Overall Experience

Before mum moving into Grosvenor Manor we had looked at lots of care homes. From the minute we walked into Grosvenor Manor the atmosphere was extremely apparent. Everyone smiled and said hello, staff stopped what they were doing to introduce themselves and tell us what their role was. The feel was welcoming and relaxed with staff and residents alike smiling and looking happy. The building itself is new but also looks cared for. It is beautifully furnished but at the same time feels homely and not somewhere where you have to stand on ceremony. As a relative of a resident, I am always made to feel extremely welcome and a part of the 'Grosvenor family', nothing is ever too much trouble and the staff go to great lengths to ensure that mum feels that their home is her home. Mum never has a bad word to say about anyone or anything at Grosvenor Manor and believe me she has high standards! A fantastic place to be, I hope it has free places when I need it.

I first visited Grosvenor Manor in the Spring 2018, when my father in law and mother in law took up residence.
I was very impressed with the quality of the furnishings and decor. Five-star standard, complemented by five-star staff who genuinely cared for their residents.
I was confident they were in good hands and that has proved to be the case.

Well done Grosvenor! Thank you.

I have lived here for 7 months and am very happy. I chose to come here after reviewing several other care homes in this area. It is a great place, so beautifully decorated and furnished. The staff are polite and have proved to be extremely efficient in addition to being very friendly and helpful at all times. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, each being en-suite. It is a joy to be able to be given a shower each morning. We have wonderful activities organised by 2 leaders at each morning and afternoon and lots of evening entertainment.

I came here on 2 weeks respite but it only took one day for me to decide that I wanted to make it my home. It is a very pleasant environment, friendly efficient staff and I have made some good friends. Family feel, very welcoming and all think that my health has improved. We have some very good activities organised by friendly activity staff.

Grosvenor Manor has a pleasant atmosphere and has a "feel good factor". Entertainment is good. There should be more of it. Meals are nutritious and looked forward to. This care centre is worthy of a high commendation.

From the beginning, I have felt at home and settled and hope that it will never be necessary to move from this home. In addition to every day living it is very much appreciated that every day we have an agenda of activities led by two very able two dedicated coordinators. We are given a printed plan, listing the daily plan for the week which ensures nothing is missed.

Very friendly, very caring the staff seem really happy in their work. Activities are non-stop. It's hard to find the right time to visit to solve residents missing out. I can get involved with activities and don't feel in the way. The overall feel of the place is comforting. I know my parent is safe and happy in their care. Thank you Grosvenor Manor Care Centre for making it easier for me and for the excellent care you provide.

Overall Experience
The family looked at quite few nursing care homes for my wife but after visiting Grosvenor Manor, we knew that if we wanted to do the best for my wife, it had to be Grosvenor Manor. It is to all intents and purposes like a 5-star hotel in its furnishings and facilities but if you stop there you miss its greatest offering - the staff. It is a cliche that nothing is too much trouble but that is genuinely true of everyone at Grosvenor Manor from the manager at the top to those we never met but knew of their work behind the scenes.
Caring is not a job it has to be a calling, the staff would always go the extra mile for my wife, nothing was ever too much trouble and always with a smile never a complaint.
At a very difficult time for our family, the staff didn’t just look after my wife’s demands (which would have been enough me!) but they were always there for the family.

We simply could not thank them enough for everything they did for us all.

Mum was initially reluctant to go into care, however, she quickly settled in and absolutely loved it. The care and compassion she received during her recent illness was amazing, the staff were not only very professional but warm and friendly too. Mum joined in the varied activities that were arranged each day, these were important for her as she was very sociable. We would recommend Grosvenor Manor for the care of a loved one without hesitation and during her stay there we felt totally confident that she was being cared for so well. The accommodation, food, the grounds and the general ambience is excellent and the staff are not only helpful and caring to the residents but supportive to their families.

We were so pleased we found Grosvenor Manor for mum.

Although my stay here has been comparatively short, I have gained a very favourable impression of Grosvenor Manor. In a nutshell - the building is of adequate size, with no impression of crowding. The decor is light and tasteful, furnishings are pleasant, as are the bedrooms. Food is excellent and varied. The best asset of the establishment by far is the staff. From management to the cleaning ladies, they are all competent, courteous and cheerful. The carers particularly deserve praise. I heartily recommend Grosvenor Manor to anyone.

Care delivered with compassion. A slow fill in a new home that has allowed everyone to settle in gradually. The staff know, not only the residents but their families as well.

Calm, confident care with little or no interference from head office. Excellent.

My parents arrived under difficult circumstances - after long-term illnesses reached a critical point. From day 1 the team could not have done more to make this transition as good as it possibly could be. We could not hope for a better home and we mean that in the family sense of the word, for our parents. We have been particularly struck by the number of friends/family who visits, it is always filled with laughter and banter in the common areas. ALL staff, not just nursing staff and carers, are always so warm and helpful. Most importantly though is the level of care that my parents, especially my father who suffers from a rare condition called PSP, have received. Their quality of life has far exceeded what we could have hoped for over the last 5 months – our mother has not looked as healthy for years and our father, despite his physical limitations, still tries his best to smile and twinkle his eyes for the staff, as his way of showing his gratitude for all that everyone has done for him.

Both my parents have been at Grosvenor Manor since May 2018. My dad is 86 suffering from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and needs 24 hours medical care. My mum is 81, frail and has some dementia and a history of poor health over the past 20 years. Moving them into a care home was the last resort and a difficult decision. Grosvenor Manor was the one place that seemed to meet the needs of both parents. Having our parents there has changed our lives. The building and furnishings are stunning, yet practical. The staff are amazing. All truly wonderful, caring people who go above and beyond to ensure all residents are cared for and their differing needs met. They have a fabulous rapport with residents and their families. It is a real pleasure to visit our parents and we feel like we are part of one big family. I cannot praise the management and staff highly enough with all they do for our parents. So glad we found this home.

Anne Job Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2020

I’ve worked as a nurse for over 40 years in a variety of roles. I thoroughly enjoy working in care homes. As a nurse, you can build relationships with the people you’re caring for and their families in a way that’s just not possible in a hospital setting where people come and go. I love the fact that we’re making a big difference to people’s lives, and we get to see the evidence of that. It’s a privilege to be working for an excellent provider in Grosvenor Manor Care Centre, Lovett Care. I’m passionate about delivering high-quality care to each resident and supporting the staff in their careers within the healthcare sector.
