other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My mum has dementia and has mood swings which must be difficult for staff at times but she is well cared for and has got to know the nurses and carers well now. She is now getting more confident and joining in with activities and feeling more settled which is very pleasing!
All the team seem really
lovely and always speak well to Mum and inform us of how she is doing.

I have been a regular entertainer at Montfort Manor for about 3 years now and I have to say it is always an absolute pleasure. Every member of staff give 100% level of care and compassion towards the residents. This reflects in the residents well being and happiness which in turn makes them settled
and shows in beautiful smiles on their faces.
I am proud to be associated with Montfort Manor and proud to be a part of their family.

We celebrated Mum's 89th birthday with a family get-together in the cinema and bar area, the catering was wonderful with birthday cake made especially for Mum, we all had a lovely time. A big thank you to everyone who made Mum’s day so special. Our love to everyone at Montfort.

My dad had a bit of a hard time excepting having to go into care. He was moved a few times to homes that weren’t suitable to his needs. Then he went to Montfort and everything changed. He's very happy there and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Wouldn’t want him anywhere else.

Our father recently passed away at Montford Manor where he had been a resident for some time. He was always cared for well and loved the staff as his extended family, he appreciated all the help and kindness which they showed him. He revelled in the company and thoroughly enjoyed the food, particularly
the lovely cakes. My brother and I appreciated the kindness and help they showed us and how hard everyone tried to make the most of the situation throughout the lockdowns. Dad lived a very happy and fulfilled life at Montford Manor and was in a safe and cared for place where we knew his best interests were always considered. When he became ill he was nursed with kindness and dignity and was in a peaceful and comfortable room with constant care. We were deeply moved to be able to welcome so many of the staff to the funeral and to hear more about Dad's exploits in his final home, we will always consider them friends and would recommend their gentle care without reservation.

My mum came to Montfort Manor after a fall at home when she fractured her hip. She was extremely confused and anxious at the time, since her time at Montford Manor, she broke her other hip, which couldn't be prevented as she did;t know day from night and forgot that she couldn't get out of bed without
assistance to walk. Since her recovery she is a lot more relaxed mostly, making more sense at times, thanks to the lovely staff and management at Montfort Manor.

Mum has been at Montfort Manor for 2-years now. She moved in after numerous falls and the realisation that she needed care. She has Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. Recently her Dementia has begun to take over, and it's difficult watching the deterioration. However, the staff have been so supportive
of mum and me. The home itself is beautiful, clean and welcoming. The staff are all helpful, and it's clear they are all committed to their roles. Mum is safe and very well cared for.

We moved Mum to Montfort Manor almost 2 years ago, after poor standards of care at another home. Mum's dementia gave her a couple of annoying habits, but the staff were amazing, always keeping an eye on her so that she didn't cause distress to other residents, and finding things to try and keep her
interested and occupied. We went through the difficult period of either no, or very restrictive, visiting during the COVID lock-downs but the home reacted to all Government advice with sense and compassion and always kept me informed of Mum's daily life. Mum suffered a stroke about four months ago and was then moved to the nursing floor where she received excellent care and died there last month, very quietly and peacefully in her sleep. One of the best things about Montfort Manor, compared to other care homes, is that they have qualified nurses, both on the management team and in charge of the various floors. Our family cannot thank the home enough for the care they gave our mother.

Mum went to Montfort for a respite 3 weeks, having been home alone for over a year, recently widowed and diagnosed with dementia. From Day 1, she settled straight in and the loneliness and stress of living alone suddenly went away. She has become a different person. She has regained her confidence,
has been able to sit and have conversations, she has been eating properly and keeping hydrated. She is also taking part in daily activities and generally looking after herself again. She has now become a permanent resident, feeling safe and cared for. For me, the experience has been stressful but for the first time in a long time, I can now visit my mother as her daughter and spend some quality time with her, rather than visit her as a carer. This is all solely down to the amazing staff at Montfort. They have not only changed my mum's life but also changed mine. They are all extremely friendly and loving and treat my mother as if she's the only resident. I will never be able to thank them enough.

My mum was admitted to Montfort Manor for end of life care after having been in hospital for six weeks. From the time she arrived to the time she passed, she received amazing care. Nothing was too much trouble for the fantastic nursing team, as well as the receptionists and all the other staff. They
looked after me and my family just as well and demonstrated constant kindness and compassion. I cannot thank them enough for making an extremely difficult and challenging time more bearable.

I’m not sure the team at Montfort Manor will ever quite know what a difference they made to our dad’s last few days. I am so, so grateful he was able leave the hospital and be in their care.


The home itself is absolutely beautiful. A real home from home, and the staff (every single one of them) from

management down were nothing short of amazing. You could tell they really, really cared at every step and we are eternally grateful for all they did for us.


Everything from the room itself to the meals, to the care provided (and I’m sure the activities, some of which we read about) were absolutely second to none.


If you are reading this review wondering if Montfort is the best place for your loved one, even in difficult times, please don’t hesitate.

In what was a very tough time for our family in Dad's last days, I cannot thank all the staff at Montford Manor for their kindness and care in a quiet and lovely environment.


Every member of staff we dealt with was professional and genuinely caring. We know it made Dad more comfortable and helped

us be with him to the end.


I will never forget Dad's final days and they were made as good as they could be for him.

My husband was admitted for end of life care to this wonderful home. It felt like a 5 star hotel rather than a nursing home.
The staff were amazing, kind, compassionate and caring.
He passed away peacefully in his sleep and although I was not present, I know he was not alone.
I have called back
once since he passed and was welcomed. I look forward to be able to volunteer in the future.

I would like to express my gratitude to the team at Montfort Manor for helping my family during a very difficult period. My father lost his mobility and could no longer care for himself whilst living in France and needed to come back to the UK for full-time nursing care. After calling a long list of
care homes, Montfort Manor was the only home receptive to helping us resolve our challenge, and actively helped us find the solution so that I could safely send my father home. As it was on a temporary basis which ended up as being 3 months, I was in constant contact with the team and social services over this period while we found his permanent place. Excellent communication, problem-solving and a supportive ear helped our family navigate what would be a challenge during normal times, but seemed initially impossible during Covid. A huge thank you to the whole team and in particular my contact in the customer support team who was always patient, helpful and good humoured.

After visiting many homes and feeling very apprehensive. I approached Montfort Manor and was instantly impressed with the facilities and quality of the home.
The staff are first class, especially the lifestyle team.
Mum is safe and very well looked after.
Most importantly Mum is happy and has a better
quality of life in Montfort.

Montfort Manor have really made waves in the caring community.
My grandmother has been in their care for 6 months now and they have gone above and beyond to care and look after her. Our grandmother is very happy and always has great things to say about the staff and facilities. She has really come
out of her shell and has even taken up dancing since becoming a resident at Montfort Manor, something that our family has never seen our grandmother do!
She is always happy, smiling, laughing and joking and we have really seen her personality blossom despite her condition, which again is very pleasing for our family. Our grandmother is our biggest treasure and it was an arduous task to find somewhere that we thought could care for her as well as we did but the staff at Montfort Manor have more than exceeded our expectations and continue to do so on a day to day basis.
Montfort Manor is truly deserved of the name 'Manor' and there is nowhere else we would rather our grandmother be.

I am judging Montfort Manor against another care home that my mother was in previously. I would have judged the first home as excellent although very expensive, but Montfort Manor is head and shoulders above.
They have great facilities, all the staff truly care, the place is like a four-star hotel.
Still far from cheap but about £400 per week cheaper than previous.
If you place your elderly relative here they will be truly looked after and you can rest easy knowing that they are in good hands.

Having accepted that my husband needed specialist round the clock care that I was unable to provide at home, I have not been disappointed in my decision in choosing Montfort Manor for him.
The staff are passionate about what they do whatever area they are working in, and all pull together to give
the residents the best day to day living experience that they can.
There's always some fun activity going on for the residents to get involved with if they so wish or one to one time if a resident prefers this.
The staff are amazing. They not only exhibit kindness and respect but also inject the right amount of humour making it a happy place to be.
From a relative's perspective, I was welcomed on day one when I turned up unannounced to look around, and I have felt supported ever since by all levels of staff.

My mother moved into Montfort Manor in November 2019. The whole initial viewing and registering was made easy and straightforward. All the staff have been warm and caring to her and they have made it a pleasure for me to visit. The home is a delight; so new, bright and airy and with wonderful activities

My dad moved into Montfort Manor after spending 14 weeks very unwell in hospital. He settled in straight away and it soon became clear that we had chosen the right place for him. The staff are extremely caring and appear to have a passion for their job. The surroundings and facilities are second to
none. The food is excellent and menus are varied and to suit individuals. The activities arranged for the residents are well thought out. During the summer the cheese and wine afternoons were a particular favourite. Relatives are encouraged to be part of the 'family' and are valued. During Covid, I have felt that dad has been very safe and extremely well looked after. Staff have always been willing to go the extra mile.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2022

I joined Care UK in 2022 having known the company to have a very good reputation for providing high-quality care and putting residents and their needs first. Care UK to me is about quality both for residents and families as well as colleagues.


I have been working as a Home Manager in care homes for the past 8 years, a role which requires good communication skills, compassion, and empathy, whilst being able to multitask.


I was a finalist in the Care Home Manager Awards in 2020. Although I didn’t win, it was an honour to have been nominated and picked to be a finalist.


My favourite part of each day is walking around the home, making sure residents are happy and safe. There is always someone to have a chat with.


There is nothing that I enjoy more than working in a good team for the best interests of the residents, helping them to be happy and enjoy their twilight years.
