Overall Experience
Mom moved to Montfort Manor for end of life care and had nothing but loving, highly professional care. Every member of staff was wonderful. The ward cleaner was so caring and supportive, the care staff gentle and respectful, the nursing staff totally amazing. The team made a very difficult time so much easier. The only difficulty was not anything due to the ward staff, but communication with the hospice outreach team wasn't great. The ward staff and the family had to work hard to make that aspect okay.

While my sister and I had all this going on, all the Montfort Manor staff (reception, management, ward staff) cared for us too. They were supportive and gentle and we can't thank them enough.

I have been a resident here since January 2023, this followed a three week stay in the hospital. I had a serious fall at home on December 13th 2022, whereby I fractured my skull and two vertebrae, necessitating wearing a neck collar. The care and understanding I have received here has been exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble and if there is a problem it is dealt with professionally and immediately. This week my consultant has discharged me, saying I have made an amazing recovery. This I attribute to the respite time I have enjoyed, which has allowed me to come to terms with a physical and traumatic, emotional experience. I cannot praise the staff enough. They obviously enjoy their work, operating as a team and exhibiting much dedication.

The customer relations manager, who is your first point of contact, was/is excellent. The lifestyle team are amazing - always something fun going on. The nursing staff are caring. Care assistants, domestic staff and hairdresser were supportive and attentive. The reception team are amazing, supportive and on the ball. I recommend this home to everyone I come into contact with.

I always feel I can approach the staff and management if I have any concerns. On the downside. Occasionally, it can take several attempts to get through on the phone or to locate a member of staff if I have an enquiry, but at the same time, I understand the issues at present of recruiting into the care industry and the extreme pressure this places on staffing levels. Monfort Manor is always clean, tidy and welcoming.

First visit, lovely experience, caring, considerate and brilliant interaction with clients, especially dementia. Played volleyball in the communal room, fun, interactive, fitness and signing, made us laugh and cry with emotion. Wish we could afford this for my 90-year-old mother who is totally dependent on three times a day carers coming to her home.

My mum has dementia and has mood swings which must be difficult for staff at times but she is well cared for and has got to know the nurses and carers well now. She is now getting more confident and joining in with activities and feeling more settled which is very pleasing!

All the team seem really lovely and always speak well to Mum and inform us of how she is doing.

I have been a regular entertainer at Montfort Manor for about 3 years now and I have to say it is always an absolute pleasure. Every member of staff give 100% level of care and compassion towards the residents. This reflects in the residents well being and happiness which in turn makes them settled and shows in beautiful smiles on their faces.
I am proud to be associated with Montfort Manor and proud to be a part of their family.

Highly recommended for a loved one's well-being.

My dad had a bit of a hard time excepting having to go into care. He was moved a few times to homes that weren’t suitable to his needs. Then he went to Montfort and everything changed. He's very happy there and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Wouldn’t want him anywhere else.

Our father recently passed away at Montford Manor where he had been a resident for some time. He was always cared for well and loved the staff as his extended family, he appreciated all the help and kindness which they showed him. He revelled in the company and thoroughly enjoyed the food, particularly the lovely cakes. My brother and I appreciated the kindness and help they showed us and how hard everyone tried to make the most of the situation throughout the lockdowns. Dad lived a very happy and fulfilled life at Montford Manor and was in a safe and cared for place where we knew his best interests were always considered. When he became ill he was nursed with kindness and dignity and was in a peaceful and comfortable room with constant care. We were deeply moved to be able to welcome so many of the staff to the funeral and to hear more about Dad's exploits in his final home, we will always consider them friends and would recommend their gentle care without reservation.

My mum came to Montfort Manor after a fall at home when she fractured her hip. She was extremely confused and anxious at the time, since her time at Montford Manor, she broke her other hip, which couldn't be prevented as she did;t know day from night and forgot that she couldn't get out of bed without assistance to walk. Since her recovery she is a lot more relaxed mostly, making more sense at times, thanks to the lovely staff and management at Montfort Manor.

Mum has been at Montfort Manor for 2-years now. She moved in after numerous falls and the realisation that she needed care. She has Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. Recently her Dementia has begun to take over, and it's difficult watching the deterioration. However, the staff have been so supportive of mum and me. The home itself is beautiful, clean and welcoming. The staff are all helpful, and it's clear they are all committed to their roles. Mum is safe and very well cared for.

Joanne Eaton
Joanne EatonJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2022

I joined Care UK in 2022 having known the company to have a very good reputation for providing high-quality care and putting residents and their needs first. Care UK to me is about quality both for residents and families as well as colleagues.

I have been working as a Home Manager in care homes for the past 8 years, a role which requires good communication skills, compassion, and empathy, whilst being able to multitask.

I was a finalist in the Care Home Manager Awards in 2020. Although I didn’t win, it was an honour to have been nominated and picked to be a finalist.

My favourite part of each day is walking around the home, making sure residents are happy and safe. There is always someone to have a chat with.

There is nothing that I enjoy more than working in a good team for the best interests of the residents, helping them to be happy and enjoy their twilight years.
