We moved Mum to Montfort Manor almost 2 years ago, after poor standards of care at another home. Mum's dementia gave her a couple of annoying habits, but the staff were amazing, always keeping an eye on her so that she didn't cause distress to other residents, and finding things to try and keep her interested and occupied. We went through the difficult period of either no, or very restrictive, visiting during the COVID lock-downs but the home reacted to all Government advice with sense and compassion and always kept me informed of Mum's daily life. Mum suffered a stroke about four months ago and was then moved to the nursing floor where she received excellent care and died there last month, very quietly and peacefully in her sleep. One of the best things about Montfort Manor, compared to other care homes, is that they have qualified nurses, both on the management team and in charge of the various floors. Our family cannot thank the home enough for the care they gave our mother.

Mum went to Montfort for a respite 3 weeks, having been home alone for over a year, recently widowed and diagnosed with dementia. From Day 1, she settled straight in and the loneliness and stress of living alone suddenly went away. She has become a different person. She has regained her confidence, has been able to sit and have conversations, she has been eating properly and keeping hydrated. She is also taking part in daily activities and generally looking after herself again. She has now become a permanent resident, feeling safe and cared for. For me, the experience has been stressful but for the first time in a long time, I can now visit my mother as her daughter and spend some quality time with her, rather than visit her as a carer. This is all solely down to the amazing staff at Montfort. They have not only changed my mum's life but also changed mine. They are all extremely friendly and loving and treat my mother as if she's the only resident. I will never be able to thank them enough.

My mum was admitted to Montfort Manor for end of life care after having been in hospital for six weeks. From the time she arrived to the time she passed, she received amazing care. Nothing was too much trouble for the fantastic nursing team, as well as the receptionists and all the other staff. They looked after me and my family just as well and demonstrated constant kindness and compassion. I cannot thank them enough for making an extremely difficult and challenging time more bearable.

I’m not sure the team at Montfort Manor will ever quite know what a difference they made to our dad’s last few days. I am so, so grateful he was able leave the hospital and be in their care.

The home itself is absolutely beautiful. A real home from home, and the staff (every single one of them) from management down were nothing short of amazing. You could tell they really, really cared at every step and we are eternally grateful for all they did for us.

Everything from the room itself to the meals, to the care provided (and I’m sure the activities, some of which we read about) were absolutely second to none.

If you are reading this review wondering if Montfort is the best place for your loved one, even in difficult times, please don’t hesitate.

In what was a very tough time for our family in Dad's last days, I cannot thank all the staff at Montford Manor for their kindness and care in a quiet and lovely environment.

Every member of staff we dealt with was professional and genuinely caring. We know it made Dad more comfortable and helped us be with him to the end.

I will never forget Dad's final days and they were made as good as they could be for him.

Thank you.

My husband was admitted for end of life care to this wonderful home. It felt like a 5 star hotel rather than a nursing home.
The staff were amazing, kind, compassionate and caring.
He passed away peacefully in his sleep and although I was not present, I know he was not alone.

I have called back once since he passed and was welcomed. I look forward to be able to volunteer in the future.

I would like to express my gratitude to the team at Montfort Manor for helping my family during a very difficult period. My father lost his mobility and could no longer care for himself whilst living in France and needed to come back to the UK for full-time nursing care. After calling a long list of care homes, Montfort Manor was the only home receptive to helping us resolve our challenge, and actively helped us find the solution so that I could safely send my father home. As it was on a temporary basis which ended up as being 3 months, I was in constant contact with the team and social services over this period while we found his permanent place. Excellent communication, problem-solving and a supportive ear helped our family navigate what would be a challenge during normal times, but seemed initially impossible during Covid. A huge thank you to the whole team and in particular my contact in the customer support team who was always patient, helpful and good humoured.

Montfort Manor have really made waves in the caring community.
My grandmother has been in their care for 6 months now and they have gone above and beyond to care and look after her. Our grandmother is very happy and always has great things to say about the staff and facilities. She has really come out of her shell and has even taken up dancing since becoming a resident at Montfort Manor, something that our family has never seen our grandmother do!
She is always happy, smiling, laughing and joking and we have really seen her personality blossom despite her condition, which again is very pleasing for our family. Our grandmother is our biggest treasure and it was an arduous task to find somewhere that we thought could care for her as well as we did but the staff at Montfort Manor have more than exceeded our expectations and continue to do so on a day to day basis.

Montfort Manor is truly deserved of the name 'Manor' and there is nowhere else we would rather our grandmother be.

I am judging Montfort Manor against another care home that my mother was in previously. I would have judged the first home as excellent although very expensive, but Montfort Manor is head and shoulders above.
They have great facilities, all the staff truly care, the place is like a four-star hotel. Still far from cheap but about £400 per week cheaper than previous.

If you place your elderly relative here they will be truly looked after and you can rest easy knowing that they are in good hands.

Having accepted that my husband needed specialist round the clock care that I was unable to provide at home, I have not been disappointed in my decision in choosing Montfort Manor for him.
The staff are passionate about what they do whatever area they are working in, and all pull together to give the residents the best day to day living experience that they can.
There's always some fun activity going on for the residents to get involved with if they so wish or one to one time if a resident prefers this.
The staff are amazing. They not only exhibit kindness and respect but also inject the right amount of humour making it a happy place to be.

From a relative's perspective, I was welcomed on day one when I turned up unannounced to look around, and I have felt supported ever since by all levels of staff.

My mother moved into Montfort Manor in November 2019. The whole initial viewing and registering was made easy and straightforward. All the staff have been warm and caring to her and they have made it a pleasure for me to visit. The home is a delight; so new, bright and airy and with wonderful activities - it’s a joy. Well done to all the staff especially in this difficult last year. Thank you.

My dad moved into Montfort Manor after spending 14 weeks very unwell in hospital. He settled in straight away and it soon became clear that we had chosen the right place for him. The staff are extremely caring and appear to have a passion for their job. The surroundings and facilities are second to none. The food is excellent and menus are varied and to suit individuals. The activities arranged for the residents are well thought out. During the summer the cheese and wine afternoons were a particular favourite. Relatives are encouraged to be part of the 'family' and are valued. During Covid, I have felt that dad has been very safe and extremely well looked after. Staff have always been willing to go the extra mile.

They have been great to my dad and really look after him well. He has been in this facility since December last year, and I have never had cause for complaint. Since COVID, they have done everything in their power to keep the users safe and sound, and they have done a great job so far.

My dad has been at Montford Manor since it opened last year straight from hospital after major surgery. He had been in another care home temporarily for 3 months previous to this after a long stay in hospital. Despite dad’s complicated post-op recovery and numerous re-admissions, he settled in well. I have been so impressed by the positive attitude and care of all staff- from reception, maintenance, catering and of course the nurses/carers/ents staff. Dad is safe, well-fed, encouraged to be active and sociable and physically, mentally and emotionally cared for to a very high level. Staff are quick to respond to his needs, encourage independence and keep us informed. As relatives, our input is valued and the relative's meetings are a successful forum for discussion.

Moved Mum here from another UK care provider. Everything from initial visit to discussions about finance was handled with ease. The move has been very straight forward thanks to the entire team at Montford Manor and Mum was welcomed so wonderfully. She was immediately at ease and visibly more relaxed than at her previous care home. The staff have gone that extra mile to make her feel at home, as have we. Being told to treat Montford as our home too was wonderful to hear. Within 24 hours of my mother arriving I know she is better cared for and respected by all the staff. Coupled with a wonderful environment, glorious food and staff who have a clear passion for what they do, we simply couldn't have asked for more.

Joanne EatonJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2022

I joined Care UK in 2022 having known the company to have a very good reputation for providing high-quality care and putting residents and their needs first. Care UK to me is about quality both for residents and families as well as colleagues.

I have been working as a Home Manager in care homes for the past 8 years, a role which requires good communication skills, compassion, and empathy, whilst being able to multitask.

I was a finalist in the Care Home Manager Awards in 2020. Although I didn’t win, it was an honour to have been nominated and picked to be a finalist.

My favourite part of each day is walking around the home, making sure residents are happy and safe. There is always someone to have a chat with.

There is nothing that I enjoy more than working in a good team for the best interests of the residents, helping them to be happy and enjoy their twilight years.
