Having a family member in care is difficult, but when the care is as amazing as it is at the Launton Grange Care Home, your mind is easily put to rest. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome as a guest visiting, it is immaculate throughout and you just know your family member is in safe
caring hands! It’s home from home and the manager has the best relationship with her staff and residents and you can just tell how much she wants to be there and how it is so much more than a job because of how much she cares. Nothing is too much trouble, she is welcoming and professional and instantly makes you feel safe. This was my third visit and you can see the job the manager is in brings out the best in her, so both her staff team and the residents get the person-centred care they require and need! Today was my god Mum's 81st birthday, the manager came in on her day off she made sure everything was set up and perfect! It was amazing! Highly recommend the Launton Grange care Home, 10/10.

All the staff at Launton Grange are true professionals. The care that they showed to my mother over the two-and-a-half years of her residency was excellent.
The kindness and compassion shown to my mother and the family in her last few months were above and beyond. We will be forever grateful.

My uncle has only been at Launton Grange for a few weeks. He has settled well. It has been a big change for him, but I have seen him more relaxed each time I visit, especially yesterday after he enjoyed his haircut in the salon and a nice glass of wine with lunch. He wasn't keen to move as he was settled
down South in another home, but I now see and feel the move has been just what he needed, and able to see his family much more. Thanks to Launton Grange and all the staff, who are excellent.
Reply from Charlotte Jackson, Customer Care Administrator at Launton GrangeThank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It can sometimes take time for new residents to settle, but we will always do everything we can to learn their needs, wants and interests to make sure that we are the perfect fit for them. In this case, we are so pleased your uncle could settle so quickly.

Dad has been a resident in Launton Grange for the past eight months or so. His care has been excellent. The facilities are first class, the atmosphere is more like a very nice hotel rather than a care home. He is treated with respect and kindness by all the staff and enjoys a full array of activities
and entertainment (a daily film in the cinema room is a highlight for him). We are highly satisfied with his care.
Reply from Charlotte Jackson, Customer Care Administrator at Launton GrangeThank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review, we are so pleased that your dad is happy and settled with us and taking full advantage of the facilities at Launton Grange. Tell him to save some popcorn for us!

I believe my nan has been placed in an environment that is perfect for any dementia patient. The staff are the most welcoming and very kind and loving towards every resident in their care. They support my nan emotionally and physically. Amazing living area, food, and facilities for guests and residents.
5-star quality.

We moved my nan to Launton Grange as we felt she wasn’t being properly cared for at her previous home.
Launton Grange is beautiful, clean, and tidy. All the staff are friendly and caring and couldn’t be more helpful.
The care my nan has received since arriving has made such a difference to her health
and mental well-being.

After an anxious start, my mother-in-law has settled in well, she is still occasionally confused, but the added stimulation of activities surrounding her and including her have helped this process. The staff are all very caring/helpful, and the environment is beautiful.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at Launton GrangeWe know that it can take time for a resident to settle into a home, especially if they are anxious about moving, so we will always do all we can to support and ease them into daily life with us and do everything we can to help them settle. Thank you for letting us know that it works!

Very caring staff, good facilities. To improve I feel that more information could be provided about basic safety e.g about how to respond to fire alarms, (especially in each bedroom) and making sure respite residents are made aware of what is going on each day.

The actual care staff are lovely but they are vastly understaffed to the point that we have safety concerns. Residents are regularly left unattended in the day room while staff are dealing with personal care on wings. The food is good, and very fresh and they do cater for fussy eaters! The laundry is
done regularly and well but items of clothing do go missing on a regular basis. The overall experience is good but could be improved.
Reply from Terri Kidd, PR Executive at Launton GrangeThank you for your feedback. We pride ourselves on giving the very best care to our residents and their loved ones, so we appreciate you getting in touch. Please be assured that our staffing levels are based on the needs of our residents and generally run above the required allocation. The Home Manager at Launton Grange would be more than happy to discuss these concerns with you in person and at your convenience so please do not hesitate to contact her should you wish.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.699)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.699) out of 10 for Launton Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.724 for Launton Grange is calculated as follows: ( (194 Excellents x 5) + (44 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 250 Ratings = 4.724
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Launton Grange is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
