Ruddington Manor Care Home

Staff, cleaners, cooks very good.

I am entirely dissatisfied with the lack of transparency regarding care home visiting. We have been prevented from visiting due to several outbreaks of Covid among staff members, and those visits permitted have been limited in duration. Both of which contravene Government Guidelines, 'the duration of visits should not be limited if safe visiting practices can be maintained' and ' during an outbreak, care providers should also continue to offer visits in well-ventilated spaces with substantial screens, visiting pods or from behind windows'. I have tried to contact the care home manager, by phone and via email, however, they are repeatedly unavailable.

Words can not express how happy I am with the care and service provided to my mum. The staff are amazing, full of energy and always go above and beyond. The days are fun-filled with activities and the residents are always entertained. The staff are truly devoted to their work and take such pride and passion in caring and developing a bond with the residents.

The transition from respite care to permanent care for my father was made so much smoother by the care provided by the manager and her team at Ruddington Manor. A sensitive, caring environment that allows the user dignity and an individual approach. Would recommend.

My mum lived at Ruddington Manor for 20 months from August 2019 to May 2021 when sadly she died. Although she did struggle to adjust initially, she settled in quite well and enjoyed watching the social/well-being events organised by the team and the general bustle of the place. Obviously, this last year was the best and worst time to be there. Best because we knew she was cared for and occupied. Moreover, the home staff largely kept Covid out of the home and protected the residents really well. But of course, the downside was that I was only able to see Mum twice in her last year of life. Before that (and imposed restrictions) the home welcomed any family members visiting her and extended the same welcome to us as they did the residents. It is during the last two months of Mum's life though that Ruddington Manor staff came into their own. They cared for her with great commitment and respect. Her passing was peaceful because of it.

Ruddington Manor was a jewel of a find when my mum eventually became too frail to live independently. It was a huge change for her, of course, but it wasn't long before she was joining in with the activities and interacting with the staff and other residents. I have been particularly impressed with the current manager, who is not only very capable but also eminently approachable, with a hands-on approach to her role. The wellbeing team leader and staff are really enthusiastic and excellent at engaging with residents. The care staff are professional and truly do care about their clients, dealing with difficulties with patience and compassion. The same goes for the hospitality team members with whom I have interacted. During the pandemic, we have been able to keep in touch via Skype sessions and visits when allowed. I could not guess how many calls I made to the receptionists and office staff over this period but they were always answered with respect and warmth. Highly recommended.

Ruddington Manor care home provided the most wonderful care to my dad. Every member of staff from the matron to the kitchen staff knew my dad by his name and would make time to have little chats with him. He was always very proud of the quality of environment, food and care that he received here. As his daughter, all communication was fantastic even getting responses to emails out of hours. It is clearly a vocation to the staff at Ruddington Manor who are clearly driven by the quality of care they provide.

This has not been an easy 12 months due to the many issues which arise once a relative is admitted to a care home and in addition of course there has been the lockdown. What has impressed me about Ruddington Manor is that not only are the staff 100% committed to helping the residents to have the best quality of life but they also care about the families and support them too. The manager has been extremely helpful and supportive, working hard to resolve any difficulties that my mum has had. In fact, working over a period of time and going above and beyond to build a relationship with my mum. The staff obviously have a lot of knowledge and experience and communicate well with one another to ensure they all know the needs of each individual resident. Having spent more time recently in the Manor, due to visits with covid testing, I have seen first hand the cheerful working environment and am impressed with how all the staff have adapted to having to work in a way non of us imagined pre-covid.

Ruddington Manor Care Centre has provided excellent care for my mother-in-law over the last 17 months since she moved in. The Centre has a very high standard of facilities in a new building and the attitude and hard work of the staff and management have been exemplary.

Our nonna was taken into Ruddington Manor following a stay in hospital. She was admitted with frailty. She had exposure to Covid at the hospital and went on to test positive. Ruddington were transparent and clear with us and cannot say for sure if the virus was from them or the hospital. The dignity and compassion they showed to our beloved nonna cannot be measured. The team were incredibly busy working long shifts during this pandemic: visitors were not allowed and therefore numerous calls were made daily for updates. The staff always made time to speak and fully answer our concerns. Every effort was made for us to have virtual visits to our nonna via WhatsApp video calls. We lost our nonna on New Year's Eve, we were permitted a visit to say goodbye. The staff treated her as an individual and did their best to make allowances that were safe for all. The staff were outstanding with their love and care for Nonna and the entire family.

I would highly recommend Ruddington Manor from absolute every aspect.

Excellent all-round care.

My friend was a respite resident for 2 months. A beautiful care home, very professional and helpful, caring management team - especially the lady manager who would go out of her way to help with anything small or big. My friend had a lovely stay and will move to the home permanently when her time is ready.

It is easy to talk to the team about Mum's care needs. Mum is very happy with the care she receives and gels well with all the staff. Carry on the good work.

The staff go above and beyond what is required to ensure all residents are well cared for and as happy as they can be. Nothing is too much trouble. Relatives feel involved in decision making and very welcome each time they visit. I'm so happy we chose Ruddington Manor for my Mum.

Ruddington Manor is a beautiful clean friendly care home. The atmosphere is great and have to say improved over the last couple of months. Staff are so caring and professional. Great social environment and a variety of things to do. Nothing is too much for the team including the manager who is very caring, helpful and involved. Highly recommend this home as the quality matches the warm environment.

Ruddington Manor is an amazing place. My friend came here last month for four months and had improved and made so much progress, so much so, she was able to return home and live alone. However, her condition deteriorated, and she needed care again, the more important reason is she needed a safe environment. We came back on my recommendation. I advised the family to bring here back to Ruddington Manor, she knew all the staff and residents and seemed to blossom at the care centre. My friend needs stimulation and the wellbeing team managed to keep her calm and happy, with an abundance of meaningful activities. Staff really have looked after her well in the past and continue to do so. She is now settled, and the family are delighted with the change in her. She has settled really well back there. I often visit, and she is always busy taking part in activities, I also love taking part, it feels like home at the centre.

I have been coming to visit a family friend at this care home and I felt compelled to write a review after experiencing such a wonderful atmosphere and such lovely surroundings, the residents all seem so happy here and the team are second to none at providing what I can only describe as a royal standard in service. The way the residents are encouraged to enjoy such a wide range of activities and such a brilliant standard of care is outstanding. I only hope if the time comes that I would have the privilege to be taken care of by such lovely people.
