Since Dad has been here the care in my opinion has been excellent. Everyone is very helpful to Dad and nothing is too much. Dad is very settled and pleased with the care he is getting.

The care offered to my father was very good and adapted well to his declining health. The staff monitored his health closely and were very good at calling in doctors when required. Once it had been recommended to have 'end of life care' put in place, the home responded quickly, moving him to their nursing unit and applying for the appropriate funding for him, we had nothing to do.
We were kept informed quickly of any significant incidents and, following our request, had a weekly update on Dad's progress via email. The staff were always approachable and happy to answer questions.
Before his health deteriorated, he enjoyed both the activities on offer and the ability to have his own space as well.
The ability to be able to have 'patio' visits is really positive for the home.

I would happily recommend this care home as they made the last days of my father's life as comfortable as possible.

I cannot comment on certain areas etc as we have not been allowed in places such as the lounge, dining and even the resident's rooms. Also "treated with dignity" I just hope so as again not being allowed in to see what "goes on" it is difficult to access.

My Dad came to this home for respite and end-of-life care. The home and the staff are fantastic. My sisters and I were so happy that our Dad was being so well looked after and the care was second to none. Glenholme is like a hotel, the place is immaculate and the staff are amazing. They responded promptly to everything and were always friendly and efficient. My Dad knew he didn't have long left and they made a difficult time much easier for everyone. The staff made sure he was never in pain and comfortable. He really did have Rolls Royce care and they were committed to not only caring for our Dad but looking after us as a family as well.

My Father who had Dementia was a resident from December 2019 to October 2020 before sadly passing away. Putting him into care was truly heartbreaking and after looking at various homes I can honestly say I chose the best one and would not hesitate to recommend. It is a beautiful, modern home with wonderful staff. The care he received was second to none. I cannot fault this home at all. It is outstanding.

Cannot recommend this nursing home enough. My father-in-law resided here for the final few weeks of his life. Covid-19 restricted the visits we could make which had to be booked in advance, but from those visits, you could see he was being extremely well cared for and being treated with dignity and respect. The home has a clear policy for covid-19 which is being adhered to. Every member of staff we spoke with was kind and friendly and had his best interests at heart. The accommodation is of a high standard and the home was always clean when we visited. I would strongly recommend it. I work in the care sector and this is an excellent care home.

My wife was looked after for daycare, respite, permanent residence, and finally nursing and "end of life" care. The care throughout was of a high standard. Truly excellent was the nursing and care at the very end stages of "end of life" care. It was valuable that as her dementia progressed she had continuity and in the final stages, some of the staff/nurses caring for her had known her for years.

Dad spent his last seven weeks of his life at Glenholme Holdingham Grange. It was so reassuring to see him surrounded by such caring supportive staff in a clean and airy care home finished to such a high standard.
I am writing this review to save other families going through the turmoil of choosing a suitable care home for their loved one. I looked around eight other care homes that were substandard and smelly in comparison but all had good CQC reports. I feel these reports are a tick box exercise and I would encourage others to view Glenholme Holdingham Grange as I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I will always always be grateful for the outstanding care and attention the staff gave my father.

My Dad spent the final 9 months of his life at Holdingham Grange. The care he received during this time was excellent. The home is beautiful, so light and airy, and is maintained to the highest standards. One cannot fault the food which is always freshly prepared including homemade cakes. There are a large number of activities provided by the activities team and also outside agencies which are well attended and enjoyed by a large number of residents.

The end of life care which my Dad received and the support given to myself and my Mum was outstanding. I cannot thank the staff enough for their professionalism and kindness during this difficult time.

My wife was sent to Glenholme Holdingham Grange for a couple of weeks respite care whilst home care was arranged.
During her stay, she has been very happy, and well looked after. She has been encouraged to try and help herself and to join in the activities - those which she has participated in; she has enjoyed very much.

She has also used the lovely hairdressers.

Review from Allan W (Partner of Resident) published on 21 February 2020 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

Overall I was very disappointed with my partner's care. In most respects there were shortfalls. I believe this is a lot to do with the general standards in the nation's care. The overriding factor being costs and staffing. Having a posh building is not the main issue when caring for a very frightened and sick person. More really caring staff and thoughtfulness would have made a great difference. The external back up was below par as well.

Reply from Stuart McLaughlan, Financial Director at Holdingham Grange Care & Nursing Home

This gentleman complained to head office about the home, which was thoroughly investigated and unfounded. He was able to stay with his partner 24 hours a day and was provided with food and emotional support throughout. His partner was very satisfied with the care and support provided to her - frequently telling staff without prompting.

I had a brother in the above home who passed away 29th May 2019. My other brother was very poorly after a heart operation. So I wanted him to have the same care. Unfortunately, he passed away on the 23rd of November 2019. I can rest knowing I gave them the best care they could have.

Mum and Dad have both been residents here now for approximately 4 months. Mum came from another care home, and since arriving here, there has been a massive improvement in her health and general well-being. Both parents, are being well cared for by caring, cheerful and knowledgeable staff. The surroundings are first class, and as a family, we are all happy and reassured by the way the home is run by all the staff we have encountered. Nothing is too much trouble.

The home is beautifully clean, smells fantastic and has a good range of equipment and activities to keep the residents involved. The staff are the shining lights of this organisation, they care with empathy, sympathy, and genuine Mohan. My mother felt looked after during her whole stay. We as a family took confidence from the staff approach and felt in our absence our mum was comfortable physically, but also, supported emotionally. Activities team were engaging inclusive and enthusiastic and really got to know what each resident enjoyed.
