other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

My father has now been at Millers Grange for over two years. He has made many friends among the staff and residents and is always happy and busy. I never have to worry as I know all his many needs are being catered for in a kind and respectful manner.
His favourite pastimes have included outings in
the minibus to garden centres and musical concerts. He also had the opportunity to meet a shetland pony and hear all about her which he delighted in telling us. He is regularly attending classes in poetry, cooking, completing crossword puzzles and exercising in his wheelchair.
For his ninety-ninth birthday the chef made his favourite victoria sponge to share with everyone and my husband and I stayed to eat a three-course superb lunch with him. In the evening his great-granddaughter came to have a special tea with him and us. The whole family visited him on the day and we were all made to feel extremely welcome.
We continue to be extremely grateful that we chose Millers Grange to be his home.

Dad sometimes looks a tad unshaven and a bit scruffily dressed, otherwise all ok.
We know he needs repeated encouragement to get involved in the activities laid on and hence we appreciate the efforts made by staff to get him involved.

My siblings and I were looking for somewhere that could provide Mum with a safe environment and with the opportunity to socialise, having spent the last 8 years since our father passed away living on her own. We settled on Millers Grange after visiting and listening to the recommendations of others
who knew the home and have not been disappointed. The whole process of moving Mum into Millers Grange was handled with efficiency and sensitivity, and the care that she has received since moving in has been exemplary. I have been pleasantly surprised at how well Mum has adapted to her new surroundings and the number of activities she is participating in, which must in part be due to the encouragement of the staff and the warm and friendly environment that they have created.

I don’t have much to compare Millers Grange against, but what I see in person, on the website and what we hear, residents are at the centre of everything. There are days out and activities in the home with a full menu of things to do. Although Dad is not a real mixer, he has enjoyed a lot of what’s
on offer. We are confident he is being treated well; he’s warm, well fed and being looked after in his later life just as we want him to be.

Being an 85-year-old lady it is reassuring to visit Millars Grange, as I do reasonably often, and see care staff carrying out their duties whilst interacting with the residents. Although they are very busy they appear to answer the endless calls on their time with a smile, a kind word or maybe just
hold an outstretched hand, Doing in fact what one would expect to receive at home because, in fact, it is home and even second home for the bright cheerful care staff. A warm friendly place that is bright and clean. Lovely well constructed menus and delicious snacks and drinks if one is feeling peckish. Lots of activities going on each week and even trips out and about in the community. A cinema as well! Caring management and care staff and of course everyone else that makes Millars Grange your Home from Home.

My brother has been in millers grange for the last two months and I have nothing but praise for the way he has been treated while living there.At first I was worried about him being there, but after about two weeks he was saying he was staying. My brother in law moved into Millers Grange in September after struggling to look after himself at home and after a hospital stay.
When we went to meet him on arrival we were amazed what a wonderful Care home it is. Lots of lovely staff, who are always available to answer any questions. My brother
in law is so happy there and has settled well in the home. He had been very reluctant to go for months, but once there he is so happy now, when we visit. I have never been anywhere with so many staff who greet us as though we are their relatives, nothing is too much trouble for them. There is an area on arrival called the Cafe and where the residents meet up for different activities and where we are made welcome, to have tea,coffee,cakes and biscuits etc.We usually make our own and wash up as well as we feel part of the family. Wonderful place to live. The decor is a happy theme, lovely furniture , no smells, and just a first class care home. Well done Millers Grange

As soon as I walked into Millers Grange, the welcome was very friendly. The building is bright and energizing, tastefully and skillfully decorated and provides a beautifully relaxing environment.


The staff are kind and friendly, and very attentive to the individual care needs of residents and their

families.


The Life Story book for incoming residents is an excellent tool for staff in getting to know the residents. In the case of my mother, who cannot speak, this was particularly reassuring as it not only prepped the staff on getting to know the person, but it reduced the anxiety over communication challenges, along with the move.


The leadership team and staff have been excellent. The home is engaging, positive and full of life.

My mother moved into Miller's Grange a few weeks ago. Having had experience of another home for the past few years I had really wanted Mum to get to Miller's Grange. They are incredibly helpful, welcoming, and are fully staffed. The difference of having a home that is fully staffed compared to others
is that residents get attention when they need it and nothing seems like too much trouble. The food is exceptional, the home itself is beautifully decorated and very clean. The home is new so there are no difficulties getting around from one area to the other. There are activities and I cannot thank the staff enough for making Mum's rather difficult move to a home so much less stressful than it could have been. Thank you for everything.

My aunt us well settled and well looked after. The staff are kind and patient. Thy take the time to care for each person as an individual and are very friendly. My aunt has prospered in the home with the care that she receives, There are lots of activities to do and the residents always seem happy.

I am really happy with how Mum has settled into Miller's Grange.
There are activities 7 days a week which the residents are invited to go to and there is a weekly newsletter - it's great to see Mum involved and socialising in the photos.
There is a lovely cafe area as you first walk in and the home
is furnished and decorated tastefully and thoughtfully throughout.
There is a warm and friendly atmosphere in the home and the staff are helpful and attentive to Mum for which I am very grateful.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2024

I’ve worked in the care sector all my career, initially providing hands-on care, and later in management roles.


I even worked with a previous Prime Minister to improve dementia care standards. While I’m not a political person, it was amazing to provide expertise at that level.


My favourite part of the day is my morning round, when I say hello to all the residents and find out how they’re doing, and ensure they’re ready for a good day. There’s always a buzz about the place.


As well as care expertise, this role demands great teamwork, a listening ear, empathy and the ability to act quickly. This is the residents’ home, so if they, or their family, give us feedback, it’s vital that we’re quick to respond. The same applies to the team. A lot of my role is to support them to develop their strengths and do their best work so they can enhance residents’ lives.
