Worthington Lake Care Home

My father has been a resident at Worthington Lake for almost a year now and I have nothing but praise for the home and staff. They are always so very kind, caring, attentive and cheerful and treat my father with dignity and respect. In addition, the facilities are exceptional, and the home is modern, spotlessly clean and above all homely. My father has a spacious ensuite bedroom which is always clean and tidy when I visit. The food is home-cooked and very appetising and my father especially likes the mid-morning and afternoon sweet and savoury treats. He also enjoys participating in activities such as trips out for lunch or listening to musical performances on the piano. I feel my father is being very well cared for at Worthington Lake and would have no hesitation recommending the home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment. All in all an exceptionally well-run home.

Family and friends are always welcomed by the staff and management when visiting. Any questions answered and concerns about health within a professional manner. The staff deal with residents with kindness, care and dignity. Meals and other daily treats are presented well and look very tempting. Activities are well arranged including outings at different times and places. Quiet piano performances produce relaxation or alternatively a good sing-along.

The quality of care provided at Worthington Lake is outstanding. The staff know the residents extremely well and there is a desire to ensure they feel at home, are well cared for and enjoy life. Residents are encouraged to take part in activities inside and outside the home, such as swimming, ice skating, and music groups. The home has excellent facilities and is set in beautiful surroundings, while my dad's room is very clean, spacious and homely. The food is excellent quality with a roast and buffet on Sunday dishes included on the menu for certain residents and a special cake made by one of the residents. We have noticed a considerable improvement in my dad's mental and physical health since he moved in, which is entirely down to the care and commitment of the wonderful staff who go above and beyond to ensure his needs are met. Heartfelt thanks to everyone for improving my dad's quality of life; although it was a difficult decision to move him out of his own home, it's the best one we could have made.

My mum has been in Worthington Lake Care Home for about eighteen months now but every time I visit I am still reminded of just what an excellent choice we made for her. Apart from being a beautiful care home in a beautiful location the main thing really is the excellent level of care provided to my mum by the most dedicated, professional and caring people I could ever have hoped for. Thank you all so much.

Mum moved into Worthington Lake Care Home in October 2021 along with my Dad, they were not coping at home with Mum's dementia and Dad's deteriorating health - sadly Mum is now there on her own, but the care she received through the difficult time of losing Dad and ongoing care she receives is amazing. Worthington Lakes is a beautiful care home, well designed with a modern, clean and spacious layout, the rooms are large and provide everything Mum needs. The staff are so helpful, knowledgeable and caring, it is very reassuring knowing that Mum is so well looked after. Mum has not looked so well for years, she loves the position of her room as she can see everyone coming and going, and most importantly feels safe and secure - thank you everyone at Worthington Lake Care Home.

My mum recently went into Worthington Lake Care Home unwell with dementia and not eating and drinking as she should. Staff at Worthington have now got her eating and drinking and with all the activities they are making/bringing out in her the best she can be. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and quality of life they have given to her.

My partner's mum came to stay at Worthington Lake Care Home at the end of May. Mum has suffered from Dementia for a few years and her husband died suddenly in July 2021, - since then the 3 siblings were taking turns to stay with her and look after her. With much angst and emotion after 12 months we accepted that this was not sustainable and started to look for a Care Home. After viewing several, there simply was no second choice other than Worthington Lake Care Home. Amazing staff, smart welcoming hotel style living. Open plan kitchen areas, balcony and gardens etc. However, the thing that has continued to amaze us and make us feel so happy that there was a place for mum is the amount of daily interactions and trips out etc that are arranged by Worthington Lake Care Home. I particularly love the “make my day” and the fact that activities are tailored to each individual. Mum has had her hair cut and it suits her! The change in her has been amazing, she is bright and confident and has settled into her new home well.

Since becoming a resident at Worthington Lake Care Home my father’s health and general demeanour have improved dramatically. This is purely down to the care and attention he receives there, from the quality staff members across all of the disciplines. He compares it to a 5-star hotel and I couldn’t agree more.

Good all round care, with good facilities, caring staff and dignity for residents. Extra activities and special days eg Jubilee are well thought out. Day trips that take place are in line with residents interests and are communicated via Facebook.

On a personal note, our dad is doing much better since he arrived here, he has put on weight, his speech has improved and it is very reassuring he is in such a safe, well cared for and stimulating environment. It is the best decision we have made for him.

I would definitely recommend Worthington Lake Care Home to family and friends.

Worthington Lake has been absolutely amazing with my mum since she moved there in April this year. There is a lovely family atmosphere and everybody is included in all aspects of care home life. The activities are fab, fun and centred around the residents. They have recently been able to go out on day trips, which has been lovely to see. The staff work tirelessly to make sure Mum is safe and happy and this gives me great peace of mind.

We have only visited Auntie in her room, not experienced food or drink. We are always welcomed with a smile, the residents we have seen do seem relaxed and happy. Our care package shows us the staff do know and understand my auntie. We are very happy with her care.

The care provided in Worthington Lake is exceptional. The staff go out of their way to provide a home from home, in which I see my father is treated with respect and genuine affection. The management of the home communicates regularly with families, and even though we live too far away to visit regularly, we feel connected to and informed about the life my father now leads.

The care and professionalism of the management and staff have been really impressive. Dad has settled in far more easily than we could have hoped which has been a huge relief for the family. The benefits for him are clear.

Worthington Lakes Care Home is set in beautiful, peaceful surroundings with excellent, clean, modern and comfortable facilities, like that of a luxury hotel. The staff are very friendly, loving and caring to both residents and family members. Loved how we could just call in at any time, be made to feel at home and make a brew. Hopefully, this will recommence once the current restrictions allow. Have to say that Mum's quality of life has certainly improved since becoming a resident.

Such care, understanding and respect for the residents with Dementia. Always thinking of how they can help and assist the residents settle into their new home. My mum suffered the loss of my dad whilst he too was in the home and with the care and support she has received she is now back to dancing and joining in with the activities. She loves to help where she can and the staff encourage her with the tasks she wants to do. Having pets in the home is lovely as the residents get great pleasure seeing them. Interactions via the Facebook portal, being on Facebook is a comfort as you can see what is happening and what they've been up to on a very regular basis. The food is second to none with excellent chefs and cooks employed there. The home is beautiful, spotlessly clean, the surroundings of the gardens and Worthington lake itself are amazing and so peaceful and tranquil.

My mum suffered a major downturn in her health earlier this year, and the support, care and compassion I witnessed from all of the staff and carers, not just to her, but to myself was outstanding and helped us all through a very difficult period. My mum's health is much improved.

Mum has now been in Worthington Lake Care Home for 11-months. Over those months, her dementia condition has worsened. I have nothing but appreciation for how the staff, all staff, have supported mum and their care and patience is truly outstanding. I really feel mum is cared for as an individual with her own idiosyncrasies. Mum loves singing and this has been well catered for. Mum is very independent and before it was necessary for 24-hour care. she resisted carers helping her in her own home and always knew they were carers by the uniforms. What is great at Worthington is that carers wear their own clothes no uniform. Just one thing the home do in responding to the issues of having dementia. It was one of the hardest decisions for me to make for mum needing a care home, but I have peace of mind in knowing she is happy and well cared for.
