My Mother has now been a resident at Moors Manor for two Years and I cannot praise it highly enough!
She recently celebrated her 95th birthday and she had such a lovely time, the Home arranged her favourite accordion player, a party with the other residents with a lovely cake. Then they helped me to organise a surprise picnic party in the Bistro for her and some of her close friends.
She receives a high standard of holistic, individualised care from all the staff. The carers are well trained, professional, gentle and caring. The Administration staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. The Catering Team produce the most wonderful food and the standard of the Housekeeping, Activities, Maintenance and Gardening teams is of the highest quality.
The high level of care she receives is even more important now her dementia is advancing, and I am so grateful for the experienced, knowledgeable staff who care for her in the lovely surroundings of her home from home!

Thank you all at MM!

We couldn't have asked for a better place for my elderly mother-in-law's respite care. From the moment she arrived, the staff were incredibly warm, friendly, respectful and professional, treating her with genuine kindness and dignity throughout her stay.
The rooms were beautifully presented-comfortable, luxurious and homely-which made her feel relaxed and well cared for. It was clear that every effort had been made to create a welcoming environment that felt more like a home than a care facility.
The standard of care and attention was exceptional, and it gave our whole family complete peace of mind knowing she was in such capable hands. We are so grateful to everyone at Moors Manor for making her stay such a positive experience.

I would highly recommend Moors Manor Care Home to anyone looking for high-quality respite care for a loved one.

My mother is experiencing a real dip in mental health at the moment and the continued perception of inadequate staffing especially at night is not helping. Requested 'key' lightfitting maintenance has still not been fulfilled a month on and the proliferation of drinking receptacles in the room on an increasing basis is not a positive indicator of regular interaction. I cannot rate the food and drink as can only ever visit at the end of an evening meal. A weekday visitor had to sort out my mothers breakfast the other day as there were no visible staff. I do of course accept that a very mobile person with mild Alzheimers can be difficult to deal with (as am I - with certain expectations as a private fee-payer). Currently looking for a 'busier' environment that I feel sure will better suit my mothers changing requirements and personal wellbeing. She has been at this residence since December 2023

My mother has been a resident of Moors Manor since July last year. In that time all the staff have got to know her well. She appears happy and contented and enjoys the company, activities and meals which are all first rate, essential to her wellbeing.
The staff from all departments are extremely friendly and caring with an essential sense of humour. They keep me informed of mum's progress and appear truly dedicated to the roles they play, which is heartwarming
to see. My mother is receiving nursing care and I believe she couldn't be in a better place. Although its title is care home, I would say more a care hotel, so well appointed.

Thanks to all!

We have been very satisfied with dads care and welfare, he is very happy and enjoyed Jo's encouragement and help to come to his chosen activities, sometimes the musical activities are best enjoyed in his room as they are too loud in the bistro as he has hearing aids which exagerate the sounds!

This home is quite insperational with Activities, care and wellbeing. It's like a five star hotel with care.
Nothing is too much trouble from all the lovely staff from management down.
My sister is very happy here + would happily book myself in when the time comes! But please change the 'Brown' carpet on Memory Lane to the lovely turquoise of downstairs!
Having said that, 'carer' is more important than decor.

This is a 1st class care home - Thank you Moors Manor.

The carers on Memory Lane are always attentive and go the extra mile to make my mum and the other residents feel at home. The shared dining and lounge areas, along with her room, offer a lovely view of the gardens and forest. She loves the dancing and singing social activities and is quite the entertainer!

It's nice to see her smiling on social media, even from afar. Being able to call in anytime, day or night, to chat with someone on the floor or speak directly with my mum is incredibly reassuring. As her dementia is progressing, knowing that she's well cared for brings us some peace of mind.

My father-in-law was admitted to Moors Manor for a short spell before we lost him to dementia.
But the kindness, care and compassion we were all shown in his final days was amazing.
The staff did everything they could to make sure he was comfortable, and they cared for my mother-in-law, husband and sister-in-law just as beautifully.

I cannot fault this service. From the staff to the facilities. The manager has built a fantastic team and as a family, we thank them.

Jenna May
Jenna MayJob Title:Senior General ManagerJoined: 2026

Hi, my name is Jenna, and I am the General Manager here at Moors Manor Care Home. Welcome to our website!

I have worked in senior healthcare roles, including the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, and have spent the past ten years working in management in a nursing home environment, having experienced domiciliary, acute and nursing care settings. I understand and empathise with the challenges residents and their families are going through when looking for care for themselves or their loved ones. It is my mission to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible.

Supporting the families of those in our care is something that I feel very strongly about, and from the time of enquiry, through to moving in and beyond, I aim to be there for the families as much as the residents themselves. Moving into a care home can often be a huge change as their loved one adapts to new surroundings, gets to know all of the teams supporting residents with their needs. I am well aware of how important the reassurance and constant communication is for all involved. This is something that the Moors Manor family are very good at as a whole, and I am so lucky that I get to share all my knowledge and work with such a fantastic team.

My ethos is ensuring that each and every resident lives their lives to the full, celebrating each day in a warm and welcoming environment, with a range of life-enriching activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, outstanding person-centred care and the most delicious food prepared by our talented chefs at Moors Manor. Being a resident of St. Leonards myself, I have great links with the local community, giving the residents the opportunity to still feel part of our local community.

I have been here just over 2 years now and I have been in care for 30 years where I started as an HCA at Royal Bournemouth Hospital then moved on to Dorset Healthcare which then enabled me to do my training in mental health nursing. I then did my diploma in mental health nursing and since then done loads more training including level 3 and 5 in healthcare. I feel very passionate about dignity and I’m very compassionate about respect and person-centred care. Making my lovely residents smile and laugh is the best feeling.

Away from work, I enjoy family time plus camping and getting away. We have a crazy home which we share with 5 cats 2 tortoises and rabbits.
