Ruddington Manor care home provided the most wonderful care to my dad. Every member of staff from the matron to the kitchen staff knew my dad by his name and would make time to have little chats with him. He was always very proud of the quality of environment, food and care that he received here. As
his daughter, all communication was fantastic even getting responses to emails out of hours. It is clearly a vocation to the staff at Ruddington Manor who are clearly driven by the quality of care they provide.
Reply from Tracy Johnston, Manager at Ruddington Manor Care HomeDear Lorraine, thank you for taking the time to write a review for the care home. It was a pleasure to be able to care for and know your dad and loved our little chats putting the world to rights. Hope to see you again soon

This has not been an easy 12 months due to the many issues which arise once a relative is admitted to a care home and in addition of course there has been the lockdown. What has impressed me about Ruddington Manor is that not only are the staff 100% committed to helping the residents to have the best
quality of life but they also care about the families and support them too. The manager has been extremely helpful and supportive, working hard to resolve any difficulties that my mum has had. In fact, working over a period of time and going above and beyond to build a relationship with my mum. The staff obviously have a lot of knowledge and experience and communicate well with one another to ensure they all know the needs of each individual resident. Having spent more time recently in the Manor, due to visits with covid testing, I have seen first hand the cheerful working environment and am impressed with how all the staff have adapted to having to work in a way non of us imagined pre-covid.

Ruddington Manor Care Centre has provided excellent care for my mother-in-law over the last 17 months since she moved in. The Centre has a very high standard of facilities in a new building and the attitude and hard work of the staff and management have been exemplary.

Our nonna was taken into Ruddington Manor following a stay in hospital. She was admitted with frailty. She had exposure to Covid at the hospital and went on to test positive. Ruddington were transparent and clear with us and cannot say for sure if the virus was from them or the hospital. The dignity
and compassion they showed to our beloved nonna cannot be measured. The team were incredibly busy working long shifts during this pandemic: visitors were not allowed and therefore numerous calls were made daily for updates. The staff always made time to speak and fully answer our concerns. Every effort was made for us to have virtual visits to our nonna via WhatsApp video calls. We lost our nonna on New Year's Eve, we were permitted a visit to say goodbye. The staff treated her as an individual and did their best to make allowances that were safe for all. The staff were outstanding with their love and care for Nonna and the entire family.

We moved my dad to this nursing home after a hospital spell which was the result of a TIA (transient ischaemic attack).
As a family, we were concerned about Dad remaining in a previous care home without any nursing knowledge and decided to take him directly to Ruddington Manor from the hospital.
Our
experience could not have been better, from meeting the manager 24 hours before Dad's discharge, she and her team worked with speed and amazing support and care to take Dad in and settle him into his new home. His dementia meant that he was very confused but he started to immediately enjoy the company and the food which had a priority for him.
He enjoyed the interaction with all the staff, especially the entertainment team and was made to feel at home.
I would highly recommend Ruddington Manor from absolute every aspect.

My friend was a respite resident for 2 months. A beautiful care home, very professional and helpful, caring management team - especially the lady manager who would go out of her way to help with anything small or big. My friend had a lovely stay and will move to the home permanently when her time is

Ruddington Manor is an amazing place. My friend came here last month for four months and had improved and made so much progress, so much so, she was able to return home and live alone. However, her condition deteriorated, and she needed care again, the more important reason is she needed a safe environment.
We came back on my recommendation. I advised the family to bring here back to Ruddington Manor, she knew all the staff and residents and seemed to blossom at the care centre. My friend needs stimulation and the wellbeing team managed to keep her calm and happy, with an abundance of meaningful activities. Staff really have looked after her well in the past and continue to do so. She is now settled, and the family are delighted with the change in her. She has settled really well back there. I often visit, and she is always busy taking part in activities, I also love taking part, it feels like home at the centre.

I have been coming to visit a family friend at this care home and I felt compelled to write a review after experiencing such a wonderful atmosphere and such lovely surroundings, the residents all seem so happy here and the team are second to none at providing what I can only describe as a royal standard
in service. The way the residents are encouraged to enjoy such a wide range of activities and such a brilliant standard of care is outstanding. I only hope if the time comes that I would have the privilege to be taken care of by such lovely people.

I have been visiting Ruddington Manor regularly for over a year and can’t speak highly enough of the staff. Not only are they always warm, friendly and welcoming to visitors but they offer the highest standards of care. The well being/activities staff are outstanding, always offering time, care and
patience. They also gently encourage everyone to take part and are genuinely inclusive, always trying to accommodate individual needs.
The new manager is great and really approachable - and very ‘hands-on’, she recently unblocked my friend's toilet!
The home itself is beautifully furnished and decorated.... it really feels like a hotel!
I have no hesitation in highly recommending Ruddington Manor.

We recently organised a 'surprise' birthday celebration for my father and 24 guests at the Ruddington Manor Care Centre which involved a private dining experience followed by a screening and singalong to one of his favourite films in the cinema room. The 3-course meal and service were of the highest
quality and praised by all the guests, as was the birthday cake taken during the 'intermission' in the film. Everything ran smoothly from beginning to end, so a big and thoroughly deserved thank you to all of the team for helping us to make this a very happy and memorable birthday celebration for our much loved Dad. We would not hesitate to recommend the facilities to anyone planning a similar celebration.

My Dad has developed a new lease of life since becoming a resident of Ruddington Manor 5 months ago.
The staff are excellent, standards of care are extremely high and there is always a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
Any problems are quickly and efficiently dealt with.
When we visit Dad is often
busy enjoying one of the activities that are organised each day. If not, he will be relaxing in his room
or chatting with other residents in the lounge sharing a glass of wine or beer, or out on one of the organised trips into the community.
His mobility has improved, as has his sleep pattern. Dad has made new friends and is looking better than he has been for a long time.
It was very hard for all of us to make the decision that Dad needed to go into care. Ruddington Manor has surpassed all expectations.
It is more like a hotel than a Care home, it always smells clean and fresh.
My Dad is happy.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.706)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.706) out of 10 for Ruddington Manor Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 37 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.706 for Ruddington Manor Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (382 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (20 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 442 Ratings = 4.706
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ruddington Manor Care Home is based on 35 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 35 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2024

I have been a registered nurse since 2008. I initially worked in a hospital, but when I started working in a care home, I knew that my heart belonged to elderly care. I joined New Care in 2019 as a Deputy Home Manager, and although I had to leave in 2021 to become Home Manager then proceeded to become a Regional Manager. I know that I would want to go back to working for New Care as the company holds the same values as I do. I love how caring the company is, not just to the residents but also to the staff. They make sure that everyone is well taken care of. I have been fortunate to be working alongside the wonderful team at Ruddington Manor. We are one in aiming to give the highest quality of care to our residents in the home and improve their quality of life.

In my spare time, I like to spend it with family. I have a 10-year-old son, Marco, and an 11-month-old baby, Olivia, who keep me busy with their antics in my free time.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Before my promotion to Deputy Manager, I started working at Ruddington Manor as Head of Residential Care in 2021, this was following a few years as a Senior Care Assistant for those living in Residential Dementia care. I found myself working in a Dementia Specialist Nursing Home whilst at University studying Health and Social Care. I found a passion for elderly care and have gradually progressed within the industry.

Whilst New Care has supported me in completing my Level 5 in Leadership and Management within Health and Social Care, I was initially drawn to the home by the warm atmosphere. Our team realize the company values daily and naturally builds such meaningful relationships with those in our care, and their loved ones, that it is easy to be proud of what we do and enjoy coming to Ruddington Manor each day.

Job Title: Home Administrator

I began working at Ruddington Manor in April 2022, and from the very beginning, it felt like both the care sector—and this home in particular—was exactly where I was meant to be.

In February 2024, I was proud to be promoted to Administrator, and I’ve never looked back. Ruddington Manor is a truly special place, full of life, love, and kindness.

I’m passionate about working in care because I love seeing our residents happy, well-cared-for, and truly valued. My role allows me to connect with a wide range of people—from residents and their families to visitors and colleagues—and I appreciate that every day brings something different.

I take great pride in providing support to families, residents, and staff whenever it’s needed, and over time, I’ve built strong, meaningful relationships across the home.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my daughter, my partner, and our family and friends.

Job Title: Wellbeing Coordinator

I began my career at Ruddington Manor in September 2023 as a Care Assistant, where I spent a year and a half dedicating myself to delivering compassionate, high-quality care. During this time, I discovered my true passion lay in bringing joy, creativity, and meaningful experiences to residents through activities and companionship.

This led me to transition into the Wellbeing team as a Wellbeing Assistant, where I could focus on making a positive difference in residents’ daily lives. In September 2025, I was promoted to Wellbeing Coordinator, a role that allows me to combine my kindness, respect, and love for others with my drive to create uplifting moments.

I have been honoured with two consecutive nominations for the ‘Golden Ticket’ award, recognising the magical days I provide for residents. I am proud to have begun my career journey at Ruddington Manor and excited to continue making an impact with enthusiasm and care.

Job Title: Head of Hospitality

Since 2009, I have built extensive experience across the hospitality, hotel, travel, and events industries, developing a strong passion for delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences. Throughout my career, I have gained a deep understanding of people’s needs, ensuring care, attention to detail, and empathy in every role I have undertaken.

I am currently proud to serve as Head of Hospitality at Ruddington Manor Care Centre. Working in this environment feels especially meaningful to me, as I was very close to my grandparents. That personal connection inspires my commitment to providing respectful, compassionate, and high-quality care to every resident - just as I would for my own family.

Job Title: Head Chef

I joined Ruddington Manor as Head Chef in April 2023, bringing with me 13 years of experience across restaurants, hotels, and care homes.

What inspires me most about working in care is the chance to combine my love of cooking with the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. For me, food is never just a meal - it’s a way to show care, quality, and heart.

The best part of working at Ruddington Manor is the genuine sense of family. We’re one team, always supporting one another to give residents the very best experience.

One of the proudest moments in my career was cooking for the Nottingham Forest Football Team - a true highlight I’ll never forget!

Outside of the kitchen, I enjoy football, travelling, and exploring new cuisines from around the world - both cooking and tasting them.

A favourite quote of mine is: “Do something good and good will come back to you.” It’s a principle I strive to live and work by every day.

Job Title: Home Trainer

Having worked for New Care, now Lovett Care, for over 7 years, I feel that from the very beginning, I knew I had made the right decision to work here. Here we have in-house trainers in all of our homes, which is a great advantage to the care industry, as there are always opportunities for all staff members to learn new things and career development within the home, gaining support and guidance from the manager and home trainer. I aim to provide top-quality training to all staff, which allows them to provide top-quality care to the residents
