Overall Experience
My mother was one of the first residents to move into Speedwell Court. There were a few 'teething problems' to begin with which was to be expected but these have been mainly overcome.

All staff are very caring and friendly. To start with the dementia and non-dementia residents were together which was difficult, but they were separated after three months and will continue to be so.

Thank you for your review, we appreciate all your thoughts. We are delighted to have both our Residential and our Residential Dementia care Households open and occupied, we are looking forward to welcoming new residents over the future months. And with all our Communal activity and social areas, it is great for our residents to socialise at our varied events and activities.

Mum has stayed at two previous homes prior to Speedwell. Speedwell is a caring home from home with a 5-star hotel feel. The staff are the most caring, well-trained people. Mum is the happiest she has been here. Her medical needs are sorted and kept on top of.
We can't recommend highly enough the staff and facilities at Speedwell.

Certain staff members are amazing.

My mother-in-law was reluctant to have her hair done at the home but after some persuasion she did. The hairdresser did a wonderful job and my mother-in-law is so pleased.

Overall Experience

My mother settled in very quickly due to the excellent care and attention from the staff. Always a worry when a parent needs care that family needs help with. The home is bright, has a calm atmosphere and high levels of cleanliness. A good selection of food on the menu, every need catered for. Thank you all for your help and updates, keeping us informed when times arise.

Thank you for your lovely review, we have really enjoyed your Mum staying with us and we have got to know your Dad really well too as he has really enjoyed coming in to the Café, taking part in the activities and spending quality time with your Mum rather than worrying about all the care and meals. We look forward to seeing you all again at our Community Café and other events.

Overall Experience

We were initially nervous about how our mother would adapt as she has been living in a large 4 bedroom house. However, I have been hugely impressed at the individual care my mother has received and the kindness and compassion with which she has been helped to settle in. She already loves her new home at Speedwell Court. The staff are highly trained, the atmosphere, also for visiting family, extremely welcoming and friendly. Thank you!

I have worked in the care sector for over 13 years which includes helping thousands of families across the South West to source appropriate care for their loved ones, I know how difficult it is to choose the right care package or care home.

I was pleased to join the team at Speedwell Court in the summer of 2023. My job is to welcome new residents and enquiries and discuss care options either now or in the future.

When I am not working I enjoy live music, reading, being in the great outdoors, gardening and spending time with family
