest.

Hello, I'm Lisa, the Deputy Manager at The Spires. I bring over 35 years care experience as well as bags of mischief!


I joined Barchester in May 23 as a Peripatetic Senior Carer supporting multiple homes across the Midlands region, and then in September 23 was thrilled to be appointed as Deputy Manager at The Spires.


I have worked in care since the age of 17, fulfilling my passion for caring for others, understanding their needs and providing first class care. I am L5 qualified in Healthcare Leadership & Management and I love nothing more than a good challenge.


I am definitely a people person and you'll see me bobbing around the home with a smile on my face.

I started working at The Spires in 2022 and I absolutely love spending time with our residents putting our menus together, it is such a privilege to speak with our residents about their favourites and then recreate them! Individual nutrition and dietary needs are very important to me and my team, we take great pride in knowing the food we serve helps to improve residents' well-being here at the home. I also love catering for parties and special occasions.

Hi, my name is Angie and I am an activities coordinator here at The Spires. We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends

Hello, I'm Suzanne one of the Hairdressers at The Spires.


I have over 25 years hairdressing experience and I visit the home once a week to work my magic. Whether it's a perm, a colour or a simple trim, Residents can join me for a pamper and a friendly chat in the salon.


I am so lucky to do what I do, it is a real pleasure to work at the home and to build relationships with the Residents - we have fantastic conversations during their time in the salon and its nice to see them leave with a smile.
