They always have time for a chat and a little dance with the residents. The cleanliness is excellent, the food is always freshly cooked and there is always a choice. Always freshly cooked cakes for afternoon tea!
The staff are very kind and caring to all residents!

What a find! We are thrilled with Benson House. We feel reassured knowing Dad is well cared for, well-fed and kept entertained. He is very happy and is constantly praising the lovely staff. There is always someone to check if he wants to join the many activities and to escort him. The staff are exceptionally kind and caring. They even arranged for my dad to continue one of his favourite activities, table tennis, by bringing someone in weekly to play against him. A staff member is always there with him, ready to catch him if he falls! They are so thoughtful and even organised a tea party with cake for his 97th birthday, which really touched him. They are vigilant, constantly checking on him, due to recent falls. The future plans seem inclusive, encouraging resident involvement. Benson House is a beautiful building with lovely gardens and everything has been thought of. Thoroughly recommended.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, Liz. We are so pleased to read your positive comments about your Dad's care at Benson House and it is lovely to hear he is continuing his love for table tennis with us at the home. We're glad he enjoyed his 97th birthday with us and that the tea...
I am in the deepest of gratitude for the compassionate and professional care of my mother at Benson House. On every level, the service is exemplary and all staff, from nursing staff to cleaners, are kind, conscientious and efficient. I could not have asked for a better place for my mother and also for myself - I too, was supported and kept informed at all times of Mum's progress.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, Penelope. We are so pleased to read your positive comments about your mother's care at Benson House and it is lovely to hear that you felt supported well during this time. Your feedback will be passed on to the team who will be delighted with your five-star review.
My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2019. When she was becoming increasingly anxious and life for me too was becoming difficult to contend with, we engaged carers to come in and help with her personal care and to give me brief moments of respite. As her condition worsened, I concluded that residential care would be a better option for temporary respite breaks. The first home we chose ended disastrously and so we continued to look for other suitable homes. Finally, after becoming exhausted and at my wit's end, we looked at Benson House. I held meetings with different members of the management team and we had a home visit so my wife could be assessed. The staff were professional and friendly and, although I drove my wife to Benson House on the first day of her stay with some trepidation, we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. My wife settled in and is happy to return, which is a great endorsement.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are so pleased to read your positive comments about the team at Benson House and we’re glad you both felt welcomed on the first day of your wife’s stay, which we hope helped put your mind at ease. Your feedback has been passed on to the team.
Friends and family described the facilities as "a five-star hotel", meaning we were all keen to visit. It is a warm, welcoming place with lounges and great gardens. The cleaning and maintenance staff are excellent, keeping things tip-top. This rating also applies to the catering who personalise menus.
It was hard for Dad (with dementia) to take part in some activities but with two a day, there is plenty to choose from. He joined things with music or activities came to him in his room.
Staff and management felt like extended family who loved Dad as much as I do. With attention to detail of his behaviour and desires, they kept him safe and clean. As a testament, he had one bedsore in twenty months.
In his final days, the onsite nurses made sure he was peaceful and not in pain. They supported us as much as Dad when he finally died.
100% the right place for Dad.
Nicola, thank you for your kind words and recognition of the team at Benson House. We are so sorry for your loss and we hope we made your dad’s time with us as comfortable and as peaceful as possible. It’s lovely to hear how you describe our home and appreciate that you felt Benson House was the right place for him. Your comments will be passed on to the team.
During her last couple of weeks, the nursing staff made sure that she was made as comfortable as possible and the care staff were always there to reassure her when she was frightened. They treated her as though she was their own mum.
I spent a few nights with Mum when she was particularly poorly and I was always provided with tea and sandwiches etc., asked if there was anything I needed.
There is a happy atmosphere about the place that is so welcoming. I am going to miss Mum a lot. I will also miss my visits to Benson House and everyone who works there as in a short period of time, the staff have become a second family to me and I will miss them all.
We are so sorry for your loss, Karen, and we hope we made your mum’s time with us as comfortable and as peaceful as possible. Thank you for your kind words and recognition of the team, we’re glad your mum received the care she deserved and you’re always welcome to visit us at Benson House. Your comments will be passed on to the team.
My beloved sister was admitted into the home on the 31/7/23. She found it quite hard settling at first due to owning her own home for over 60 years!
She soon became content due to the very friendliness of the staff. They were caring, kind and mostly very good in all aspects of care. I/we could not have asked for a better care home with 24/7. The food is excellent and a lot of variations, and the cakes and biscuits were superb! They also have day trips out if the residents want to go. A hairdresser, chiropodist and many day activities. All the rooms have their own wet rooms washing facilities and toilet.
If you’re looking for a home to place your loved ones then this is the place, look no further.

My wife seemed very content with her stay and happy with staff attendance. Because of her condition, she couldn’t tell me about the activities available. She was happy with the food and service. The room she had was comfortable and clean. She was at Benson House last year and I have booked her in again late September and early October.

My father had to go into this home in the early part of this year, unfortunately, due to his well-being and health concerns. The service we have received, as a family, has been best in class, right from the point time when we enquired about him becoming a resident and this has continued with his care throughout his time here.

It wouldn't surprise me if my mother asks to go back in a few weeks. She is realising that Benson House is a safe, happy and supportive home. But sometimes pride and personality get in the way!
Fingers crossed!

My mother had a short respite stay at Benson House in the middle of February whilst I was away. The care was excellent and I felt relieved to know she was in safe hands. The staff involved in her care were kind and showed great empathy. My mother was able to continue her regular social life by having visitors and family join her for lunches.

The staff at Benson House are incredibly supportive and caring. My mum has Dementia and has been really well looked after since moving into Benson House. She is very frail but the team make every effort to get her out of bed, eat with other residents and be as active as possible. The whole building and rooms are of excellent quality - really well-appointed and thought-through. Everyone on the staff is kind, and considerate and takes time to listen and explain things. The food is excellent, the environment calm and the gardens/landscaping are also great.

My father died in Benson House on March 1st, since then my mother has received such loving care from all the staff it has been fabulous. The key staff really do go above and beyond to ensure that her needs are considered and looked after e.g. her hairdresser coming in especially to do her hair prior to the funeral. We all fell part of the Benson House family.
Thank you for your kind words. Your father was a much-loved member of our home community, and we would like to again send our condolences for your loss. Our team truly put their heart and soul into the care they provide, so to receive such warm and encouraging words from you and that you feel part...
My stay in Benson care home was satisfactory. There was good care and everyone was very kind and helpful. Every effort was made to make me feel comfortable and there were plenty of activities to keep me interested and stimulated.

The staff at Benson House are friendly, supportive and exceptionally kind. My mother has dementia and it was a hard decision to move her into residential care but I have felt supported throughout the process and the care she receives is excellent. The rooms are very attractive, the facilities excellent and there is a beautiful garden. It is an immense relief to know my mother is safe and well cared for and I recommend Benson House without hesitation.
Her respite care was exceptional, she was extremely happy throughout her stay and would return without hesitation.
After a bad experience with another care home, it was such a relief to find a care facility that didn’t just meet but exceeded my requirements for looking after my dear mother.
5 stars are not enough to describe the Benson experience.
Everyone was so kind, patient and helpful. I was made to feel at home very quickly nothing was too much trouble.
I left feeling that I have made lots of lovely new friends, and I hope to see them all again soon.
The food was excellent a great mix of delicious interesting varied dishes.
Thank you so much everyone at Benson House.
