Our mum moved into Hazel End after spending a few weeks in hospital to have some respite care. Mum settled in very quickly and was made to feel welcome by staff and residents alike. She said it was like staying in a hotel as the standard was so high! She particularly enjoyed the food and having her
hair done and nails painted. After a long period of illness and lockdown she really enjoyed the company of the carers and other residents. Mum is now well enough to live in her own home but if our situation changed again our family would not hesitate in using Hazel End again. The facilities are exceptional and the staff are friendly, caring and professional.

Great care home that looked after my mother for six weeks as she was no longer able to care for herself in her own home. Newly built, excellent facilities and caring staff who were helpful from day one.

This was my nan's third care home. She had previously been unable to settle and adjust to life in a care home which leads to her becoming less mobile, more isolated and often very confused.
Since she has been at Hazel End Care Home she has, for the first time, settled and is the happiest she has been
for a very long time. Staff have encouraged her to mix with other residents and to become more mobile. Nan can be quite outspoken and difficult at times but all the staff remain professional, kind, caring, tolerant and always have a great sense of humour which is very much needed when caring for my nan. The management and staff here are both experienced and dedicated, they work tirelessly to support both the residents and their families.
The facilities and furnishings are fabulous and designed specifically with the residents in mind.
Everyone at Hazel End always go over and above, I couldn't think of a better place for my nan to be.

The staff are very friendly, helpful, and always go above and beyond for my dad.
The home itself is fantastic, and the facilities are brilliant. There are lots of nice different areas for me and my dad to visit and have that private time if we wish.
The food always looks incredible, and it's nice

My grandmother moved into the home in February, and I cannot commend the staff enough. Nothing is too much trouble.
We visited several homes before choosing Hazel End, and whilst the facilities are second to none; it is the caring staff that makes the home.

My Uncle stayed at Hazel End for two weeks of respite care in January. The staff instantly made him feel very welcome and were supportive the whole way through. Every time I visited I was also made to feel very welcome, the staff were so pleasant and couldn't do enough for us. My Uncle was encouraged
to join in all activities and it was nice to know when I wasn't there lots of things were going on and he had staff to comfort him (also my cousin, in particular, was at ease and could enjoy her holiday knowing her dad was in a safe, friendly place). The facilities at the home are amazing, we liked the sky bar in particular and the tea room was always a nice to place to sit and have a drink and slice of cake or a pastry. My only comment would be that there wasn't a decaf tea option, unfortunately, however, they did advise they would place these on their order. My Uncle will definitely be staying here again when required - and I look forward to the warm environment and possibly a decaf tea!

Hazel End Care Home is a modern home from home. The care, love and attention that my aunt receives is second to none. She is treated like a friend, not just a resident. An excellent choice for my Fathers first respite care break. Dad really enjoyed being made a fuss of, and I felt very happy in leaving him in such capable and caring hands. The senior carer who got Dad settled in had a wonderful way with us and made the whole experience pleasant.
The quality of the
rooms, food and general surrounds is first class, this is a newly opened care home that has been finished to a very high standard indeed.
All the caring staff seem to really work well as a team and are very helpful, providing a personal touch during Dad's stay.
Points for improvement would be, communication at the first level, several of my emails and a couple of calls not returned. Payment by bank transfer or cheque only, waiting on a receipt for payment, very limited, TV channels with no cable in rooms, check-in procedure lengthy due to duplicate questions from when Dad was first assessed. Was asked to provide coat hangers(they found some in the end).
Other than the above: Excellent.

My Name is Claire Sparks and I am the Home Manager at Hazel End Care Home,


I have worked in care for 9 years starting off in the community and then coming to Hazel End just before we opened our doors.


Prior to working in care, I worked in the hospital as a domestic and one lady thanked me for supporting her and she sadly passed away. This really made me rethink and I was proud of myself for supporting her and had a sense of fulfilment for how grateful she was.


I started working at Hazel End as a Senior Carer, I progressed to Deputy Manager then Care Manager and now Home Manager. I have learnt so much working at Hazel End Care Home and progressed within the home. I'm proud to support our residents and make each day enjoyable living with us.

My name is Kerry Jeffrey and I am a Team Leader at Hazel End Care Home.


I started working in the care sector 15 years ago after seeing the support my dad had from the nursing team before he passed away. I felt I wanted to give something back to the community and joined a local care team working in the community as a senior carer and then as an area lead. I then moved onto the local hospital working on the wards as an assistant but wanted to get back to the care side of things, so went back out into the community with a hospital at home team until Covid struck. I then applied to work at Hazel End Care Home as a senior carer. This was my first time in a care home, and I loved the close-knit teamwork that you get compared to being out on your own.


I have now been at Hazel End for 4 years and in that time, I have worked my way up to Deputy Manager. When taken over by Anchor I took on the role of Team Leader so I was able to support staff daily on the floor. I like the position I am in as it gives me the opportunity to be a role model for new starters.
