Hesketh Park Lodge understands the importance of a well-balanced and nutritious diet and therefore, a carefully selected team produces home-cooked meals onsite daily. Crafted with care and attention, the menu incorporates resident’s preferences and cultural or dietary requirements. Friends or family can join residents at mealtimes if there have been prior arrangements.

My brother-in-law was admitted to Hesketh Park Lodge approximately 6 months ago. He was discharged from hospital and was quite poorly, loss of appetite and low weight, but thanks to the perseverance of all the staff and support workers he has improved greatly. The building and rooms and facilities are

Generally very happy with the care my Mother is receiving, the staff are caring and considerate. My Mother has a problem with her left hand, her fingers are bent over. Her hand needs to be kept clean and dry every day to prevent infection, this has not been noticed until I found it during my visit.
A visit from a dentist would be very useful! A proper manicure where the nails are cleaned would be great along with the pedicure she receives Wednesday. Hairdresser is fantastic! Everyone looks fab!

My brother has improved tremendously whilst there. His mobility has improved and he has gained weight. The atmosphere is always pleasant and happy. The home is decorated to suit the seasons (Valentine's Day, Easter, etc.). The residents are encouraged to take part in activities that are tailored to
their abilities. The staff are friendly and encouraging to residents and visitors alike. A happy, caring home.

My sister and I had struggled to find a suitable nursing home for our dad to spend a couple of weeks respite in. As soon as we entered Hesketh Park Lodge we were very impressed. The cleanliness, friendliness and care were apparent. Dad had an enjoyable 2 weeks which we extended to 4 weeks. He was well-fed,
kept exceptionally clean, entertained and treated with great respect.
Thanks to everyone at Hesketh Park Lodge we would not hesitate to give Dad respite there again.

The staff at Hesketh Park Lodge were excellent in delivering outstanding care to my mother.
From 19th January 2024 to 18th March, nothing was too much trouble, they went to every length and even looked after myself. Their care was given with great dignity to patients such as my mum who was on end-of-life.
It was like a 5-star hotel.

After reviewing several nursing homes in the Southport area for my father (93) we felt Hesketh Park Lodge was by far the best (especially in relation to facilities and access and CQC ratings for care). After meeting staff and touring the facility we made our choice. My father was admitted for nursing
care after leaving hospital and we were allowed to personalise the room prior to his arrival. When he arrived he was smiling and said how nice it was. We can but say how humbled and impressed we were. Every single staff member should be commended for the love and care my father received. The professional approach to looking after him 24/7 prior to his late passing was truly inspiring. I say this as we sat with my father for his final 7 days and nothing was too much trouble, his care was in my view first class. As he passed he and we were treated with great dignity and the compassion shown by all staff continued. We can but highly recommend using Hesketh Park Lodge.

My mum lived in Hesketh Park Lodge between November 23 and February 2024. The rooms were large with ensuite bathroom, the furniture and furnishings were quality, giving the impression that it was a nice hotel rather than a nursing home. The nursing staff were caring, showed empathy and approachable.
All the care assistants were really nice and attentive. The entertainment team were full of enthusiasm and provide a wide variety of entertainment. They even organised an 80th birthday for Mum. Food excellent, communal lounge beautiful and relaxing. No regrets whatsoever in putting Mum in the home.

Mum was nervous about leaving her home to move to a home to give her support but the staff here have been terrific! They encourage and 'jolly' Mum into taking an 'active' part, but never overplay it, so that she knows that she has the final say - perfect for 'Mrs Independent!'

It was my first visit to Hesketh Park Lodge to visit my sister. I arrived approximately at 10.45 am. It was a very good visit. A warm welcome from the staff (reception) and the nursing staff who responded to my sister's request to have use of a quiet area - dining area. The staff provided this, and
she had two visitors - myself and her elderly cousin. Our visit lasted a little over 90 minutes. The staff provided a good service to all residents as well as provided us with tea and coffee.

My mother was at Hesketh Park Lodge for end-of-life care and we could not have wished for more during such a difficult time for us all. The staff were so caring and thoughtful, not only towards my mother but also towards my father and me, meaning we could just be together peacefully and comfortably.
While we were there it was clear that the home was impeccably organised with great spaces and services adapted to the different needs of different residents, it felt like a family home or hotel, and there is no doubt this is where I would turn if we need care home services in the future.

My mother stayed at the Hesketh Park Lodge for two weeks, and during this time, she was well looked after and had her needs catered for. The staff are very friendly and seem well trained in their tasks. I certainly would consider using their services again next time my mother is requiring respite.

I have nothing but praise for the nurses, carers, activities lady and chefs who provide an excellent service in a very busy environment. Gold five stars for everyone, including the maintenance man who repaired the television when it stopped operating.

In general, the home is friendly, welcoming clean and a happy place for my mum to live. The staff are friendly happy and always there to help no matter how small or large the issue may be. Dementia is a horrible illness which affects everyone and it’s never easy to leave your mum behind. But it helps
to know she is well looked after.

My brother spent four weeks in Hesketh Park Lodge, he seemed very settled but when he visited another care home he wanted to move there. I can honestly say that he was very well looked after but are very understaffed.

I was a resident at Hesketh Park Lodge, I came from a spinal unit in hospital. When I arrived at the home I was left in reception for over 2 hours, the maintenance man was the only help I had to move my belongings. The first contact I had was with a carer after 7 hours, she didn't introduce herself
and was speaking in her language on the phone which made me uncomfortable. They neglected me all this time, not offering any food or drink. Finally receiving a cold slice of toast and warm tea 9 hours late. The biggest issue I had with this home was medication errors, not receiving the correct medication at the right time, this caused me to fall out of my wheelchair 3 times as well as falling out of my bed. I was unable to get a shower for 5 weeks because there were no shower chairs. I raised all these issues with the manager, she showed no empathy. On December 20th I moved out and moved into another home where I feel much more happier. I would not recommend Hesketh Park Lodge.

My wife went into Hesketh Park Lodge at the beginning of September and thanks to the staff and the overall environment she has settled well. She has dementia and despite her condition, she is able to relate and communicate to both staff and residents. She has always been a caring and thoughtful person
towards others and this has helped both herself and the residents as well as staff.
Over the five weeks, I have noticed the varied stages the residents are in and am impressed that this has been acknowledged and a proposal is hopefully being implemented. My only negative observation is despite clothes being identified they seem to get mislaid. Also my wife wears glasses all the time and they get mislaid, she has worn several other pairs from other residents.

My mum is 96 and has dementia, she has been staying on Ash unit for a week’s respite and has been extremely well looked after.
The staff are truly caring and have been so kind towards my mum and also towards myself and my family in helping us organise everything.

Job Title: Lodge Service Advisor Joined: 2021

Having worked in the care sector now for more than 15 years in various roles, the most fulfilling role has to be working with prospective residents, their family or their representatives. I find it most rewarding in helping to find the most suitable care home that will endeavour to meet the care needs of each new resident, along with show casing and promoting the many superb facilities each individual care home has to offer.


My main duty is just by being there every step of the way, helping to support families to take away some of the stress of trying to find the right care home for their loved one.


In my spare time I love nothing more than walking my cockapoo, travelling to different counties within the UK and visiting different countries to sample the different restaurants, sightseeing and experiencing different cultures, but most importantly spending quality time with family and friends.
