Overall Experience

I am greatly relieved that we have found such an excellent care home for my wife, who has had Parkinson's for 14 years. The Cavendish Park Care Home in Evesham is newly opened, a new build with wonderful decor, furnishings and resident facilities which, in my opinion, are second to none in terms of environment, staff expertise and commitment. We visited many care home sin Worcestershire during our search. There is a total dedication of all employees to deliver in a positive and practical fashion the image of residents living within a caring family. This commitment is led by a very experienced manager who, with enthusiasm, insists upon the 'family' mission. All members of staff have been fully trained by the management team together with specialist training by qualified external consultants. Thus they are well aware of the high caring standards which are expected of them. In addition smiles, kindness and cheerfulness ensure that the residents feel happy and at home, and always cared for. Finding a care home for my wife, where I believeed she would be encompassed with the care which I sought for her was disheartening until I found Cavendish Park. With a caring and well-trained team of staff led by a committed and enthusiastic manager, it is my belief that no one could find anywhere better than Cavendish Park.

Mel Hoskins
Mel HoskinsJob Title:General ManagerJoined: 2019

Promoted to General Manager in late 2021, Mel has over 20 years of experience in the care and hotel industry covering a variety of roles.

Mel joined the luxury care home Cavendish Park in 2016 as Customer Relationship Manager following 7 years as a Regional Customer Relationship Manager for a large care group.

Joining the team in the home commissioning phase, Mel has built wonderful relationships with the local and wider community, forming bonds and relationships that enable our residents to remain part of that community once they move to Cavendish Park. Mel is dedicated to ensuring that the home remains at the heart of the local community.

Mel understands how important moving from independent living to living in a care home is. She is kind, experienced, and compassionate in supporting new residents, their relatives, and loved ones through this emotive time.

Mel is dedicated to always providing excellent customer service, remaining empathic and professional, she is always on hand to offer support and guidance throughout the journey.

When taking time away from home, Mel is a big fan of walking, hiking, and hill-climbing. She enjoys spending time with her husband, 3 grown-up children and 2 stepdaughters.

And more than anything she loves cuddles with her beautiful hairless Russian sphynx cat, Bubba... who definitely rules the roost in the Hoskins household.

Hello, I'm Lucy.

I am the Administration Services Manager at the luxury care home Cavendish Park! I originally started as an Administrator back in June 2020.

I have worked in caring environments most of my working life – including nurseries and schools. I also have lots of experience in hospitality. Ultimately it didn’t give me the same buzz as working in care.

It was a goal of mine to join Cavendish Park for such a long time and when the time finally arose – I jumped at the chance! I feel it is very important not only to get to know residents and relatives but also your colleagues, as we spend every working day with our team. It is just lovely being part of the Cavendish Park Family.

To my surprise, I was nominated for Majesticare’s Star Awards 2023, for the Jedi Recognition Award, which is an award created by Majesticare recognising individuals who recognise the work of their fellow teammates. I was lucky enough to win the award and had the opportunity to attend the Majesticare Star Awards.

Hello, I am Kim, Lifestyle and Community Lead at our wonderful Care Home, Cavendish Park!

Until now I have never worked in a care home, I trained as a nurse at the beginning of my career, and after having my two children I worked for Age UK for a total of 25 years. In 2000, I moved from South London to live in Evesham and continued to work at Age UK Warwickshire for over 8 years before moving to Rooftop Housing Association as a health and well-being Co-Ordinator, for over 13 years.

Following a restructuring within the company, I decided to look for another post, and happily, I found this job. My work experience plus lifetime skills within health promotion and the well-being field have given me the perfect balance to fit into this role.

At Cavendish Park, I currently run a series of groups and events completely open to the local community including our monthly Community Coffee Morning as well as my Singing for Wellbeing Group, Parkinson's Support Group and my Knit and Natter Group. I have built a real support network among our residents, team and Cavendish Park community.
