We have found the staff very approachable, kind, knowledgable and patient. The food is excellent and plentiful. The rooms are kept clean as are the public areas. Occasionally there is a smell of urine which is hard to keep on top of, we are aware laundry is efficient. We feel my mother is well looked
after.

Mum has now been a resident for 6 months and we have been really pleased at how well she is. The staff have always been very sensitive to what was a very hard decision for Mum and made the transition smooth and supportive. Staff are friendly and respond to communication very well. Visiting is easy and
it is clear that Mum is cared for with patience and friendliness. Mum is not pushed into activities but there is a good range of potential events for a variety of interests. Any issues have been dealt with well. The location of the home is great for visits.

Both my mum and dad, who have dementia, came to St Lauras nearly a year ago.
I am just so very happy, reassured and comfortable with the care they both receive. They are at different stages of dementia, and therefore, receive individual care to suit them personally. I receive updates all the time so
I know exactly how they are.
I have therefore rated St Lauras accordingly.

From her very first day at St Lauras, my mum has been treated with so much kindness, empathy and warmth. I am so grateful to all of the team for their hard work and dedication. There is nothing I could suggest for improvement, and I have never had any reason to worry or complain about my mum's care
and experience. In addition, the friendliness and welcoming attitude towards relatives (including children and dogs!) means that there is a wonderful feeling of community that extends beyond residents. Thank you!

My mother-in-law has settled very well at St Laura, she is happy and well cared for, which we can see every time we visit. All the staff are friendly and welcoming from the manager, carers, and domestic staff. Due to the language barrier, the carers go out of their way to look up phrases so that they
can communicate with her. She is engaging in the daily activities and we have often seen her singing and dancing with a carer when we visit. Her eating is a bit of an issue due to her taste buds changing and the carers often ask what her favourite foods are and accommodate accordingly. All the staff are very approachable and always greet us with a smile. Having worked in care myself, I know how care should be delivered, and so far I am very impressed and feel confident that my mother-in-law is in the right place. One of the carers stayed over their shift at 8 pm, talking to us on a visit about my mother-in-law and asking questions so she could learn more to help care for her better.

My nan has been at St Laura's for over a year. I struggled at first with letting go and allowing strangers to care for her as she is my world. But over a year later she is settled and she's happy and loves all the staff. I spend a lot of time there so I do get to see what goes on day to day, this helps
me get a genuine view of how the staff are with the residents. So far I haven't come across any negativity towards any residents, they're all treated with respect and everyone is like a big family. They have regular trips out and activities. They have continental style 3 days a week (croissants/fruit ) hot breakfast most days and residents can request anything specific to their needs. My nan is always well dressed, clean and showered every day. She's always encouraged to join in with activities to try and keep her busy.
The manager is one of the most caring people I have ever met, she's always there if I need to vent and will listen to any concerns/ideas, I promise you won't regret choosing St.Laura's

We have used St Laura's Care Home several times for respite care for Mum over the last couple of years. It is such a warm and friendly atmosphere and Mum always feels so welcome as the staff are delighted to see her each time. As it was only built a few years ago, St Laura's has all the facilities Mum
needs to be comfortable. The management and staff have all been so thoughtful and caring while looking after Mum, especially with her dementia and mobility issues. It's always reassuring to know she's so well looked after when I need to take a break.

The staff at St Lauras are kind and attentive, whether it's assisting with daily tasks or simply offering a friendly smile with a cup of tea and a listening ear, they go above and beyond to ensure the comfort and well-being of all residents. The purpose-built building is clean and provides a warm and
welcoming environment for residents. My mother enjoys the cosy and comfortable communal areas which are scattered around. The grounds offer a peaceful retreat for residents to enjoy. One of the standout features of the care home is the wide range of activities available to residents. From arts and crafts to fitness classes and outings, there's something for everyone to enjoy. It's clear that a lot of thought and effort goes into planning these activities. Overall, I couldn't be more impressed with St Lauras. My mother has taken to living at what she proudly calls her home and we are extremely impressed with the caring and supportive environment she is fortunate to experience.

A huge thank you to all the staff at St Lauras for the care and attention they have shown my mother-in-law since arriving there a couple of months ago.
The staff were keen to get to know her which, in turn, helped her settle in quite quickly. Seeing her get involved in the activities showed us that
she was feeling confident in her new home. This in turn made us feel confident that she was well cared for.
Staff are keen to ensure she enjoys her food and work closely with the chef, who is only too pleased to provide an alternative if she does not fancy what she ordered.
We know it’s early days for our relative but we believe the great start can only lead to a long and happy time at St Lauras. Thank you to the whole team.

We were very impressed with how quickly the team at St Laura’s were able to accommodate our elderly aunt for two weeks respite following a hospital stay. The manager and her team were efficient, friendly and caring whilst making sure our aunt was comfortable. Our family were all made to feel welcome
in the home right from the start. Our Aunt was able to recuperate with all her medical needs being addressed and actually reviewed in a beneficial way for her. She quickly adapted to life in the care home taking delight in telling us about the quizzes or her latest hairdressing appointment. Sadly her time in care was curtailed by underlying health issues and led to an untimely hospital admittance. We received nothing but care, concern and unfortunately heart felt condolences when we lost our beloved auntie. Sometimes you meet someone who makes a real difference with positive impact-we feel this happened when we met the manager so a big thank you especially to her and also to all the team at St Laura’s.

Excellent care and compassion shown towards my Mother. Her first Christmas away from her family and the staff at St Laura's made her feel like Christmas was special. She is receiving very good personal attention and is a lot happier than when she was attempting to look after herself in her own home.

My sister has been living at St Lauras for just over a year and has been looked after very well. Despite her health problems she has been enjoying the activities very much, which has settled her considerably. The meals are exceptionally good, with alternative choices. My sister certainly enjoys meal
times too with the other residents in the dining room. I visit my sister most days and have got to know all the staff very well. Everyone is so kind and always there for the residents and their families. St Lauras has a lovely atmosphere of kindness and genuine care. I am very happy to know that my sister is in good and caring hands. I also attended a dementia field session for the residents' families, which was incredibly beneficial to us all. I was very grateful for this opportunity. A big thank you to all the amazing staff at St Lauras.

Dad has settled in very well, as it was a hard adjustment to leave his lovely cottage. He is very well cared for and the attention to his health needs is excellent. We are notified of any concerns immediately. The carers are very happy and friendly and have lots of banter with Dad, which is lovely to
hear. The food is good, occasionally he doesn't get what he requested, but on the whole it is tasty and good quality and he enjoys sitting with the other residence at meal times having a good natter. It took him several weeks to find his feet, but now he enjoys joining in the activities and has made new friends. I can also bring the dog in to see him and the other residence love making of fuss of her too. I am always made to feel very welcome and the office staff are so lovely and helpful. My brother and I can honestly say we are very happy with the care and support Dad receives, if Dad could manage on his own he would of course prefer to be in his own home, but this is the next best thing.

As with most people, I felt very emotional when my mum went into St Lauras in Kings Langley. I felt as if I had failed her.
It’s turned out to be the best thing I could have done! Mum has settled in very well, thanks to the caring, loving staff who work there. The atmosphere as soon as you enter reception
is warm, welcoming and reassuring. I couldn’t have chosen better!

I am very pleased with the way Dad has settled into St Laura's. The staff are very friendly and we enjoy saying 'hi' to Dad's fellow residents, too. There is a genuinely friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the home. He is well cared for and mostly cheerful. We enjoy sitting in the garden when we visit.
There can be a bit of traffic in the high street but the lovely mature trees make it a relaxing place to sit. Dad also appreciates a birds-eye view of the canopy from his window. His room feels very homely now but we don't often find him in it when we visit - which I think is a good sign. I can't comment on the food, but Dad has said nice things about it and I can vouch for the tea and homemade cake that appear if we time our visit right.

What's excellent about St Lauras! The staff over the past few weeks, I've had the opportunity to see them on a regular basis. They really care for their patients, know them all by name and go out of their way to make sure they eat and drink and are as comfortable as possible and looked after, whatever
they need. Keep it up! That's to take nothing away from the facilities, which are first-class!

Mum spent six weeks at St Lauras for respite care. From the moment she arrived, she was made to feel valued and supported. The staff treated her with respect and dignity. As her family, we were made to feel welcome at all times. They encouraged her independence and helped her when needed. They were
so busy but found time to really care. If things had been different financially, Mum would have stayed. Thank you.

After a short stay in the hospital, our 91-year-old mum, who lives on her own, needed some respite. By chance, we were recommended St Lauras. From the first visit, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the home. The staff are all fantastic, helpful and very caring. The food is a very good standard.
The facilities offered are very impressive. So Mum moved in for a four weeks stay, but she feels so safe and secure she is now a permanent resident! We can totally recommend St Lauras.

My mum moved into St Laura's under very difficult family circumstances, and the care home manager and her staff gave their full support to make Mum's transition from home as smooth as possible with little notice.
St Laura's is situated in the heart of Kings Langley and offers the most wonderful facilities.
Sadly due to the limitations of her illness, coupled with Covid restrictions, Mum did not gain the full benefit of these.
Mum was treated with care and compassion by extremely professional staff throughout her stay. The home offers calm and relaxed surroundings and, more importantly, the residents are treated like extended members of the staff's families and given lots of love and attention.
It is not easy when a loved one goes into care, but we could not have asked for better support from the manager and her team. Thank you for caring.

Job Title: Home Manager

Eme started her career in the care sector at the age of 19. She has undertaken almost every role within a home - from Domestic, Kitchen, and Care Assistant, to Senior Care Assistant and Engagement Lead. Doing so has cultivated her incredible success, as well as her most recent appointment as Home Manager at St Laura's.


From this, and as she tells all of her staff, there are no limits to progression: from responsibility and personal development to training and further education - she empowers the people around her to be the very best that they can be, regardless of their age, health or confidence. And by doing so, they in turn deliver the exceptional care that the home continues to pride itself on.
