Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I have been a regular visitor to Signature at Hendon Hall since before it opened. The management, staff and the care home itself are amazing. The attention to detail and the level of care afforded to residents are truly exceptional. I cannot find fault with any aspect of Hendon Hall. I would highly
recommend Hendon Hall and have done to my family and friends. Well done to everyone involved, and thank you for being such caring people.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.808) out of 10 for Signature at Hendon Hall is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 36 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.808 for Signature at Hendon Hall is calculated as follows: ( (352 Excellents x 5) + (68 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 427 Ratings = 4.808
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Signature at Hendon Hall is based on 36 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 102 registered maximum number of service users is 20.4, which has been reached with 36 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Head chef

After working in the licensed trade for 25 years, I joined Signature at Bentley House, before transferring to Signature at Barnet (now Avery Barnet Grange Care Home) for their opening. During this time, I entered the NACC Chef of The Year competition, reaching the Regional Finals in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and progressing to the National Finals in 2021 and 2023. What I enjoy most about Signature at Hendon Hall is the interaction with the residents. I feel this is a major highlight, as I get to know them individually and can discuss their dietary needs. Doing so, I am about to find out their likes and dislikes, which I can then share with the rest of the kitchen team, therefore providing the best dining experience possible, whilst fulfilling their nutritional requirements.

Job Title: Business Administration Manager Joined: 2019

I have over 25 years of experience supporting residential care services and children’s social care. I’ve worked across care homes and local authority settings in both care and administration roles, and I understand that behind every well-run service are strong systems, supported staff, and a genuine commitment to the people who live there.

My role focuses on keeping the day-to-day business side of the home running smoothly — from administration, recruitment, finance, compliance, and audits, to supporting both our amazing care teams and managers, and external professionals. I work closely with staff and residents to make sure processes are clear, communication is open, and nothing important slips through the cracks.
