Fenchurch House Care Home

Lovely place, like a five-star hotel. Really good food.

My parents have been residents in the home since it was newly opened and have always been well cared for. Most recently, my mother became end-of-life, and rather than her being moved to the hospital, Fenchurch agreed to continue her care alongside Dad. My sister and I spent eight days sitting at Mum's bedside, and during this time, we were witness to the excellent care and kindness of all of the staff at Fenchurch. The manager and deputy manager went to great lengths to ensure my mum had the best of care. My dad was supported, and all visiting family were supported and looked after. Every staff member supported us fully on Mum's last journey. Thank you all for being amazing.

The home takes great care of my mum who has complex needs. She is unable to speak and the patience of the staff here and the friendliness makes a real difference in a positive way.

A question: It would be better if the home had frequent Pet Therapy dog visits. My mum loves dogs and to see and stroke a dog was a real help.

My wife was transferred from hospital to Fenchurch House on 23rd December 2021 for some respite care after a prolonged 9 week stay in hospital due to waiting for a care home place to become available. When she arrived she looked gaunt and her appearance was distressing to me not having seen her for some 7 weeks due to not being allowed to visit her in the hospital because of Covid-19 restrictions.

Over the course of the next two months, the care and attention provided to my wife by the staff was excellent. The staff had got her back to looking something like her old self. She certainly appeared to be more than happy and making friends with the other residents. Sadly she had to be readmitted to hospital on 26th February 2022 and passed away, unexpectedly, on 28th February.

My sincere thanks to all the staff at Fenchurch House for their excellent work and the kindness extended to my wife during her stay. I would recommend Fenchurch House to anyone seeking a care home for a loved one.

The environment was beautiful and the morale of staff came over as excellent in very difficult times of Covid. Thank you all.

Warm and friendly staff. Helpful. Very well organised. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff go out of their way to help you even if you are a visitor.

Mum was at a different care home and was moved as her mobility decreased. In both homes, she has had excellent care even though occasionally she can be difficult. Now she has a ground floor room and is definitely less stressed and happier.

Don't trust people for DIY testing. Check!

My mother initially went into Fenchurch House Care Home on respite care due the illness of my father. This was in January and was the height of the recent Covid-19 lockdown. The care and compassion shown by the whole team to her on the subsequent death of her husband of over sixty five years was amazing. It was so hard on all of us that we weren't able to be with her but the staff became her family and for this all of us will be eternally grateful. Four months on Mum has settled into her new life in the home. Her individual needs and requirements are all catered for. The staff go out of their way to make all residents feel part of a new family. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. If anyone needs residential care either permanently or as respite this is the place to be.

My mother moved in two weeks ago. The building, bedrooms and communal rooms are of a standard to her own home. She is treated as an independent person but with the safety of the staff. She has felt safe and enjoyed the interaction with other residents and staff. She is not told when to get up or go to bed. he has a choice of meals. The staff are always on hand to help with issues. I am extremely satisfied.

We are very happy to have found Fenchurch Care Home for our Mum. She needed respite care from hospital for 6 weeks, as she has settled in so well and unable to manage by herself at home soi is going to stay full time. Mum loves the food and always tells me there is a choice. The staff are very kind to her and treat her with respect and dignity. Fenchurch is like a 5-star hotel, decorated beautifully and facilities are great. The gardens surrounding the home are landscaped to a very high standard including a summer house.

Fantastic and very helpful. My mum is so much happier here, it’s clean bright and very modern. The staff go above and beyond to help and are all very professional. I would recommend Fenchurch House to everyone.

My mother was placed here for a six-week assessment from the end of January to the beginning of March. Although coronavirus restrictions were in place we were able to see my mother with arranged 'window' visits. Staff facilitated contact via telephone and this worked very well. My mother ate well during her stay and she was very content with everything that was done for her. I found the administration and communications to be excellent. The staff I met showed a great deal of sympathy and empathy with my mother's condition and her subsequent care. I am particularly grateful to the staff for their solicitude and professional manner in dealing with my many enquiries. Also, the manager who was very welcoming. They had clearly gone to some trouble to make my mother comfortable. The home is very new and although I only had a glimpse inside it looked lovely. The grounds and gardens are also beautifully laid out. I would have no hesitation in recommending Fenchurch House for any elderly person.

The care and compassion shown to me has been really gratefully received. The position I have been in has taken me so hard to come to terms with.

I am looked after really well. I am not a social person have never had friends, a product of my upbringing. My parents were very Victorian and discouraged anyone visiting, they were awfully shy and I am also shy. The care home is excellent as are all the carers and staff. Thank you all very much.

My father was taken to Fenchurch Care home by ambulance for end-of-life care. He was extremely ill and unresponsive. Over the weeks he has gradually improved and he can now enjoy lunch in the dining room with the other residents and enjoy the dayroom. Fenchurch provides First class care. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the care they have given my father, I am sure has definitely prolonged his life. He is now happy and comfortable in their care for which I cannot thank them enough and he is able to safely and comfortably enjoy his remaining time on this beautiful planet earth in the beautiful surroundings of Fenchurch care home with the lovely staff they're looking after him.

Encouraged to join in all activities. The food and drink are of a high standard. Very very pleased with the care given. Staff very friendly. Nothing too much trouble. Dad settled well and is happy there.
