In the heart of Parkstone, Poole, Alexandra House is a safe and comfortable residential and dementia care home. This newly rebuilt home offers a pleasant and peaceful setting and a home-from-home atmosphere.

Alexandra House provides an environment where residents can feel at home, safe in the knowledge that someone is responsible for their well-being and care whilst relaxing and enjoying their surroundings with family and friends.

The home has 58 well-appointed bedrooms, all with their own full ensuite facilities. There are charming communal areas with light and spacious lounges, dining rooms, activity areas and themed lounges, which offer a bright and welcoming environment for residents and their families.

Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at any time and that can offer advice and support if you have any questions regarding the care of a loved one.

I have not seen my brother so happy and relaxed for a long time I used to dread going to visit him as dementia changed his personality to an irritable, verbally abusive and moody person but the staff here are brilliant. I can't thank them enough for the change they have made with him.

My mum only moved in on 1st June and became unwell after two days. She was them taken into hospital. Upon her return and during her hospital stay, all the team have been nothing but supportive in every way. Since returning from the hospital last week. Every member of staff have looked after her with
care and dignity, even the amazing chef come in to introduce himself. My thanks to all.

As I was the first lady to visit the new rebuilt Alexandra House, I am confident that the high standard of this care home will continue. All the carers day and night and the management were a great team,


Daily entertainment, sitting in the sheltered garden on visiting the nearby park - very enjoyable.

“Prior to joining Care South, I worked in a residential care home for 14 years where I started as a Care Assistant and progressed to Manager of the Dementia Community. I have a number of formal qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social care and in 2021, in my previous role, I won Manager of the Year at our annual awards.


My Mum was a Community Carer and gave me the push that I needed to go into the care industry, I have never looked back and love working in such a rewarding industry because every day is different. I get to meet people who all have different stories to tell, and I love making a difference in people’s lives and making sure that high-quality care is delivered daily.


I am extremely excited for the future of Alexandra House and very proud to be the Registered Manager of such a wonderful home.”
