Mum has been a resident at Sedgley Court since December 2022. The staff, management and carers have always been very welcoming and know you by name. My mum is happy there, she feels safe, and the staff are very reassuring. She likes the food and is always offered a choice of meal. When she was taken
ill, the staff were calm and dealt with the situation well. They have a good range of activities on, although doesn't always take advantage of it.

On Tuesday the 12th of December I came to visit for the first time in Sedgley Court a very dear friend. I was very impressed with everything the home has to offer. She seemed very happy and settled with her surroundings. Together with another friend who came with me (who was also extremely impressed).
We were offered coffee and biscuits whilst our friend went on a little walkabout. A member of staff kindly sat with us and chatted as she realised how upset we were at the deterioration of our friend.

From day one of my mom arriving at Sedgley Court, I knew it was the right place for her to be. I guess like many people, Mom took time to settle having just given up her own home and moving from rural Worcestershire. The staff team, whom I can truly say I class as friends, were brilliant from day one.
They always keep us as a family informed of anything to do with Mom's care and wellbeing and have continually gone above and beyond in their care and attention to Mom's needs and desires. Everything is covered, transport provided for medical appointments, “nudges” to remind me of upcoming doctors visits or hospital trips, and some wonderful social events that Mom can get involved in. She so enjoyed the recent bingo night (though she’d tell you that she doesn’t like bingo!) which raised a fantastic amount for a very worthwhile charity. After a year at Sedgley Court, Mom is so settled there and I have nothing but praise for the home manager, front of house manager and the whole of the team.

My grandmother is currently staying at Sedgley Court, she has been a resident for the past three months. I cannot thank Sedgley Court and all the staff enough for how they are looking after my grandmother. My grandmother has dementia, I was worried that she would not like it after leaving her own home,
but she has really settled in and that's down to the care of the staff. Her room is lovely and is kept clean, she has everything she needs and this has given me the relief to know she is safe and well. Meals excellent quality. The chef manages to cater for all the residents, the food is lovely, fresh, homecooked style. My grandmother's health and wellbeing has improved since being in Sedgley Court. All the staff treat my nan with dignity. The home is always so clean and welcoming and there are lots of places my family can sit with my grandmother around the home. The management team are always around to answer any questions. The manager, the front of house manager and another staff member are brilliant.

Mom had stayed in Sedgley Court before in 2022 so when she had to go into a home for palliative care, there was no other home mom and family would consider. Mom loved all the staff and everyone was kind, thoughtful and respectful at all times. Making sure mom was always comfortable and well looked after.
The family cannot thank you all enough.
Even when Mom sadly passed away they still looked after mom with love, respect and dignity.

Mum came for two weeks of residential care whilst we were away on holiday. Pre-visit and induction were helpful in ensuring familiarity before her stay. Mum was warmly welcomed and was very well looked after. She enjoyed the activities on-site and took part in a visit to The Kingswood Trust on a minibus
with other residents. Her room was very comfortable and the lounges and other facilities were excellent. The food was lovely. All the staff were very friendly and Sedgley Court is very well maintained. I was reassured by happy conversations with her while I was away.

I took my mother to see her friend on Monday 26th June, who is a resident for two weeks at Sedgley Court. On arrival, we were greeted by a member of staff at the desk and another member of staff who took us to the floor where my mom's friend was. We were greeted by a senior member of staff on this floor.
We had a tour of the upper floor and were also told about all the facilities that are offered there. We had complementary drinks served; I had a lovely glass of wine. I would like to say what a nice and welcoming place this is. The staff were friendly, and one especially was exceptional who took the time to talk to us and show us around. Unfortunately, I can’t name this member of staff, but hopefully, upon reading this will know who she is!

My sister recently moved to Sedgley Court due to a rapid decline with Alzheimer's. I live in Australia and have not seen her in person for a few years due to Covid and travel restrictions, so I was very concerned about her new home and the level of care provided. I travelled over in February, and all
my worries were quickly dispelled as soon as I walked through the doors at Sedgely. The atmosphere, decor, amenities and general feeling of the place are just like coming home. My sister was relaxed and in good spirits, despite the huge upheaval she has undergone in the last six months - all testament to the outstanding care given at Sedgely Court. I visited every day for the week I was there, and each time, all the staff I encountered were wonderful. They are caring, dedicated and understanding of all the resident's individual needs. I am now back in Australia, and when I speak with my sister, I feel so happy knowing that she is in a lovely place and being looked after by the best.

All the staff are very friendly, approachable and keen to help. The rooms are very comfortable, well laid out, and suit reduced mobility. Dad enjoys joining others for a chat when he wants and also the peace and quiet of his room which has a lovely view of Baggeridge Country Park. Dad is thoroughly
enjoying the quality, tastiness and choice of meals provided. It didn't take long for Dad to settle in to enjoy his surroundings and recover his well-being.

My experience at Sedley Court has been very positive. My father-in-law was admitted in June of this year and was welcomed from the very first day. Staff have made great efforts to get to know him and treat him as an individual. I cannot speak too highly of them. They are friendly, professional and approachable.
There are always interesting activities available for residents.

My mum went in for respite care but sadly deteriorated rapidly. The care she received was excellent, and I know that, in different circumstances, she would have been very happy there. Even in a very short time, I could pick up on the friendly family atmosphere. Thank you to the manager and the team.

Mum was very apprehensive about moving into care, but from the moment we walked in for her first visit, she was made to feel welcome and valued. Before she moved in, she was underweight, confused and completely lacking in confidence. Now, after eight weeks, she has gained weight and is so much healthier
and stronger. It is wonderful to see that she has regained her confidence and that her cheeky personality is back. She is involved in plenty of activities and outings, and every day she seems more content. Mum tells us that she feels cared for, secure and happy. The care provided is exceptional. All the staff are clearly passionate about what they do and have endless energy, good humour and patience. They treat Mum with respect whilst adapting their approach to suit her cheeky nature. The support they have provided to my sister and I has also been incredible, making the whole transition easy and worry-free.

Sedgley Court cared for my father for the last three months of his life with great respect, kindness and compassion. The management team are professional, efficient and always there for residents and their families. The facilities are exceptional. Particularly unique is the spacious lounge/dining room
where residents eat and spent a lot of their day. The team are developing the number of available activities. Occasionally medication and personal care were a little slow, therefore, the maintenance of sufficient staffing levels is vital for excellent care. I a so pleased that my father spent his last days in such a genuine and caring community.

My mother moved into Sedgley Court for a two-week respite stay on leaving the hospital, having previously lived alone. Had visited Sedgley Court and found the home manager most helpful with advice on an area I was not familiar with. Within a few days, my mother decided to move in on a permanent basis.
Rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff excellent and activities arranged daily. My mum is now as well mentally and physically as she has been for a long time and is happy and settled.

As a dedicated healthcare professional, Emma has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Emma remarked:


“I am always excited to see what myself and the team can achieve together. Staff and resident wellbeing is always at the front of my mind ensuring we all work together to enable all of those that live and work within our community achieve their goals”


Emma has also achieved much outside of work, with her proudest achievements being stepping out of her comfort zone for her new role and progressing her career .


Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family and dogs and also loves to travel and go to the gym.
