My father-in-law has been staying at your wonderful facility with fantastic staff. Although he has only recently started his stay, he is already saying he likes Buddleia House. I must admit that it is proving quite difficult for my wife to have her father stopping with you and not at home, however, hopefully, time will ease this issue. A request would be for a regular outing provided by a member of staff for my father-in-law on a weekly basis if possible. Thank you for your continued support and helping my father-in-law settle in.

The staff at Buddleia House make the place. There's a very warm, caring feeling in the home. The manager goes "beyond the call of duty" to help the resident and their families. The staff at Buddleia House make the place. There's a very warm, caring feeling in the home. The manager goes "beyond the call of duty" to help the resident and their families. The staff are great and Buddleia House is new and purpose-built. The interior design is welcoming, colourful and cheery. The seating is in little groups around coffee tables, not chairs round the outside of the room. There's a large lounge, garden room, snug and bar and jolly café. Pictures everywhere. Gardens with herbs, flowers, vegetables and chickens. A Montessori ethic. A great place for people with dementia.

June 2019 my Nana passed away and my grandad, who is 98 years old, had to go into a home. With living in Hucknall myself, my parents wanted him to be closer to family. Visiting Buddleia House I knew this was the place. With previously being a care worker myself but working a different side to it I knew there was something special about the home/staff. Whenever I visited Grandad the staff would ask me what he was like, his interests, behaviour etc., so they could give him the best care he was used to and needed, they also weren't afraid to approach when something was concerning them. Seeing how happy my Grandad is has made me see the staff at Buddleia House as more family than just carers looking after him.

A wonderful social, interactive, vibrant home. Nothing is too much trouble. Staff are always very welcoming on family visits. There is humour, respect, energy and genuine care on staff and management's part to make each day worthwhile and inclusive. Mum has only been there a few weeks and I have noticed a remarkable uplift in her spirits. She tells me she feels "safe" and that all the staff are "very good to her". The café is homely and tables properly set. The bar is genius!
There is music, song and celebration (regular "themed days") to be highly recommended.

I have always known that I would find myself caring for others. At 19 I left college and worked in a few different social care settings before finding my passion in dementia care. I started as a care assistant and found myself as a Home Manager at 24 years old and haven't looked back since. I adore empowering people - residents and staff alike.
I am delighted to have joined Milford Care, as I have wanted to be part of Milford Care for some time now; I visited Buddleia House on its open day back in 2019 and I adore the home.’
